Does anyone know if Shades of Green lets you park there for the day and issues you a pass to use the buses, charging you of course?

It would be so nice not to have to walk from TTC or other parking lots to the parks.

It’s been a few years since we stayed at SoG, but there was a manned gate with a security guard who checked your name in their computer. I doubt they offer a service like you describe but give them a call. Worst they can say is no.

A nice service SoG has (or did at least a few years ago) were the valets who would cart you across from a path leading to the Poly. Short walk to the monorail or TTC. And now to GF or even hike to MK I suppose. And the cart ride back to the resort at the end of a Disney day was HUGE!

I believe you can get in as long as you have a military ID of course. if you say you are there to buy tickets from the ticket counter they have let you in through the gates in the past with a valid military ID. this has been 7 or 8 years though since I last tried.

Good point - if you tell them at the gate that you want to buy tickets and show proper ID (military, DoD civilian, dependent, etc), they will likely let you in. If you’re not blatant about parking you may have no issues.

But does SoG charge for parking these days? SoG has their own rules as it’s rented from Disney and therefore quasi-independent but it wouldn’t surprise me if they have a parking fee in this post quarantine world.

Edited to add: $13/night for parking, and you are assigned a placard at the front desk. See https://www.shadesofgreen.org/about-shades-green/parking

Apologies if this sounds choppy, typing from my phone :). We visit SoG several times a year for one reason or another.

Shades does charge for parking and has for years. If you're just there to buy tickets and out within an hour or two though, you don't pay It was still free in June when we stopped in to buy a ticket.

To ride the bus, you need to show the resort card they issue at check in. You can't park there and use the busses unless you are a resort guest. I don't think that's changed since Covid. (Haven't ridden though myself).

To get to MK, the bus drops at the TTC. I think now that Epcot monorail is open, they also may have gone back to TTC instead of a direct bus to that park.

You can visit for the ticket office, Exchange, and restaurants though :)

Sorry not trying to be snarky here just a bit confused as to what you are asking. So you are asking if you can park at SoG and ride their bus to the other parks? And you think this would be easier than just driving to say HS or AKL and parking there? As others have said, you can indeed park at SoG (given you have a valid gov't ID), it is not free though, just the first 2? hours are. You cannot use their busses though unless you are staying there. You can ask for the shady shuttle which will take you to the end of the property and drop you off at the crosswalk to the Poly. I saw a post where someone walked to the MK from here via GF and it took them 34 minutes so I don't see how this would be any better than just parking at the TTC or one of the other theme park parking lots. It seems like a lot of hassle and I don't see how this would be any easier but maybe I'm misunderstanding what you are asking.
