We have never stayed at SoG and will be going 12/9-12/16. (Our first trip in 4 years after being stationed in Okinawa!) Have an early ADR at CP at 8:10. (Looking forward to getting a great picture of the castle with no crowds!) What is the best way to get to the MK? :confused3 Should we walk to the Poly and then take the monorail to MK? Does anyone know what time the monorail starts running? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks!:flower3:

A couple of ways. Walk to the Poly and take the monorail (about a 15 minute walk). Or take the bus to the TTC and take the monorail from there. You'll be in MK in roughly 30 minutes either way. The monorail starts running well before 8AM. Have fun. SoG is a GREAT place to stay

the SoG Buses do not start running until 30 minutes before the park is due to open, but the Monorail starts at 0730 I think(maybe 0700), so if you get to Poly in time for the first run, you will have plenty of time to make it. I do know that there is an entrance that bypasses the main crowd trying to get in if you have ressies.

The walk to Ply is nice and not far at all.

I miss Japan. We were on the mainland though..Yokosuka.

The resort monorail begins operation at 7 am.:thumbsup2

We have never had problems making it for early ADR. We ate at Chef Mickey's during our visit in Dec 2006, one of the first reservations.. All 17 of us rode the bus to TTC and caught the monorail without delay!

You will need to walk to the poly since the busses wont be running on time for your ADR, but its not a very far walk and its very scenic. I dont believe any SOG busses leave before 8am. You can also take the Ferry to MK or back, whichever you prefer. the TTC is right next to the Poly. Have a great time!

The above regarding ferry boats is incorrect. The ferry boats do not start running until 0830

Thanks endeavour, I should have been more clear, I didnt mean to imply that the ferrys ran that early, just that they are a great option to and fro from the MK.

I am bringing this question up again as I was told yesterday by a CM at Disney Dining that the monorails do not start running until 45 min before park opening. :confused3

We had to move our trip to Jan. 27-Feb.2 and I was making new ADR's. I have an 8:20 ressie at CP, but would like to try for a little earlier, but am not sure if I can make it there on time.:scared:

Does anyone know for sure what time the monorail starts running from the Poly to MK? (MK opens at 9:00 that morning - Jan. 29 - with no EMH.) I picked the 29th b/c it is a Tuesday and MK is supposed to be less crowded.

Any help would be much appreciated!:thumbsup2

Don't know if this needs to be moved to Dining/Transportation/Theme Parks?

Unfortunately, many CMs who are not directly working in the WDW Transportation Dept (buses, monorails, watercraft) and, like many replies here, provide a lot of dis - disinformation.

The resort monorails begin operations at 0700 (7 am).

Thank you Endeavour105!!! :) :)

That information helps me (and a lot of others) with our planning. Now I have the option of going to breakfast even earlier.

Thank you again!
