Shades of Green Suites

Are you referring to the suites at SoG or suites you get at the Contemporary during the SoG renovation?

In the actual SoG resort building, there was one suite that had an odd configuration and I think slept six or seven. I want to think it was $125 or $150 per night regardless of rank or band.

It was very popular and almost impossible to get. I wonder if they'll add some suites during the redesign, it would seem taht they willa s one of the reasons for the redesign was to add a conference center that will be used by military and DoD, and often conference heads get suites as they can have many people working in their room during the event.

This info is from the SOG website

http://www.armymwr.com/shades/index.html

Junior Suite - All Ranks/Grades (sleeps 6) $200.00
Suite - All Ranks/Grades (sleeps 8) $225.00
Above rates are based on two adults occupying a room. Add $15.00 per additional adult, 18 years or older.

Thanks trip! They've defeinitely added more suites! :) They've also raised the rates on them by quite a bit :(

Can any one tell me about the suites you get at the Contemporary during the Shades of Green renovation? We were originally booked for December into one of the new 8 person suites for $225. When I look on the Contemporary room layout page @ Disney.com the only suite that sleeps 8 people is REALLY
Expensive! Wouldn't it be cheaper just to give us two rooms that sleep 5 people? The very abrupt Shades of Green reservationist said," If you booked a suite through SOG, you will get a suite at the Contemporary." It would be awsome to get one of those two bedroom suites on the Disney site! Should I dare to dream?

Hi WANNABE@WDW

If you booked a suite that's what you will get. We were at CR (SOG) June7- June 13 and we had a great suite at CR. It was room 8308.

Did we get spoiled. Would love to always get this deal!

WHAT TYPE OF SUITE DID YOU HAVE? HOW MANY BEDROOMS AND BATHS DID IT HAVE? WHAT WAS THE DIFFERENCE IN LOCATION BETWEEN THE NORTH GARDEN WING AND WHERE YOU WERE LOCATED? WE ARE TOTAL NEWBIES AS FAR AS THE CONTEMPORARY GOES. WE HAVE STAYED MANY TIMES AT THE POLY AND POR, BUT OTHER THAN THE MONORAIL RIDE THROUGH THE CONTEMPORARY, WE KNOW NOTHING OF THE RESORT. ANY INFO WOULD BE HELPFUL!

Hi WANNABE@WDW

This is the layout of the suite we had only it was reversed with the king bedroom on the left. We didn’t have the daybed in our room but a table and 2 chairs were in its place. A refrigerator was in the room but I’m still not sure if that is standard. We weren’t charged extra for it. My 2 DDs and a friend shared the middle section and we all used the section with the dining table and sofa for gathering. Another DD and her family had a regular room right next to us and they spent lots of time in our room and then they could retreat to their room. Most nights we had turn down service.

We were in the North Garden wing – the very last building away from the main building – on the very end - overlooking the Bay Lake. We enjoyed both balconies. We took advantage of the mugs and definitely got our moneys worth - coffee or hot chocolate in the morning and slushies when ever we could. Some don’t like the walk to the main building but it’s really only a few minutes. We did Chef Mickey on the first night and explored the hotel. It’s a short walk the MK or you can take the monorail. We usually walked there and took the monorail back to the resort. Also you catch the buses for other resort locations on the north end of the main building. If you have any more questions just holler!!

Thanks for all the info and links! What size suite had you reserved? Did you have the six person suite or the eight person suite? Were ya'll on the first floor? How updated was the decor of the room? Did the room have any odors (like mold or smoke)? We had a really tough time in May with mold and other odors at the Poly.
