Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone had experience bringing a stroller shade and rain cover for the Disney park strollers? I know I could rent a stroller from a separate vendor, but would rather not deal with it on the buses. The park strollers are fine, but that shade is barely there, so I was thinking of bringing my own that would extend out a bit more, and a rain cover other than my Mickey poncho! Any experience?

How do you plan to create a shade that stands horizontal on its own? Really curious because I'm also renting a park stroller. I'm going with the double though so that dd can spread out or turn sideways to get out of the sun. I also thought they had attached rain guards but I could easily be wrong.

I chose a park rental to avoid having to tote one she would have much less room in. We also need two EVCs that we will be toting already.

Well, they don't appear to have rain covers so painters plastic and alligator clips will be added to my list. You can get different thicknesses in the plastic, so if you also choose this route, be mindful that you aren't shielding your child from the rain in a sauna under that thicker plastic. Since we are going in July, I'm going light weight in case she needs to be covered for a couple minutes while we find a nice spot to avoid the rain.

Honestly, when we used strollers, I brought along an extra orange disposable poncho for the stroller. It worked just fine.

Alternately, a plastic table cloth and a few clothes pins would do the trick, and make your stroller easy to spot in the stroller parking lot.

Of course, shade is a different issue.

When I've done it in the past, I used a stroller shade extender (black sort of flexible thing that I got at Babies R'Us). It just tied on and went over the existing shade. That is my fallback, but if others have better suggestions, I'd love to hear it! As for a rain guard, again, I have one that I've used that fits over it and ties on to the handle with a sort of elastic scoop thing that fits around the front. It was designed for a Jeep jogging stroller, I believe, but fits okay. Just wondering if there were better options. Thanks for the suggestions! Alligator clips are probably a smart idea.

I think what you already have will be your best option. The alligator clips for extra hold may be a good add-on, though. I don't think anything DIY would work much better. Enjoy your trip!
