Yes, we have a few dolls. But really, it's only been one doll for each of us over the last 6 years... Thankfully they didn't just all show up one day.
We did a trial run of the potatoes last night to go with dinner (I made 1/4 of the recipe) and they were great! DD loved helping mash the potatoes. Mashed potatoes are her favorite food so she was very into helping. Maybe she will make them on Thursday. She can do pretty much everything except drain the boiling water from the potatoes.
We are huge carbivores here too... I am glad you liked the potatoes.
I agree that they never send out an email with what is on sale. I have gotten emails saying that they have a Cyber Monday sale but there are never any specifics. In the years that I looked at the sale, they never had any dolls on there. Just clothes, furniture and accessories. However, I have scored matching outfits for my girls and their dolls for more than half off. Plus one year I got Kit's stove for like $30 plus they also had the accessory set on a great sale too. It came with food, cooking pots and an apron for like $12. You got an awesome deal on Molly's stage. I think my girls would have liked that better than Kit's stove. If you don't get on the website very early then you can't get through. The website crashes or won't complete your sale. One year I woke up later than I wanted so I spent nearly an hour calling on the phone until I got through and I placed my order by phone. Midnight does sound like the time to get on the computer to hit the sale!
Yup, I remember all those years you're mentioning. I am still kicking myself over Kit's stove... I contimplated long and hard over it, and in the end, I decided not to.
Your new coffee pot sounds great. I am sure it will last more than a year. When my coffee pot broke last year I finally bought myself a Keurig. It is the current love of my life!

I am the only coffee drinker in the house and this way I get a fresh cup every time I want one. But if you and your DH both drink coffee a Cuisinart coffee maker was the way to go. They usually make excellent coffee! My friend has one that grinds the beans and then brews the coffee.
So far, I like it. I am really looking forward to this weekend... DH and I "splurged" on Dunkin' Doughnuts coffee for the holiday - NUM!
I can't wait to see your newest project. I am hoping to get some sewing done today too. We'll see what the day brings though!
I hope you got some sewing done... I worked all day yesterday, and then I helped DH put the livingroom back together and rearrange the furniture for the holiday. Our house isn't very big, and I am not sure how we are going to pull this off... but it will be fun. I miss the holidays of my childhood, where my huge family was crammed into the house of choice for that holiday season.
I LOVE my Keurig! For Christmas all my kids went together and bought Dad and I one. It had a problem and Keurig had to send me another one. While we were waiting for the replacement...hubby bought the biggggggg one. We now take the smaller one when we travel. This last trip to Disney we had a line outside our door looking for 'real' coffee! (DIL, SIL, Daughter and son...no strangers!)
OK...now I have to get back to work....no more computer.
Nini
LOL about the coffee line at your door.

I would have been there, for sure.
D I was very happy to see your AG collection. FInally someone with more dolls than Miss C.
LOL... I would love to see her AG collection some day.
I think I need to do some Christmas shopping in your store for her

She loves your outfits.
Awwww... I love hearing that she loves my outfits. I get the biggest thrill to hear that from kids.
I love my Keurig. I took my mini to work and we are debating a Mini for our owners locker.
LOL... I have heard a lot of great things about Keurig... I just always assumed that they were the "1 cup" type machines. I never really looked, do they brew a regular pot too???
I love the pics of your doll display -- my dd could do some serious shopping there!
I think anyone could do some serious shopping at my house. LOL
My dd does not want another doll -- she wants ACCESSORIES!!!! She wants lots of pets and some furniture. She wants me to make her clothes to match the clothes I have made for her! We looked at jammies last night as she made her wish list on the AG site and she kept saying "I don't have any of those jammies, I want Samantha to have my jammies." Problem is, I've only made Alexa two nightgowns and since I made them long I don't have left over fabric! I may have a little from one set, but it may be a short sleeve gown she ends up with!
My BFF's dd is the same way... She could really care less about the dolls - but she plays with the pets and their accessories all the time.
And a BIG GRIPE -- Alexa made her wish list and rather than writing the number down I had it e-mailed to me. It has never shown up in my e-mail and even when I sign into my AG account the list is non-existent! I'm peeved! It's not even in my spam! Grrrrr!!!!
I know you can search it and see it with out the password - but you can't make edits and change anything. I would call, or send an email to AG and let them know what happened. Otherwise you might have to create another wishlist for her - which could get confusing if others are looking it up too. I'd call AG first and see if they can resend it to you.
Tomorrow I am meeting the Craig's list lady though -- I'm getting Licorice, her bed, Cocounut, Coconut's house and a few accessories for $20 (providing it's in decent shape which she says it is) so I'm pretty happy about that. I got outbid on e-bay on my horse and I really don't want to bid higher for a used horse. I'd rather buy a new one than spend a lot on a used one.
I hope your CL meeting goes good today - I have one too - which I"ll tell you all about at the bottom.
Good grief, my dh will think I'm nuts waking up at midnight. Of course, I get headaches all the time and wake up at odd hours so I'll just pass it off as that. Or I can tell him much money I saved!
Cyber Monday is a great day for a mysterious headache.
I'm happy for you and your new coffee pot; however, I detest coffee! Have fun working. I won't get much done today -- have to get my haircut in the stupid middle of the day and need to go pick up some shirts for a BG as well. DD has a project for me tonight -- it's making a little wish pillow out of felt and buttons. I think we will fabric glue the embellishments!
I love coffee... I went through a tea spurt a little over a year ago... I still like it, but it's a PITA to make correctly and it takes so much Patience... believe it or not, I have none of that when if comes to my morning tea - so I went back to coffee - I like it better and it's ready for me when I get up.
How many serving did 1/4 the recipe make? I was going to make half a batch, but my kids don't always like mashed potatoes so I may do just 1/4.
I would guess about 4 semi-small? I dunno - my pile of potatoes on my plate is always the size of a volcano... They're my favorite. So the size is relative.
I probably did more than 1/4 of the recipe since I think I used 3 large potatoes. It was a little hard to estimate how much potato to use. Anyhow, it made just the right amount of potatoes for us for a hearty side dish.
I think Cheryl is on her way to the
Disney Store right now.
D- I can't wait to see the newest bag! Are you done yet?????
Nope, not done yet. I almost have all the pieces quilted - I am currently quilting the last piece. Then I hope to be well into the applique by the end of today. I really want to have this bag done before TG, so I can send it out right after & start working on my next bag order, since that person leaves in 3 weeks for WDW - so I am on a bit of a time crunch.
Yup! After two thousand one hunded ninety one days he's a free man. (That's SIX YEARS for those who don't want to do the math.)
Congratulations to your DS... Thank you so much for his (and your) service to our country.
My signature used to read, "Sleep well tonight for somewhere in the ocean's depths my son is protecting our freedom," and now it reads, "Sleep well tonight for somewhere in the ocean's depth submariners are protecting our freedom."
I always loved your siggy... I was reading your previous post on my phone at work, on my lunch break yesterday, so I didn't quite catch the change.
I was always a little unsure about the first version anyway -- on the one hand it makes it sound like I think my son is solely responsible for national security, on the other hand I always thought it humanizes the service when people stop to realize that soldiers, sailors, airpeople, etc. are someone's child, someone's spouse, someone's parent.
I always loved it... and I agree - it did humanize the situation.
He's applied to UC Santa Barbara. I have to check out when parents weekend is (call me an optimisit, I'm sure half of California wants to go to
UCSB) so I can work in another trip to Disneyland.
Yay!!! A trip to DL would be great.
PS

D~ Nice to see you posting on Andrea's PTR.
Waving back to cheryl.

It's great to see you posting in Andrea's PTR, as well.
Soooo, today I get to bleach my floors... I really don't want to and have no motivation to do so.... So, I wonder if it will actually get done???
And then Dh and I are running to a nearby town to look at a sewing machine for dd for Christmas. Dh talked to the guy yesterday, and it sounds like he has a good vintage sewing machine guy that he trusts with his machines - so I am hoping to get that # out of him, so I can find someone to fix Mr. Rocket that doesn't want to steal him. I have no desire to write:
The Abduction of Mr. Rocket. Anyways, here's the machine we are going to look at. It's a Singer 99-31 (the seller says it's a 99-33, but in all my research, I can't find that a 99-33 exists) - the 99 series is a 3/4 sized machine - which will be perfect for dd. It can also be converted to a hand crank, if she would like. The only thing that is bad/good about this machine, depending on how you look at it, is that because of it's size, it can't fit in a regular sewing machine table - it's too small - and it can't sit directly on a counter top, because the moving part under it would be obstructed - so it has to sit in it's case, or another case built for it - to keep it up high. I would like to have spent less than this on a machine for her - but if it's in as good of condition as this guy says it is, then I don't have to restore it and that would make me really happy right now, because I just don't have the time.

Oh and he has a quilting "shop" with his wife - it sounds like he wants to give me a tour... DH told advised him that probably wouldn't be a good idea, since I'd never leave.
D~
