Shake Your "Bon-Bon"-Our "Last" Family Trip-PTR July 2011 *UPDATED 7/13*

Hi! I'm loving your report so far! I also followed from July 2011. I like hearing about your past trips as well.

It's great how you still love Disney. I hope my boys continue to love it as they get older. They are 7 and 4 and are going back for their 5th time already! I might brainwash them a bit. :goodvibes Maybe it's because they know how much I love it, and talk about it together so much!

We've only been to Fantasmic once in 2008, and since then we've been too busy avoiding DHS on Fantasmic days! We'll have to do it again soon.

I love dining in Disney too! Of course anytime I don't have to cook is great. Le Cellier is a favorite of ours.

Can't wait to hear about your surprises.. We ate a t Hollywood and Vine on our last trip my son loved it.. I loved the meatballs lol

Chapter 5: What could the surprises be?! DINNER SHOWS!

Good Evening DISers!

Doing an update tonight while watching the Britney Spears special. I love that girl, so I couldn't miss it!

My Family and I have been talking a lot about Disney lately! Tomorrow marks 100 days until our trip! I AM GEEKED! :woohoo: It's getting closer and we're beginning to get antsy. Therefore, I've been reading a lot of your posts to get some ideas on how to prepare (not that I haven't prepared and packed a ton of times) and your tips are all so helpful! So, thanks!

Now onto to real story! My surprise dinners! :woohoo:

We (my family and I) have been to the dinner shows before, but one member of our group has never been there before. We had to let Jon, our fifth traveler and practically another family member, experience some of our favorite elements. There were two shows that have been super special to my family and me over the years.

The Hoop-De-Doo Musical Review!

This show is a great time. Good Food, Great Entertainment, and a the BEST strawberry shortcake in the world. My family loves this show, and I cannot wait to go see it again! :yay:

Lovin' it as a kid!

Lovin' it as an older kid!
Above was in 2007, the last time we saw the show. It was a hoot :rotfl2:

So that is going to be on Monday @ 7:30, I believe. Last time, we went to the really late show, 9 maybe, and did not like how late it was. Just as a little tip, if you can get the earlier show, do it. Granted, seeing the late show, we had longer at the parks and more time to look around the campgrounds, it was late when we ate, and I was starving! Also, there weren't as many people at the late show and, somehow, that dampened the experience. I would much rather have a crowded room full of energy. Not that the show is any less fantastic later, I just prefer it earlier.

Next surprise show is....

The Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at the Polynesian Resort!

This is the most recent picture that I have of my family at the show. This will be our first show since 2003. We will be going to this on the day we arrive @ 8. The reason that I love this show so much, and I think this goes for my sister as well, is because I used to have Hawaiian dance classes when I was younger. I had a big grass skirt and all of the different dance implements. It was something that I LOVED and enjoy seeing whenever I can. It's cool seeing all of the different things I did done the real way. I can't wait to see it, again! :woohoo:

So, if I can convince any of you to do the dinner shows, I will sell it! They are all around a great time. The food is always good (not the best ever, but really good!) and the entertainment is SUPER! I think, sometimes, people overlook these because of price or just not knowing about them. I am here to tell you that they aren't to be missed. They are interactive, fun, family oriented shows that will keep your group talking for the rest of your trip! I know that they both take the dining plan for 2 TS meals. We are paying OOP for the HDD, but that's just because we wanted some up front seats. I think that it is well worth the price. I hope that helped if you were thinking about doing one! :confused3

I know, this was alot of information! But I am so excited about them both, I had to tell you about them! :woohoo: I hope you somewhat enjoyed! :)

I'm not sure what I'll talk about next time! So I need your help! Is there anything that anyone would like to know?! I have been to Disney in multiple ways, such as big family gathering, just with my parents and sister, and as a member of the dance team for my schools marching band! I'll tell about that and the special opportunities I've had in the future. First, I want to make sure that if there is anything you want to know I can share it with ya! :goodvibes

Just a cute picture from the past! Look at those trees and no Walt statue! I think this is where that would be!

Loving all the great pics.

WL will always hold a special place for us too. DH and I stayed there for our honeymoon way back...... in 1996:scared1: (Plus this was DH's 1st time to WDW:woohoo: and my first time staying on site)

But we have not stayed there since.:sad2: Now that we have DVC we might try for WLV but right now DH and DS3 are hooked on AKL.

Dinner shows, of course!
We have not seen the HoopDeDoo but we did go to the luau last trip and really enjoyed ourselves.

I followed from the July board too. I probably missed it - but what are your dates? We are there from July 11-23rd at the BWI. Our first resort was WL - and I love that place! We are also doing Hoop de Doo for the first time. We are also from Western PA - just north of Pittsburgh. Looking forward to reading more!

Thanks! My family is in love with the WL, and I'm sure your disneymoon was absolutely wonderful there! I have never been to AKL to even visit! I think that is something that we are going to do during this trip! I can't wait!

Dinner shows, of course!

I love the dinner shows! The luau is wonderful, and I would highly recommend the HoopDeDoo! It is honestly a blast!

Thanks for reading along! My dates are for July 14-22 at the WL. I'll be there while you are! I've never stayed at the BWI so a visit there may be necessary!
You are going to LOVE the HoopDeDoo! Do you have a large party? It's a blast with the whole family, and I'm sure with just a couple too! You'll have to let me know how you like it!

I go to school just north of Pittsburgh! SRU! Yay for Western PA! Go Steelers :yay::yay:

Sorry that I haven't updated a lot lately! I've been SOOO busy! I am swamped with school work and projects! I also start my field tomorrow! I AM SO EXCITED! :woohoo:

I wanted to get some feedback from yins guys about Hollywood & Vine and The House of Blues. These are two places that I have never eaten at and was hoping for some reviews!

Thanks guys! New update coming soon! :thumbsup2

PS. DOUBLE DIGIT DANCE!!!! 98 days!!! :yay: :woohoo: :cheer2:

Count me in! I have really enjoyed you TR so far!! Cant wait for more. We are also going in July!!

We are a family of 4 for Hoop de Doo - DH, me, DD17, and DS14. We are going on July 15 - so we miss you by a day. I wanted to do it before we went to MKs evening EMH - which is Friday. We also have the 7:15pm show.

We are probably going to do a college visit to SRU this summer. DD is interested in Early Childhood Education. We are only about 45 minutes south of Slippery Rock.

DD PARTY!

Happy Sunday DISers! I hope everyone had a fantabulous weekend!

It has taken me forever to update, but I finally have a short blurb about my exciting weekend. Me and my sister have been planning to have a little double digit party, and it was this past Saturday!! :yay:

We didn't really have a huge thing planned, but we did have a good time. We discussed the DIS and what my next update was going to be about...which you'll see later.

We also watched the Lion King! Does anyone else ball when Mufasa dies?! I literally sobbed. :sad1: :sad1: But, on a happier note, this is one of my favorite Disney movies. I think that is something I would like to do before we go. I want to watch those classic movies that I love so much. Disney had the BEST run of movies in the 90's. I have got to rewatch them!

Me and my sister also made cupcakes! If I could professionally make cupcakes for the rest of my life I totally would. We aspire to open a bakery one day when we are both established teachers, if that ever happens! :confused3 haha, I know it will happen eventually, but I want eventually to be sooner than later!
Back to the cupcakes, though. They were DELICIOUS! Chocolate peanut butter deliciousness. We made them from scratch (frosting too!) and they turned out great! They were a little dry, but I made a mental note! We were so proud of them! So we took pictures! Here they are!

Overall, we had a great time at our DD party!

Next update, I'm gunna start breaking down our days! We are avid Disney lovers, but you may be surprised with the things that we have never done! I'll start outlining that next time (hopefully tomorrow)!!

Happy Countdowns!! :yay: :yay:

Ohh I am loving your ptr! You have so much energy you bring to it! We are huge Disney lovers too- I hope my boys marrie girls like you two!:rotfl: LOL! I cant wait for your next instalment! There is so much we have never done too...like the kitchen sink at Beaches and Cream! Every trip we plan on doing this and we never do! House of Blues is on our next time list too! thank you for sharing! Now Im going to go sing:) "good morning":) to my youngest son and get him up for school! lol
