I LOVE that idea! Our last two trips to Disney we stayed in time shares with the in-laws. Once at a place next door to the Lipizzaner Stallions show and the other time was at Wyndham Bonnet Creek. Both had tons of room - and from the Disboutiquers thread I've learned there are lots of great fabric stores near The World![]()
I agree - it would be a ton of fun! So, would our machines be carry-ons then?

Poor Patience!!! And poor D!!!! Frannie's friend Button is being a stinker and has me very frustrated right now. I hope Patience's repairs are quick and easy and inexpensive and that you're able to get them done while you're on your sewing break this week!
Yah, I didn't take Patience or Mr. Rocket in yesterday... I need to find a different OSMG... This one kept offering me rediculous low ball amounts for Mr. Rocket. He told me "I don't charge you unless I can fix it" - I told him that was nice.

We have someone here that refurbs old machines but you end up paying around $200 for a machine that way! But someone that refurbs may indeed have a part to sell you. You must get Patience back to her normal self!
Oh no... this guy didn't want to sell me nothing - he wanted my machine. It's a nice machine, but he was borderline harassing me about it... No thanks - I'll keep looking.

Those outfits were from a couple of years ago so chances are you didn't see them. My hand applique turned out almost perfect on dd's and I loved the leopard prints in the different colors -- they were a quilters pack and were really expensive, but for dd I sometimes splurge.
Yup - definately love the applique and love the fabrics, it was an adorable dress!

I am now in the process of trying to find some used items for dd for Christmas -- she wants the AG Palomino and likes some of the dogs and cats. I found a dog and cat set on Craig's list so I e-mailed them and am hopeful it's in good condition and still for sale. The good condition horses on e-bay are about as expensive as new ones! I'm watching some though. I even went up to the attic to get down two cabbage patch horses, but her doll keeps falling off of them -- I think they are a little wide.
I know, those horses go for insane amounts of $$... I know that target sells some that are similar for a decent price. The are with their Our Generation dolls - and even though they don't have the "fur" coating on them, they are still pretty good quality - and definately the perfect size for AGs.

I am trying to move it but I can't -- and it appears moveable -- I just don't want to overdo it and break it. I will ask Candace about it (she's the one that gave me the machine). In the mean time, while the bobbins are not the same size I am able to wind them on my old machine which works fine for me because then I don't have to rethread!
Hmmm... That is strange that it won't move. It should - I think.
Everything D makes for her AG doll dresses and her bags is hand appliqued -- you do that using a satin stitch (tight zig zag) on a regular machine. The dress I just posted with Daisy on Mickey on it are hand appliqued too. They also make embroidery machines though in which the machine stitches designs you buy out for you. Come over to the Disboutiquers thread if you're really interested in learning.

I saw that you found the Disbou thread.

that is the cutest donald, ever!
I know... I actually have the Jim Shore version - and I just love it.

OMGoodness!!!! You ladies just amaze me with your sewing skills!!! I have tried sewing in the past but my machine was of the devil I tell ya and it would break every single time I would start. (that's what I get for getting a cheap W-M one to "try")
So you both put the characters on the dresses yourself or is there some special machine that does it for you? I would LOVE to make customs like you do but I would have no idea where to start!
Welcome!!! Andrea already explained the process, and invited you to the Disbou thread (thanks Andrea - the "official Co-Capt. of my PTR)... I hope you'll continue to follow along here too.

So, I already told you all about my machine saga (above somewhere in this post)...
I spent the rest of the day cleaning and grocery shopping. Cleaned out all the appliances (except the oven - I don't do ovens), bleached my counter tops, washed my garbage cans. Josh finished mudding/taping/painting one of the windows in the kitchen. The girls organized all of our cupboards while we were grocery shopping for TG... Well, V did - A is still experiencing "technology withdrawl" from her 3 days away, this last week, at a courage retreat - so she spent her day attached to no less than 3 gadgets at a time. Once I got all the groceries put away, V and I went around washing windows, inside and outside... We have the kind the tilt in - but we got our first snow yesterday - so it was a bit chilly when we had them open. I plan to work on our office today (which is a HUGE task - it will probably take us all day, since this is where our AG collection resides). I work tomorrow. I plan to sew all day on Tuesday - and bleach my floors in the morning. Wednesday is my food prep day... So, I'll be making anything I can make ahead of time. I will be in bed by 5pm, so I can go to work at 2am on Thursday. Crazy week ahead of me, I'll be glad when it's over.

D~
