Hi ~ I had a few questions and was hoping that someone could help.. First~ how is the first 2 weeks in August as far as crowds and availability? ... Also could someone tell me what is the Shades of Green ressie policy meaning , do I pay for 1 night , then the balance upon check in, or does it need to all be paid in full before arrival? and if they are booked for my dates then I get an overflow ressie through them for a Deluxe , then SOG does end up haivng availabilty for my dates, do I have to stay there or will be ressies for the Deluxe stay the same.... One last thing.. What is the average overflow rate for The Grand Floridian , or Poly when booking through SOG? it would be during August Value season... Thanks for your help!

I was able to book CSR with SoG's overflow rate for our trip last month. If you try to book SoG and there is no availability, they will give you an overflow rate for a Value, Moderate or Deluxe, depending on availability. When you make your reservation with an overflow rate, it works just like any other resort reservation. You pay for one night as the deposit, and you can pay more towards the balance or you can pay the balance in full when you check out. Once you have made your reservation and made your deposit, your place at the resort you have chosen is set. Should SoG have a room become available, they will NOT tell you that you have to stay there.

I don't know how crowds/availability are in August, and I'm sorry but I do not know what the rates for that month are either if you get an overflow. I can tell you that the overflow rate they offered us for a Deluxe was in the upper $100's. Your rate at SoG is fixed according to the rank of the military member. You can check right now if you go to their website, as you can make a reservation online or just check availability online.

If you get a SOG overflow ressie, then you do not have to stay at SOG if availability opens up. Once you get your reservation, they don't take it away. You pay 1 night deposit and the balance at check-in. Can be cancelled with no penalty 6 days prior to check-in.

As for average rates -- it just depends on availability. Last December, we got an overflow rate for CR Tower of $179, Poly was $169. For next week, we have Poly at $214, but no other deluxe overflow rates were available.

They download their overflow rates every morning and the rate stays available all day. They have mentioned that once a rate is gone, then they will not get it again - i.e. last July we asked for December overflow rates and got a $134 quote for CR Std. A day later, only CR garden and CR Tower were available, and they mentioned they would not have any CR std overflow rates anymore for those dates, even if anyone cancelled.
