Have been searching all over the net and am surprised by the lack of info/reviews on the Junior Suites at SoG. I will be sure to rectify this after my trip next June but in the meantime if anyone has info/thoughts/reviews/photos on this topic please share!! How comfortable are the queen sleeper sofas? Is there a TV in the seprated bedroom? How long a walk is it to the pool? etc. etc. etc.

Can some one tell me the difference in the jr suites and the regular suites?

Jr. Suite has a master bedroom with a king size bed and a private bathroom. The living area has 2 pull out couches and a kitchenette area with a microwave and sink, along with another bathroom.

Family Suite has the same thing, except the living area is larger and includes a Murphy bed.

Palm Suite has 2 standard rooms with bathrooms attached plus a kids' room with 2 bunkbeds. The living area is larger with a flat screen tv, full size dining table, breakfast bar and a full size fridge.


Also, if the sponsor faxes a letter in saying they allow their guests to check in ahead of time, the guests can check in prior to the sponsor. Worse comes to worse, if that doesn't happen, the sponsor can always call and verify information on file and they can check in. That usually only works day of check in though. You do have to provide some sort of payment to check in....so if the sponsor is paying, you either have to provide a credit card, or wait.

We may be hosed then. My dad (sponsor) is paying for all rooms and they already left so I can't get his card. Ugh. Would've been nice if they'd told him that when he called about the check in letter. Oh well.

Thanks for the information MMTSKA !! Any honest assesment of the comfort level of the queen sleeper sofa? I see you are from Pittsburgh. Only been there once but I am a die-hard Steelers fan. Can't wait to get a pic of Mickey with a terrible towel. I love the patriotic Mickey statue. Any chance they sell smaller versions of it?

Um, I've never actually slept on one of them, so I have no idea Sorry!

I am originally from the Pittsburgh area. It'll always be home, but I'm totally digging the fact I can go to all these silly theme parks I bleed Black and Gold!!

They don't sell smaller versions of the Mickey unfortunately either Wow I'm unhelpful today lol!

I wouldn't be too worried. They said when we pay for our rooms that we can pay with our card and my dad could pay for his room with his card. And the last 2 times we were there we paid for the rooms upon checkout. They just held them on the card until we checked out bc we were paying cash. IDK if that applies now but I wouldnt worry.

I am going to ask this question again. I hope someone has the answer. We are a party of 7. I know we can only buy 6 promotional tickets to the parks. Do we buy the additional park hopper at SOG at regular rate or do we have to buy them at the park.

If at the park I will order one park hopper from undercover tourist because they give you a little break..

If we can buy at SOG, do we just ask for it when we get the paperwork...hopefully 2 weeks before we go??

You can buy one additional at SOG. If you buy it at SOG you won't pay any sales tax - not true at any other location, so the little deal you get at UT isn't really a deal.

When you fax in your ticket request, I believe you can get any type of tickets you want. All you have to do, is write out on the form the type of tickets you want, they don't all have to all be the same type of tickets. Pretty sure you can get any type of ticket SOG sells, unless the rules have changed recently.


Anyone who's been recently heard anything about the possible expansion of the Aafes at SOG? Awhile back I saw it mentioned in this thread that the store might be renovating/expanding, but then never heard anything else about it. Any news about that?

I don't know what Aafes was like before but here now and no sign of pending or current expansion.
Ate breakfast & dinner at Garden Gallery (buffet) and both were good. Will likely do breakfast there each morning.
Just amazed at the size of this resort! I don't know what wing we are in, maybe Palm? 4th floor, golf course view if that tells you anything.

That would more than likely be Palm! Can't wait to be there in a month!

Has anyone heard if they are going to extend the Salute to the Troops promotional tickets passed mid September? We were able to take advantage of the $89 per night room rate regardless of rank. It would be a real plus to get promotional tickets again. We are going for "Food and Wine".

No word yet. I am following a couple of Facebook pages that is providing information when it becomes available. The woman that admins one of the pages emailed someone and had a meeting about it, but no definitive answer.

I want to book for February, but I'm waiting for a discount.
