Shade of Green or All Star Movies w/ Dining

Poly is a very easy walk. My one reason for not doing the dining plan at SOG is that the meals are at SOG. You will spend time going back and forth to the parks and SOG for meals if you take the plan. I think it's a great deal if you spend a lot of time at the hotel, like if you're there to play golf, but not if you want to maximize your time in the parks.

Thanks everybody...I'm leaning toward staying at ASM with the dining plan. When my mother viewed ASM on the web the look on her face told me she was compromising for my kids. I really think for my kids sake ASM is a better place. I told her once we start doing Universal and Sea World that we'd move to a 3 or 4 star hotel. Anyone know how far SOG is from Sea World and Universal?

It is not long. All the parks are in the same general area. I think it is approximately 20 minutes give or take and depending on the time of day. We have stayed at Sog and visited Sea World many times. I suggest you check out SoG while you are there so you can decide if you want to stay there next time! :sunny:

You're so positve. Being that Florida is I think the farthest state we can stravel to within the U.S. we have to plan for that looooong plane ride and don't know if we'll ever make it back there again. You're right though I should check it out in case we decide to make the long voyage once again. Thanks...never really thought about it that way.

I haven't seen the gold leaf info on their website, I heard about it from someone who had used it previously. Bdcp is right, you do need to eat all your meals, or at least the ones on the plan, at SOG, and you do waste time going back and forth. I used the plan because my kids wanted to go to a park in the morning, go back and change to swim suits, and hit a waterpark in the afternoon. Maybe at a Disney resort with more frequent buses this would be doable, it's not doable at SOG. We were spending way to much time waiting for buses and it always seemed that we had just missed one.

The walk to Poly isn't bad but it depends on your kids. I saw many parents pushing strollers on the path. I had the drama queen with me and her royal majesty does NOT appreciate being asked to walk! If we caught the shuttle it was all right, otherwise she was impossible. Her twin didn't mind the walk at all.
