Shades of Green and Disney gift card ???

I am wondering IF you can use Disney gift cards (bought at Target) to pay for a Disney trip while staying at Shades of Green ???

I think yes .... BUT my neighbors just booked a trip in September during 'free dining' and insist they have free dining included in their package. I 'thought" that you couldn't get free dining while staying there. ?? So now I'm questioning what little I think I know about SOG.

Anyone have experience with this?? Thanks!

You cannot have free dining while staying at Shades of Green. Your neighbors are mistaken, they might want to check on that, lol. As far as using a gift card. As far as I know, you cannot use a disney gift card to pay for your Shades of Green hotel or tickets bought there. You could however, use it to purchase park tickets in Disney (but then they would not be discounted) Or, another option, depending on how much is on the gift card, use it for meals in the park and souvenirs!
We are staying at Shades this September and I can't wait!

The answer is "no, you cannot use Disney-branded gift cards for payment for anything on SoG".

While SoG is on Disney property, and does share certain things in common with other Disney resorts (i.e., EMH), they use Army MWR systems to process their card payments (other facilities on WDW use a dedicated system provided by Chase to process the Disney GCs), which means SoG only accepts credit/debit cards bearing the MC/Visa/AmEx/Discover logos at the front desk/on-site restaurants.

A notable exception is the Exchange store at SoG does accept Exchange-branded GCs (as well as their in-house "Star Card") for payment of retail merchandise.
