~~~SEWING my way to POFQ ~ American Girl outfits & Custom Park Bags! ~~~
Since we were able to adjust our days, I was able to make our first park day to be MK - I am very happy about this - there is nothing better than starting your WDW vacation at MK. :lovestruc
Thanks everyone for your nice comments on the Christmas Mickey inspired Ultimate bag, and the nice comments on the new MP pages. :thumbsup2
Lisa, here's the link to the page with all the fonts on it... I downloaded mine from here - and I haven't had any virus problems:
This was a really fun bag to make, considering that I am in the Holiday spirit and all. :lovestruc
I am very happy with the applique, Mr. Rocket was being especially nice to me that day - maybe he was in the Holiday spirit too???
Front - I quilted the entire bag in a fun bright green thread (Not quite lime green) and it really gives a fun twist to the whole bag:
The front zip pocket - I just have to add, that Victoria picked out the ric-rac for this top accent of the slip-iin pocket. I was really struggling with what to do here, and she just went through my ric-rac drawer and pulled these out - I think it turned out to be a really neat accent, and one of my favorite parts of this bag. I also love how wonderful Patience's stitch is... :lovestruc
Looking down into the front slip-in pocket... My only complaint about this holiday fabric, and maybe some of you have experienced this, as well... The characters just scattered about in a random placement - so no matter which way I cut, some of them ended up to be upside down. :headache:
I forgot to take a picture of the LGMH - but rest assured, it's there. :lovestruc
Now, what fun would it be if I ruined the surprise??? You'll find out soon enough. :surfweb:
Thanks!
We got our tree all set up last night... It is beautiful. The girls and I also set up my Snow Village this weekend, and with the fresh blanket of snow we received the other night, it looks so perfect and clean outside. I am looking forward to Christmas - this one will be a bit different - it will be our first "AG-less" Christmas... I'll still be giving out the few remaining items from my stash - but I know they'd rather have something else. :sad1:
I have to work today, then I have the next week off - I plan to get lots of projects done.
D~
I've been watching some of the dining threads with interest, particularily the Counter service Restaurant threads. I am trying to branch out a bit and try some hidden gems - I know there aren't many for counter service in WDW.
Also, I know that our lunch at DTD will be OOP, since there isn't anywhere left there on the DDP. :eek: Any recommendations of where to eat here? Something easy on the pocket book - if you will - but not McD's.
So, I would like some opinions... Do you have any favorites?
I don't need anything for AK - because we will only have the opportunity to do one counter meal for the 2 days we are there, and we are definately doing Flametree BBQ.
For Epcot... I'd really like to try some of the CS meals around WS, however, a lot of them aren't participating next year - which really disappoints me. I know the one in Germany is participating and so is the one in the UK - but there are others I would have loved to try, and they aren't part of the plan anymore.
So... tell me about your favorite CS meals in the 4 main parks and DTD. :surfweb:
I also thought I would add another MP page. I managed to complete them all yesterday morning - I am loving the new fonts I found - to be honest, I was getting very sick of Waltograph. :rotfl2:
Anyways, Day 3:
At DDT we really liked Earl of Sandwich. The sandwiches there are yummy! And it wasn't too expensive. Of course, you could skip your meal and just eat at the ice cream place. It is vacation after all!
I don't know what will be participating in the World Showcase at Epcot. But we had a great CS meal at the place in Morocco. It was very good. We also used snack credits at the bakery in France for some delicious pastries!
D I think more of the resturaunts will come on in late December early January. I t happens every year that restaurants are not on in December and pop up later.
We don't eat a lot of counter service but I will tell you that we enjoyed Mexico.
For DTD, I highly recommend Earl of Sandwich or Wolfgang Puck Express.
Our favorite at MK is Columbia Harbor House, AK is FTBBQ, Epcot we haven't had anything bad yet, but did enjoy the CS place in Japan in 2010, DHS is Backlot Express. Those are our faves so far ... but we've not been very experimental ourselves. :guilty:
Wait until January-ish before you get attached to the DDP list. Many places don't sign the contract until late December and I've seen things change in January and February.
EoS, I agree completely! Not sure if I could handle a sugar overload without something substantial on my stomache.... but it sounds tempting! :lmao:
Morroco? Really? Hmm... :scratchin Their TS place sounded ... not so good. Never considered the CS one...
I'm planning on hitting up the France bakery in March! :woohoo:
Yup! Don't get attached to the list just yet. It will change. :thumbsup2
I'd love to try Mexico .... but ... I'm scared that I'd love it and it wouldn't love me. :headache:
I'll comment on everyone's comments later... rushing before I have to get ready for work...
Valid concern Liddy... And since I am there with you that day... It's truly a valid concern for me, as well. :rolleyes1
DTD is easily Earl of Sandwich! It has become a staple of or trips! At MK, we love Cosmic Rays. It is one place we can all get something different. At Epcot, we like the CS in Living with the Land...I can't remember the name, but it again has lots of different selections.
At DHS, we like Studios Catering and Backlot Express. Of course the ABC commissary is good for a nice air conditioned break.
At AK, there are only 2 that we have ever tried...Flametree and Yak & Yeti.
As you see, we are not all that adventurous for our CS meals! LOL. We tend to do the same ones each trip. We did try Columbia Harbor House once, but since none of us are big on Fish sandwiches...
Nini
ok will try to wait patiently for your next big reveal popcorn::
CS options!
DTD - DEFINATELY Earl of Sandwich - get the Caprese sandwich SO YUMMY!! you get the entree, drink and either chips, dessert so we each get a sandwich, drink and then shared the chips and dessert...we actually ate there twice!
MK - Cosmic Rays - their chicken meal is enough to share with two
AK - Flametree
Epcot - I love Mexico, always get the chicken tacos!!! - China is good too, Megan's fav - and France's bakery is a great choice too, plenty to choose from.
Ok... I am at work and I have HUGE trip news....
Airfare dropped last night for our 'perfect flights'. I about died when I logged in this morning and saw that. However, eventhough it's on sale it's still about $50 over my budget. So I left for work this morning, and didn't buy airfare.
So, I've been kicking myself since and lamenting over it...
DH just came to see me at work... He bought the girls and i our airfare this morning as our Christmas gift!
Have I told you all how wonderful my dh is recently???? He's the best! We are now, officially, going to Disney... Window seats to boot!
