We have ressies for Shades of Green in May. Assuming they will be open, does anyone know...

1. Will they have coffee pots in the room? I can't remember.
2. I have read that they are going to have microwaves in every room. Anyone else hear this?
3. Will they have internet access?

Thanks!!!

3. Yes :)

Hi dizneycc,

SOG will have coffeemakers and refrigerators in the rooms, but no microwaves.

I'm not sure about high speed internet access in the rooms, like the other WDW resorts are getting (or already have). We always bring a laptop and use a local dial-up number and have never had problems.

Here's a link to the SOG site, if you don't already have it:

I read somewhere that they are going to have keyboards that go along with their TV's for web access (for a fee)

No microwaves.

BTW....looked at their website today, looks like they are starting on their landscaping. Woohoo!

We are going in late April to the SOG. It sure looks like they have an awful lot to do to open on March 1. Has anyone with reservations for the first part of March been contacted about it not being ready?

If they only open part of the resort on 1 March, I guess the last guests to make their reservations will have no room?

Thanks everyone for your quick responses! Although I have been loving staying at the Contemporary, I am definitely ready for SOG to be open again. The live picture on the website is starting to look promising!

:D

From what I heard, a bunch of rooms were blocked off so, in answer to your question, yes, they will have a room. This means that, to the agents, the hotel appears sold out, but there are rooms that are hidden from view (it was done every Oct for that dumb golf tournament and rooms were released after Disney decided how many they needed). :)

We don't have reservations yet, but are looking at going early December! We're hoping to get tow standard rooms plus one Suite.. WE're going with my Father In Law and another family. I'm really excited! When they say that there's a kitchenette, what do they mean?

Hi Holly

I just talked to SOG today to reserve early December too. It was no problem. Staying Dec. 10-19.

I asked about the Junior Suite and the Suite. The kitchenette means a sink, a mini refrigerator, table and a coffee pot according to the person on the phone. The Junior Suite has the same. The Junior Suite was $200/night (sleeps 6) and the Suite was $225/night (sleeps 8). We decided to go with two standard rooms.

Good Luck!

THanks so much for this info! It seems as though it may just be better to go with a standard room then..!

Greatly appreciated!

Our family is going early december as well. We have reservations for 2 rooms for Dec. 6th - 10th. I am super excited to go. My mom and dad are going, this will be their 1st time to disney. My dad just retired from the air force. I think it will be nice for him to be around other military people I know he misses it. I have been keeping an eye on the progress as well.

I do have a question. Can we get our Disney tickets before hand. Can we order them by phone? I was just hoping to get some of this paid for before we go. Also they didn't ask me for a deposit when I made the reservations, thought that was odd.

you can not purchase park tickets at the military rate with out showing a military ID so I don't think you can order them through the mail-however if your dad lives near a base ( or if you have a military ID and live near a base) go to the ITT or ITR office on base and purchase your tickets. They will be even less expensive this way than if you purchase them through the ticket office at Shades of Green.

Why would the tickets be cheaper buying them on base as oposed to purchasing them at SOG? Every little bit of savings helps!

Glad you mentioned this! My Father In Law will be purchasing our tickets, and he was trying to figure out whether to go through the local base or calling Shades of Green! Now I know!

Thanks!

Since my dad is the one who's in the military can you tell me what this stands for "ITT or ITR office" we have a small base like 20 mins away. My mom is able to shop at the commissary so maybe they can go up and get them.

Thanks for the information

ITT stands for Information Tickets and Tours and ITR stands for Information, Tickets and Reservations-which they are called depends on the branch of service-ITT is what the Air Force calls it but I think every one else uses ITR. It will be located near the Moral, Recreation and Welfare office on base.
Wannabe-i am not sure about the difference in price-it may be due to a 3rd party vendor or taxes-I know it is the same in hawaii-if you purchase tickets at the Hale Koa or one of the other rec centers they are cheaper than the walk up price but if you go to the ITR office at Pearl Harbor to purchase attraction tickets they are cheaper still.-its not a lot but 5 or 10 bucks each on several tickets adds up

If you go to the Shades of Green website, you can look up their prices for all attractions. Then your FIL can take it to the base and compare the prices.

In my experience, the type of tickets available at the base were very limited. I don't remember exactly, they only had maybe a 5 or 7 day pass. That was it. At Shades of Green you have several options for tickets.

They also have a length of stay tickets at SOG.

The passes are a few dollars cheaper on base, but if it's not convenient to get there..... Shades sells them also.
