Shake Your "Bon-Bon"-Our "Last" Family Trip-PTR July 2011 *UPDATED 7/13*

Chapter 11: Future Plans, Food, and Fun!

castle.jpg

There is a lot more of our trip left after we have hit all of the parks and our two dinner shows. Just as a recap, here are the plans for the first 5 days!
Day 1- Arrival/Spirit of Aloha
Day 2- Magic Kingdom!
Day 3- EPCOT & Le Cellier!
Day 4- DHS & Hollywood and Vine Fantasmic Package
Day 5- AK & Hoop de Doo Musical Review!

Now, for the rest of the trip

Day 6- Chef Mickey's Breakfast-We have plans to get some pool action today as well as head back to EPCOT. We have reservations at Cape May at night, so that will be a nice walk to the Beach Club!
Day 7- This day is up in the air. Originally, we were thinking about heading over to Universal for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Due to crowds, we were thinking of getting their fast pass type thing. BUT it's very expensive. So this might have to be put on the list for next trip! If this isn't what's on the agenda, we are going to do the little boats and go explore other hotels! Maybe we could convince our parents to take a vacation club tour?! haha :)
Day 8- This is our last full day so it's off to Magic Kingdom! We have reservations at Crystal Palace for dinner, and we will definitely stay to see the parade and fireworks!
Day 9- Our flight is late this day, so we will be do whatever it is we want to do again. Excited to do things again, but not so happy to go home :(

just a little side picture, but super fun parades that we have gotten to do. I'll talk more about this laterrr! :)
Now, that is the plans for the rest of the trip, but I have left out one very important detail. Quick Service meals and Snack! Some of our favorite places to eat our quick service restaurants and snack carts!

So, as to not take up too much time, I will go by park/venue and name our favorites!
Magic Kingdom- Lots of yummy food here. QS- Pecos Bill's, Casey's Corner, & Pinnochio's! Snacks- DOLE WHIP! The Cream Cheese Pretzel in Tomorrowland! Rice Krispy Mickey's and Fudge from the Candy Shop!
EPCOT- QS- Sunshine Seasons; the only QS we really eat at in EPCOT. Snacks- La Patisserie; anything from there! Funnelcakes! There will be more added when we snack across the world!
DHS- QS- Pizza Planet. Snacks-none yet! but soon to include a seemingly delicious cupcake!
Animal Kingdom- QS- Flame Tree BBQ! (By far my favorite!) Snacks- I like chocolate covered bananas, but I only get them in AK! I don't know why! Churros! haha
DTD- QS- Earl of Sandwich!

Any other suggestions?! I am always up for some new ideas!

So all of the food taken care, as well as all of our days planned, what do we have left to do! SHOPPING!! AGH! This is what my paychecks are for, and I cannot wait to start packing up some clothes. Next post, I will share with you some of the items that I think is important to take, as well as some of the things that I have bought already! :)

See ya real soon!

Have you added your ADRs to the July Board? It is always fun to see if any other Dis people are eating when you are!

The benefit to doing the DVC tour is that they pick you up at your resort and when it is over they drop you at a park with fast passes ( I think it might have been 2 per person). They also had an ice cream sundae bar at their office. It was fun to see the inside of a DVC suite too - they had models.......

AH! finally some replies! and a new post!! :)

I am definitely looking forward to the tigers! Have you been to the Pittsburgh Zoo lately? I love their tiger exhibit as well! Nothing like Disney, but cool none the less!
My sister has seen that show and she really enjoyed it! If we have time, I would definitely like to check it out, especially since you recommended it!
I LOVE FLAME TREE. I am going to do a post about our must do quick service places, or where we intend to eat. This will definitely be mentioned!
And Kennywood is open!! Hopefully your DS had fun last Friday! :)

I have not been to the zoo in several years but we just talked about that the other day. Summers seem so short anymore, and with the kids in high school weekends are always busy it seems.

Yes, Flights of Wonder is awesome, and I don't think it fills to capacity very often, so you can sometimes run in at the last minute and still get a seat.

DS had fun at Kennywood in spite of the rain during the afternoon - he came home with no voice (from yelling I guess), no money, and two giant stuffed bananas he won.......

Both my kids will be there marching in the Fall Fantasy parade on August 13th with their high school band.

I hope that your packing and organizing is going well! You'll have to let me know if you have any good packing tips! I could always use them! :)

Unfortunately my packing tips begin and end with stuffing socks into my shoes. Other than that it's difficult to figure out what to pack and how much space I'm gonna need for all of the things that I'm no doubt going to be bringing back.

I've also done a little planning which for me is a first, I usually like to go with the flow. Although saying that you wouldn't be surprised if you knew me that most of the planning I have done has revolved around where and what I'm planning to eat at the parks. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

I have a couple of packing tips..............roll your clothes instead of folding and use the 3 gallon zip lock bags - put the rolled clothing in, then make sure all the air is out (like space bags) and you can fit a lot more into your suitcase!

Chapter 12: Shopping and Preparing!

These past few weeks have gotten away from me and now we are down to 24 days! I am so excited!

Small life update since I have last posted. I went to a wedding and had a blast, started working everyday, and started a babysitting 2 boys! It has been a very busy and hectic month, but it just make me more excited to get away to my favorite place! Getting up at 6 to go to the parks will be much more fun than getting up to go to work! haha!

So, onto packing and getting ready to go! I don't have a detailed list of what to take, but I do have some suggestions that come in handy.

1. One suggestion that I have is to have a bag/purse with you at the parks. I know that this seems like a stupid suggestion because mostly everyone has something. But, I have medicine, my camera, money, ponytail holders, suntan lotion, HAND SANITIZER, plastic baggies (to put phone and camera in on wet rides), sun glasses, extra contacts, etc. Usually by dad has a fanny pack, which hold some things, but this year I am carrying a hipster from Vera Bradley. I AM OBSESSED WITH VERA. You'll see.
hipster.jpg

That's the Vera Hipster that I got!

2. Another suggestion that I have to to take a carry on with youre essentials for the day your arrival. For example, I have my make-up, my bathing suit, my outfit for the luau that night, my straightener, and shoes. I know that this seems like a lot of stuff, but there is a chance that your luggage won't be in your room when you arrive/want it to be. This is for people using the Magical Express. It is a wonderful ammenitiy that Disney provides and I wouldn't have it any other way. There is just a chance that you may need something in your suitcase that you might not get in time. This being said, also keep any reservation/conformation numbers with you for ADRs. You need these for your reservations, and again, if you keep that in your luggage, you may not have it in time!
I have 2 bags that I am between. The Vera Bradely Vera in Purple Punch or the Weekender in Very Berry Paisley, so I'll just show you both!

3. I love to wear sandels, but I ALWAYS pack tennis shoes. I am a show fanatic, so I have many pairs. It is important to think about all of the walking you'll be doing. YOUR FEET WILL HURT! This being said, I need to take my own advice. I love sandals too much sometimes! :)

4. I know that everyone says to only pack what you need and keep it light. I find that having a couple extra tops gives the option or ability to change during the day. Sometimes getting wet or hott leaves you feeling...well gross. Having something to change into or cover-up with prevents sunburn, irritation, and, for lack of better words, gross-ness.

I have never tried rolling my clothes, so I will definitely try this! Does anyone else have any packing recommendations? What are some things that you take with you?!

I am getting very excited about our trip! I will be giving you shopping updates as they come! I may need some opinions, and I'm counting on you all!

Also, thanks for sticking with me! I know that my posts have been few and far between, but know that I am still following you all, and love reading about your trips as well!

See ya real soon! Happy Countdowns! :D

I love the Hipster!!! Pretty color.....I have such a hard time choosing, I love Vera bags!!

The Vera's are all very cute! I'm a bit Disney D&B obsessed right now! I don't have one yet, but I will. Problem is that more patterns keep growing on me, so I feel I need more than 1!

I always pack way more shirts than I need, but I like to have options! Like you said, you'll most likely end up changing at least once a day if you get that opportunity to freshen up.

I just read through your report today and it was really fun! I'm actually a terrible underpacker and end up making up creative outfits. So my advice would be to use the bigger bag to make sure you pack enough. :)

Thank you! I love them all! I can't decide which bag to take as my carry on for the plane. Any suggestions?
OH! and How are the college visits coming!? I know that you mentioned doing some this summer!

I love the disney d&b's! I have a clutch! LOVE IT! haha :)

And I'm glad I'm not the only one who over packs! I have such a horrible habit of doing it!

I agree, I should take the bigger bag, I just don't know which one that is!! haha

Chapter 13: MICKEY MAIL!!!!!!! :earboy2:

AHH, look what came in the mail today!!

116-2.jpg

I could not be more excited! I have a list of things that I am taking with me, a list of things that go into my carry-on, and a list of things that I need to buy before we leave! I could not be more prepared, but I will probably take that back the day before we leave!! :lmao:

So, I was thinking about what to talk about during these last few trip reports! I've told you a lot about the trips that I have taken with my family. Another big part of my love for Disney is the trips that I have taken as a member of my high schools marching band! I was a dancer and got the opportunity to dance and perform in disney!!
Of course, I have pictures of 2008, when me and my sister were both lucky enough to be there!
DSC01307.jpg

That is of us marching down Main Street USA! WOOO!!

DSC01320.jpg

Here we are near the end of the route! Can you find my sister and me?! :)

IT WAS SOO COOL! I marched in two parades with the Starlettes. In 2006, when I was a sophomore, we marched before the SpectroMagic Parade! It was amazing marching down main street and seeing the castle! In 2008, as you can see above, we marched down Main St. before the Share a Dream Come True parade! Also amazing! It was also sooooo cool to see behind the magic! I won't tell you so I don't ruin it for you, but trust me, it was tooo cool. My sister even caught a ride from Aladdin! Long story short, she twisted her ankle on the railroad tracks and he found her a ride!! He was too nice, and cute ;)

Another AWESOME thing that we got to do during these trips was the dance clinic that disney offers. We got to learn 3 dances from a performer. I learned a dance from The Festival of the Lion King, and two others. My sister learned a dance from the Beauty and the Beast: Live on Stage show, as well as two others! Did you know that one of the pink dresses that they wear in that show cost more than a car?! CARAZYYYY! We also had mini-auditions to teach us what those are like! THEN GOOFY CAME! He scared me while I was dancing! :rotfl:

133.jpg

I don't have a picture of my year, but this is the picture that they take at the end of the class! So fun!

Lastly, one of the funnest things about going with the band is experiencing Disney with your friends! It's a completely different thing when the people you are going with have never been there before! I love seeing everyone's face light up when they experience the magic for the first time! :goodvibes

Disney is one of those places that can make the smallest things the most magical! It can also make your dreams come true! It was so cool to be able to march down Main Street! It's not something that many people can say that they have done! I am so grateful for the opportunity! :)

So, right now, it's officially 9 days and some hours until we leave for the happiest place on earth!

Happy and safe travels if you are going soon! See ya real soon! :)

Great picture. I hear that they have a dole whip machine at the Poly, too. So while you are over there that's another chance for dole whip!

Chapter 14: Here We Gooooo!

WOOOO! In about 12 hours we will be up in the sky on our way to Walt Disney World!!:banana::banana::banana::banana::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

I cannot believe it! I have been waiting and counting down since a year ago, and I never thought that it would get here! Finally, the day has come and I could not be more stressed! HAHA  I know, I said I had my list all together! I still get anxious even though I KNOW I have everything that I need. Does anyone else get like this?!?!

So, anyway. Our flight is around 10:40ish. We plan on leaving our house around 7am considering it takes about an hour to get out there with all the rush hour traffic! blahhh :sad2: I will be getting jelly beans from the candy store at the airport, because I always do!

I'm a little nervous about going through security, just because its different from when we have went before. I know that it will be good though! Just being my worried self! :P

Other than all of that, no new plans have been made! All of our ADRs have been made and haven't changed, as well as the days we are at each park. If you see me, say heyy!

OHH! and I have a twitter! klamarie_ is my name, so follow me! I will be updating frequently! YAY!

I'm so excited and I just wanted to thank everyone for following along! I know that towards the end, it's been a little bit sporadic and far between with my posts! I hope you know that I had fun telling you my plans, and I hope that you enjoyed them as well! If you ever need any advice, I'm always here! :goodvibes

As for this PTR, it's complete! Nothing else to update ya'll on! WOW! I still can't believe it! Again, hope you enjoyed! A trip report will be coming soon! Either by me or my lovely sister!

Happy Planning! See ya real soon! :yay:

AHHH!! I started my trip report! The link is in my sig, so please hop on over! Me and my sister are doing it together, so updates should happen more often! YAY!
