I am new to this so I hope I am doing it right. I was advised to start my own thread so I can get feedback from other excited Disney people on how to go about my wedding.

First of all I am a little under a year out and I am slowly trying to pull things together so I do not have as much stress. I am doing everything all by myself and have a limited budget. So we are making a family vacation/honeymoon wedding/ reunion out of this. LOL

I love Disney as does Mike so this was the best choice for us and our son Brandon could not be more pleased. Bonnie at Shades of Green has been so very helpful and I am so thankful for having a retired military dad who is allowed to use the property.

Well more details to come this weekend........:wizard:

I am moving this to the Wedding Planning Journals Board. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Welcome to the boards Janine! Do you have your date set yet? I look forward to hearing your plans!:thumbsup2

Yep June 16, 2010 is the big day. I will post some more stuff on the details soon. Also I think 10 posts is the magical number before I can post pictures. Just learning as I go.

Mike and I met 5 years ago on Mothers Day and have been seeing each other ever since. We found we have many thoughts in common. Some of our favorite things are the beach, Disney and loving my son. It took about a year for my son to warm up to Mike since he was use to having his Mommy all to him self.

We have taken things slowly over the years and have grown closer and closer in our relationship through communication and understanding. Brandon my son looks up to Mike and loves him. The same day Mike asked me to marry him May 13, 2008 durning a trip to Las Vegas. He also called Brandon and told him he asked me to marry him and asked if he could be his (Brandon's) dad. Brandon said yes and wants to take the same last name of Tandle after the marriage as well.

My son Brandon Pitts is 9 years old right now and will be 10 when we get married. He has been part of the planning and is thrilled :mickeyjumDisney will be the destination. He will be the ring barrier during the ceremony and likely take part in the candle ceremony. I will ask him if he chooses to be a part of it.

We had 2 reasons for waiting so long. We want to make sure we are not financing the wedding and I wanted to finish up my Master’s degree in Human Resources . I am finished now! I was not planning on starting to set up the wedding until after that is over but have anyway. We plan here and there and try not to make it stressful. Everything will be just as much of a surprise for me on the wedding say as everyone else since I won’t be able to see touch or smell anything until the day of the wedding. To me the surprise is exciting and I am trying to have no worries. It is not about the bells and whistles but about the commitment to God, each other and memories. It if something crazy happens well that will be our special memory. LOL

Mike and I dream of one day living/working near Orlando since it would save us a bunch of money on vacation travel. LOL

More details to come later

I'm glad you started your PJ! It's nice to learn more about you! Can't wait to hear about all of your wedding plans. June 16 will be here before you know it!!!

Cute engagement story. How thoughtful of Mike to ask Brandon if he could be his dad. If you have any questions about posting or whatever, let me know and I'll try and help out. The Dis is the first place I've ever posted so I understand the 'getting the hang of it' stage. I still sometimes have to ask random questions:laughing:

Ok I could not wait till this weekend to try and post a picture. Let’s start with my dress. I know my soon to be hubby will never look on here cause his pass time is far from the computer. I am not wearing the petti coat in this picture it is a 3 ring so it puffs out quite a bit. Also I am not to thrilled about the fly away lace on the front so we are going to fix that with a needle and thread. Not bad I got a designer dress from eBay for $75.00 and don't need to fix the length or anything. I did get a corset so it fits a little nicer on the top.

This first picture is showing a little yellow. Sorry I have not any other pictures yet.

The second picture is more the right color.

So Princess22 you are thinking of a Disney Cruise. I am so excited for you. I am trying to figure out what I am going to do for my 30th birthday this December.
Does anyone know how the weather is out on the boat in around December 29th? Has anyone had a 10 year old boy on the boat I have never been on a Disney cruise only Carnival.

Your dress looks gorgeous on you. You're going to be a beautiful bride.

I have been on a princess cruise in december. The weather was fine. The seas were a bit rough one day, but doable! I think you should go. I think your son would love it!!! If you go over to the Disney Cruise Line Forum there are tons of very knowledgeable people over there. Super nice people also. They will help you with anything, but it's a bit addictive also!!! Go check them out

Hello fellow SOG bride! Congrats and welcome to the PJ side. It's very addicting so prepare to get nothing else done. :rotfl2:
Well it's good to see more of us popping up around here. I love your Save the Date's. :goodvibes They are super cute and I think you are right about ending up on people's fridges. I would totally put one up on mine.

Congrats! Can't wait to read more!

Sorry everyone I went to the beach this weekend and slacked off.
I did check out prices for a Disney Cruise in December and I it is a little out of my league in the price zone. Oh well I figure out something. :confused3

Anyway pictures are always fun so I thought I would put one in of what I would like my bouquet to look like. Just got to find someone in my price range... There is a place called Greenery something (I'll have to look it up) that may do it for a good price as well as the swag for the gazebo. They will not talk design until 6 months out.

This is my label for the RSVP cards- I will send those out as well as my invitations no later then January since I can only hold my block of rooms till April.

You are right it is addicting

Also thank you all for the welcome and congratulations. The same goes for each of you. When I have a minute I will check out each of your threads.

I need to start packing because my hubby to be and my son and I will be moving into an apartment together the first week of August.
More pictures to come soon.

So we found out Mike's dad who is 81 this year does not want to fly to FL for the wedding. :sad2: So we are going to get married at the Justice of Peace here in Texas a month or a few weeks before the actual wedding so that he can see us. So now we have two things to plan although the court house will not be with the gown.

Another strange thing happened because we wanted to get a passport done for Mike. Mike's dad never signed the birth certificate so his last name is still his mom's maiden name even though his SS says Tandle. It took some pleading for a copy of his birth certificate and then all of this came out. What a surprise. So now we have that to straighten out as well. Good thing we are starting early. LOL
:rotfl2:

Ok I wanted to see if any of you have used fake flowers. I can accross a company called Plumerias Wedding Flower Boutique and it had some good reviews in Wedding Wire although thre were not many posts.
My mom was impressed with the quality of the flowers in the close up pictures. Here are some of the bouquets what do you think about them?

I took out the images from Photo bucket so you can not longer see them here. I am cleaning up my photobucket as I rule out what I do not want but if you are interested in the flowers check out the link below.

This is a link to the website.

I am still waiting to find out if Roberta can even do my request but if she can
I think I will be able to get more flowers then I thought I would If I were to use real flowers.

I have been checking my email all day to see if Roberta would be able to make my flowers.

Check out this quote I just got back from Roberta.
Your bridal bouquet with added crystals: 130.00
Toss bouquet: 35.00
1 Plumeria hair flower comb: 13.00
1 Maid of honor wrist bracelet corsage: 22.00
1 Bridesmaid wrist bracelet corsage: 22.00
5 bouts: 37.50
Petals for flower girl and tables: 15.00
4 Wrist bracelet corsages: 88.00
2 Gazebo arrangements for sides (removable, round bouquets to use for reception) 100.00
Insured, Priority shipping: 40.00

Total: 502.50
Mine will be a little less since I only needed 2 extra corsages. $458.50

I think this is a great price! All other flowers gave me this same price for just one bouquet and a swag without me adding unique flowers like orchids and plumerias or jewles. Or I am told I have to spend over $1,000 just for them to deliver.

Let me know wha you guys think...I have not signed anything yet :flower3:

So she is going to send me a sample corsage and I will let you know how that looks and feels and post a picture when I get it.

Janine, that is a fantastic price for all those flowers! And i love the pics you posted of them. they are all so beautiful!:goodvibes
