FYI, I had the ear thing going on early this summer. Meds took care of it but then it came back again and I had to redo the meds -- they just gave me stuff for congestion. It was most likely something viral. I had it happen two years before but I would get so dizzy I would almost pass out. I had to have dh come pick me up one time when I was getting a gown altered and about passed out, and then I fell while jogging and totally scraped my arm and had to wear tattoo cover makeup to cover the scratches and bruises so I could wear the said gown without looking like I was in a train wreck (and I was only jogging so I'd fit in the dang gown better!!!).

ANyway, take care of yourself!

"OK, all of these sound wonderful!! I'll have to have dd try that cake - prob not for TG, but just for fun. She loves to bake - she is my little home-maker.

I wish I had some diabetic recipes for you - but I don't... I should though, beause my dad is diabetic. He just stays away from the really bad stuff.

It sounds like you have many fun places to go for TG... And since you have a facebook acct. You should friend some of us... You know my name. I would love to look through your pictures on FB."

OOOOOhhhhhhh! I never thought to do that! You are one smart cookie, I am gonna go and (try!) do that ASAP. As soon as I get off this site....

I start making the Crazy cake with kids when they are about 3yo. The little ones like to use their fingers, after washing hands, of course, to "check" the corners and edges of the pans for any dry ingreds...and then they have to lick their fingers off...

On my way..so if you see a friend request from a Greek Goddess name, ya know it's me...not that I am, but so day I'll share the story of how I got my name...me and a bunch of puppies....:rotfl2:

I saw your friend request come through on my phone a while ago, but when I signed into FB, I didn't have any requests from you... So, I will investigate further - otherwise I'll friend you. :lovestruc

I'd love to hear the story too.

I'm sorry about your Not!SIL... That is just horrible. Some people are just like that, and there is nothing you can do about it.

I hope you're feeling better soon... That doesn't sound like any fun at all. And be careful.

The phone thing could be my fault...I went in and changed the private setting 'cause I have got a few to many emails from companies the last couple weeks, and I was told by one of the B'maids that it could be cause FB changed the private setting and if you didn't see hppts you could be hacked.

Well, I have enought getting electronic things working without any help from anyone/thing else to mess them up, so I did change the setting...
When you do get in there is a pic of the 2 girls on a bench, wrapped in an antique mink stole(DD collects Vintage, loves real fur...eats meat also...), and I made the dresses. Took about 4-6 hours. And I am the double Pooh size women in a red jacket...Anyway, if it isn't a sewing machine,or related to that, or some cameras/cooking stuff, what ever I do touch that uses the magic juice from an outlet, it tends to go defunk. Can't even get the TV on sometimes..but that has 3 flipping clickers!!! Really, I can walk across a room and turn it on, IF the silly TVs still worked that way!!!

my name...Mom&Dad both had the same name picked out for a girl baby without either knowing, and before I came along they had a kennel of Beagles dogs, all of them were of classical Greek/Romen Gods&Godesses, so when I came along I got a greek Godess name. Just one of the pack of pups...Think of Rick Riordan's kid book series. I would have fit in.

You know, I think we all just need a big meet and great/sewing weekend...I do have a timeshare that has tons of points...and I can get in to Gaitlandbug,TN,or ORLANDO...I think I could get 1 or 2 places with 3 bedrooms...I don't know any of you all, but would love, love to get together with a bunch of creative people and just make stuff!!! And most of the places have washer/dryer and kitchens....just an idea.

I'll bet you looked awesome in the dress Andrea... :lovestruc

Well, since YOU asked and since I'm in the process of hogging your ptr today, here is a pic and it is showing the arm and shoulder that is trashed -- that tattoo cover makeup cost $25 but it surely worked -- I was scraped and bruised on the shoulder and upper arm and this photo is untouched (note how enthusiastic my dh is -- reminds me of how he was in Disney!).

Hey D guess which skirt panel I did today. Only one more to do :)

ACK!!! I hope it's Donald... He's so dreamy... >swoon<

Andrea... What a gorgeous photo... That is one amazing dress. And DH should look a lot more thrilled than that to have you on his arm that night. I didn't mean that in a creepy way at all. :cool1:

I think you should just post pics of it on D's ptr -- I'm taking it over so you have my permission.

Yes, please post pics - I want to see. Andrea... Do I need to start charging you rent??? :surfweb:

D~ is a bit sad tonight... I was quilting a bag and I didn't see a pin... I hit the pin head at full throttle and I bent Patience's needle bar. Not bad but just a fraction of a millimeter - enough that I notice - you know me, I notice everything. I never knew that you could break a needle so badly that it still remains bent after it's broken... I am never that careless. I am just so sad, I don't know what to do. I tried to bend it back, but I just don't have the strength - and after my fiasco with Mr. Rocket - I am really feeling deflated. I am hoping I can talk my muscle-y DH into trying to bend the needle bar back for me. :wizard:

Since Chiara hasn't posted her Donald panel (which we all know it's Donald), and since you are charging me rent.....I will post a pic of Donald for you!
PC100013.jpg

Taking over you ptr and living vicariously through you is actually kind of fun! Do you have requests for any other pictures?

I don't know what a needle bar is, but I hope your dh can fix it. And I have a question for you, on my new machine when I wind a bobbin the needle goes up and down. Shouldn't there be a way to lock this? I can't figure it out. I guess I will have to get some pics of the machine for you so you can see if you know what I should do. I'm too cheap to buy a manual for $15. My bobbins were only 38¢ each :) On my regular machine the needle automatically locks when you go into bobbin winding mode. I hope Patience is all better today. I hate seeing her

And just so you don't worry too much, Donald was on the front of ds's shirt:

Do you want to see pics of the backs of the outfits too? YES you said!
Since this was my favorite outfit of dd's and since you insist, here are the back sides:

I know I have a pic of dd and Donald at MK too! Shall I go look for that as well?

Lookie what I found!

You really should wake up and start posting on your own ptr. Before you know it Ginger might start showing her pics with Donald!

Andrea I love this picture it is fabulous.

D~ I am so sorry about your needle bar.

Sorry I spent time with the family last night and ordered my groceries. I promise to post Donald later today.

Well the boy is making noise but I may be a mean mommy and let him play in his room

OK - I would totally wear that dress if it would fit me! I just love it, and I dont' remember ever seeing pictures of that one. Soooooo cute!

Patience is not any better today, I am searching online for a new needle bar for her - and possibly one for Mr Rocket too - since Josh seems to think that's his problem, as well. I wish I could find them locally, then I wouldn't have to wait. There's a guy the fixes old machine then sells them on Craigslist - locally - I am half tempted to send him and email and see if he'll just fix the machines for me. :confused3 I just want to cry. Patience still sews, so I shouldn't cry too much, I can still use her. But this would be the perfec time to get her fixed, since it's TG week and I am super busy to do much of anything sewing related anyways.

D~

Oh, and Andrea, about your machine... I think your handwheel needs to be loosened to engage "neutral" on your machine. If you're doing that, then the "stop motion clamp washer" is in there wrong, and is not engaging when you loosen the handwheel. Make sense?

D~

OMGoodness!!!! You ladies just amaze me with your sewing skills!!! I have tried sewing in the past but my machine was of the devil I tell ya and it would break every single time I would start. (that's what I get for getting a cheap W-M one to "try") :rolleyes1

So you both put the characters on the dresses yourself or is there some special machine that does it for you? I would LOVE to make customs like you do but I would have no idea where to start!

We are going to a cabin in the mountains. Check in is at 4pm so I am going to either buy the smallest turkey I can find, or make one here at home before we go up and just heat it up when we get there (though that doesn't seem very Thanksgivingish to me!). I will make your potato recipe and cut it way down in size, rolls and stuffing and not sure yet what veggie. Have to do something the kids will eat, so likely broccoli, carrots and cauliflower medley.

Wish we going up the night before, but I work until 7:30pm and an extra night's stay would be too much $$$.

Alrighty, off to go finish my auction item. Almost done except my top stitching isn't straight on the bodice in one little part so I may redo it as it's driving me nuts. The foot on my new machine has no guide so sewing 1/8 inch gets tricky. It sews straight, I'm the one that apparently doesn't :headache:

Just fry your turkey! This is the first year in quite a few that we won't be having fried turkey for Thanksgiving (and I'm a little worried my kids will complain)! Anyway, when we're here for Thanksgiving, DH goes to a big turkey frying party that some friends of his throw (the Dad is a VP at Coors) - he always has a good time and comes home with our turkey fried and wrapped in tin foil. It keeps just fine that way until the next day when we eat it.

The phone thing could be my fault...I went in and changed the private setting 'cause I have got a few to many emails from companies the last couple weeks, and I was told by one of the B'maids that it could be cause FB changed the private setting and if you didn't see hppts you could be hacked.

I LOVE that idea! Our last two trips to Disney we stayed in time shares with the in-laws. Once at a place next door to the Lipizzaner Stallions show and the other time was at Wyndham Bonnet Creek. Both had tons of room - and from the Disboutiquers thread I've learned there are lots of great fabric stores near The World :)

Poor Patience!!! And poor D!!!! Frannie's friend Button is being a stinker and has me very frustrated right now. I hope Patience's repairs are quick and easy and inexpensive and that you're able to get them done while you're on your sewing break this week!

We have someone here that refurbs old machines but you end up paying around $200 for a machine that way! But someone that refurbs may indeed have a part to sell you. You must get Patience back to her normal self!

Those outfits were from a couple of years ago so chances are you didn't see them. My hand applique turned out almost perfect on dd's and I loved the leopard prints in the different colors -- they were a quilters pack and were really expensive, but for dd I sometimes splurge.

I am now in the process of trying to find some used items for dd for Christmas -- she wants the AG Palomino and likes some of the dogs and cats. I found a dog and cat set on Craig's list so I e-mailed them and am hopeful it's in good condition and still for sale. The good condition horses on e-bay are about as expensive as new ones! I'm watching some though. I even went up to the attic to get down two cabbage patch horses, but her doll keeps falling off of them -- I think they are a little wide.

Oh, and Andrea, about your machine... I think your handwheel needs to be loosened to engage "neutral" on your machine. If you're doing that, then the "stop motion clamp washer" is in there wrong, and is not engaging when you loosen the handwheel. Make sense?

I am trying to move it but I can't -- and it appears moveable -- I just don't want to overdo it and break it. I will ask Candace about it (she's the one that gave me the machine). In the mean time, while the bobbins are not the same size I am able to wind them on my old machine which works fine for me because then I don't have to rethread!

OMGoodness!!!! You ladies just amaze me with your sewing skills!!! I have tried sewing in the past but my machine was of the devil I tell ya and it would break every single time I would start. (that's what I get for getting a cheap W-M one to "try") :rolleyes1

Everything D makes for her AG doll dresses and her bags is hand appliqued -- you do that using a satin stitch (tight zig zag) on a regular machine. The dress I just posted with Daisy on Mickey on it are hand appliqued too. They also make embroidery machines though in which the machine stitches designs you buy out for you. Come over to the Disboutiquers thread if you're really interested in learning.

A fried turkey sounds really fattening! I know you can rent friers around here though. I've never tried it. I need to discuss with dh what he wants to do -- he always makes the turkey as I have no clue what to do with one.

Dh temporarily lived in Newport for Department head school (6 months) and something else before we were married. I visited him in DHS but I remained living in VB. We both worked then and had no kids so flying to see each other every month was no big deal. When we were in RI from approx fall of 2006 to 2008 we lived only in Saunderstown. We drove over the bridge alot but didn't frequent Jamestown. Been to Trattoria a couple of times though. I must just look like some famous movie star :rotfl2:
