great invites! love the simpsons STD
Good luck with March 18thWell my son's state insurance has been dropped because I make to much money now, even though I only have enough to cover the bills and my work does not offer insurance. Mike has good insurance with his company and Brandon my son has lots of health issues...So Mike and I have determined we will tie the knot March 18th at the JP but have the official wedding still in June. Anyway he feels like we should still celebrate on or own and we are going to go to Six Flags to celebrate.
In the state of TX you have to submit your name change 30 days after so I will have to change my name on my DL and that means I have to call and make a change on the flight as well. At least it is SW they tend to be more reasonable. .... I better think of anything else this could cause issues... oh credit cards.
Wish us luck to get this all done and the paperwork sent into the insurance comapny before the March 31st deadline..

I find this odd, since I know it was more than 30 days after that I changed my TXDL. Maybe it was because we have a FL Marriage License and I was living in Germany.Still, what if you didn't want to change your name at first and decided to later? That is so odd that they MAKE you do it now or never.
As for SW...make sure you have SOME ID (maybe you can go to AAA and get an international driver's license with your maiden name...or keep the TXDL with your maiden name). Then they shouldn't give you any trouble.
Not sure if they will cahrge additional but SW is easy to work with.
This is what I found on the TDPS.
3) I have recently married. How long do I have to change the name on my license? Can I change my name online?
You are required to notify the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) of a name change within 30 days. A fee is required. Name changes cannot be processed online. In order to change your name, you must apply at any Texas Driver License office and present your marriage certificate/license or court order to initiate the change. No name will be used that has not been previously documented . In all cases, documented proof of name change shall be presented. 37 Texas Administrative Code 15.23, 37 Texas Administrative Code 15.36, Texas Transportation Code 521.054.
