I'm Catching up!
Love love the bag!:goodvibes
Yeah for the internet working again!!!

So sorry your not feeling well! Please take it easy! Get some rest!!

I just found out about the fall festival at DD's school. It's next Saturday. I'm freaking out. Thank goodness I have stuff left from the last craft show I did! But I want to make a million things before then...and I need to finish up my orders!!!

oops posted before I was finished.
Good news is I'm going to Disney this weekend!!!
DH is going to Ohio for a hunting trip...and well he needs a ride to the airport in orlando!!! :goodvibes

The kids and I are going by ourselves and spending a night (off property). So excited....and scared at the same time! LOL! I've never been all by myself with both kids. :scared1:

Sorry all... Internet is back up and running... Yay.

I had a rough morning and ended up in the ER.

I've been having some pretty unusual and very painful pains in my ribs for the last few weeks (DH says months)... Sometimes, it's so painful that I can't stand up straight - and even once I broke out in a heavy sweat. Then I have to take 2 Aleve, followed by 2 ibuprofen, followed by 2 tylenol, every two hours until the pain stops... It's really horrible. Well, I've been ignoring it - hoping it would go away. Then over the last few weeks, I've noticed that I am short of breath, almost all the time. Last night, as I was falling asleep, I started to feel as if someone was sitting on my chest. When I woke up, I felt fine... then as I was sewing this morning, I started feeling a lot of pressure again. So, I called my Dr. to make an appt... the receptionist freaked out and put the triage nurse on the line... who told me to go immediately to the ER. Even told me not to drive... I drove anyways - bad me - but there wasn't anyone else around to take me.

So, you walk into the ER, saying you are out of breath and chest pressure... They really don't waste any time seeing you. I was quite embarassed. They did a whole gammit of tests on me... EEGs, blood tests, IVs (Oh yah, when I tell you that my veins roll - I really mean it - 3 tries for the IV)... Chest xrays... They were concerned that I had a heart attack last night, or a blood clot in my lungs. I was there for 4 hours, which I know, isn't much compared to what others go through.

I called DH on the way, told him it was no big deal - stay at work... so, of course he shows up.

Turns out, I have some sort of chest infection/inflamation, that started at the bottom of my chest and has managed to spread into my entire chest? Never heard of such a thing. They put me on some sort of pain/anti-inflamation med for the next few weeks to see if that takes care of it.

All I know, is that it still hurts, and I still have pressure in my chest. And I am glad that all my other tests came back OK. I am also quite embarassed that I went through all of that for nothing.

So, no sewing today. Maybe tomorrow.

D~

I'm very glad that you're okay ... but it's scary nonetheless.

Your story sounds similar to when I had walking pneumonia ... I never felt sick ... but I felt like I was having a heart attack and went to the walk-in clinic, who asked if they could call an ambulance (no thank you, I'll drive myself). Turned out, it was walking pneumonia, but I had all the same symptoms you described. :confused3

I hope you feel better soon! And don't be embarrassed. It's always better to be safe than sorry. What if it was signs of a heart attack? Then you'd be sorry you didn't get it checked out and a big fuss was made. ;)

Just recover and then show us more pretties so I can keep moving you back to the bottom of my list. :flower3:

Thanks everyone for your kind words... I Really appreciate it. :)

I still have lots of pressure in my chest, but no pain. However, my pain would come and go so often, I really have no idea if the lack of current pain is because I am healing or if it's just becuase I don't happen to have the pain right now. ;)

I have to work today. I thought about calling in last night, but I only work two days this week (today being one of them) and it's only a 4 hour shift. As long as I take it easy (which I always do - they don't pay me enough to work any faster), I should be fine.

Karen... I am sorry that I won't be able to get the Belle bag out in the mail until Saturday or Tuesday... Could you send me your addy though, so I can get it ready? Thanks! :)

I managed to get the entire bag quilted yesterday before I left for the Dr. - I got this new quilting foot, so I thought I would try it out. I didn't get a chance to look at the stitching to see if it met my standards - but I will look at it today. I can see, in some cases where it might just be easier to draw the lines on (the smaller pieces) and sew over them... but it seemed to work very nicely for the larger pieces. So, we'll see. Now I have to applique and put it together... I hope to finish it by the end of the weekend, depending on what projects DH has on his mind to get ready for TG.

I hope you all have a fabulous sewing day today... And go take a peek at Liddy's PTR... she is learning how to sew, and she could probably use some cheering on. :)

No worries :goodvibes In no hurry here. Just take it easy!
Feel better soon. Will PM you now!

D...please take care of yourself!!! That sounds like something you do not want to mess with!

I will keep you in my prayers for a quick recovery.

Part of me wants to fuss about you working, but the other part would do the same thing in your shoes. Perhaps let management know in case working agitates your chest, so that they can maybe be accommodating or have someone on standby in case you need to leave? :confused3 And yes, definitely take it easy!!!

I'm not Karen, but my addy is on it's way to you so you can mail me an awesome duck-butt bag. :lmao:

I'm excited! I only know of a presser foot ... so there's also quilting ones? Boy, oh boy, I'm in for lots of adventures! :lmao: Can't wait to hear what you think about it!

D, they don't want to see my mediocre attempts after viewing such amazing work you do! :lmao::rotfl2:

You will do fine. I took the 2 kids on a plane by myself to WDW in January 2010 and aside from missing DH it was a blast.

D take it easy today.

I know I will be. I know it's supposed to be super busy at MK tomorrow.
Plan to go to AK during the morning...then MK at night.

I just don't know if I should take the double stroller.
I hate trying to get through main street & the hub at parade/firework time.

It's such a pain. DD is 5 and can walk. But I'm worried what if both are too tired to walk. I can't carry both. DS is 3 but he is almost the same size as DD!

D- Hope you are feeling better today!

to you and your DH! thank you both for your service and duty to our country!

D~ hope you are feeling better this morning :goodvibes

Awww... Thanks Lisa. :)

Thanks for the well wishes everyone... I survived my day at work. Which is good - I didn't over extend myself at all.

They finally released our Thanksgiving schedule... Totally over my allowed hours per week... and yes - I complain about that sort of thing. I'm sure I annoy them... but if you are going to make me work Thanksgiving day and black friday... Sorry - I am going to complain that you are waaaay over my max hours - so they can then get rid of my Monday or Saturday shift that week.

Target used to be a really great company to work for, but this holiday season, they have really gone the sneaky route, and I am not so sure I enjoy working for this company anymore. D~ might just be on the job hunt soon. It's not the actual working that has me angry, it's entirely the way they handled it.

Ok... D~ must go applique something now. ;)

D~

OMG Dorine... just read about your scary day. You really should go easy as that is not something you want to mess around with. What has your doctor said? Hopefully the antibiotics will take care of it right away.

I think Cheryl needs to come over and give you some TLC:goodvibes

So sorry About your schedule. That is annoying. I hope you are feeling better. Also since I am in complete awe of the amazing work you do i had to tell you in my sewing class I made 2 pillows and 2 tote bags. Now if only I had your skills, well a girl can dream.

I'm so sorry to hear about your lingering pain and ER scare! I'm glad they have figured it out and hope you will be feeling 100% very soon!

Regards,
C.

Thanks everyone... I really am doing OK. I am hangin' out, doing a bit of sewing, then doing a bit of computering, then doing a bit of resting/icing my rib cage, then a bit more sewing... Not doing any lifting/bending/reaching/swearing... Ooops, didn't mean that last one. I am eating/drinking fluids and taking all of my medicines...

I am very glad that my hobby is very non-impact. :thumbsup2

This is awesome!!! I am so excited that you are taking this class! You'll be making many more fabulous things - I can just feel it! :thumbsup2

Soooo... D~ was laying awake again this morning... I hate it when I do that. But it's when I seem to solve all the world's problems. :confused3 So, I finally figured out something that's been bugging me for a few days, which makes me excited to get to work in my sewing room.

Also, I have yet to do any sewing on Mr. Rocket... Since I purchased him strictly for my appliqueing, I haven't had a chance to do any appliques - all he has done is transfer all my old bobbins from the Brother's bobbins to the Class 66 bobbons that Mr. Rocket takes. I must say I was a bit disappointed in his bobbin winding skills, seeing as Patience winds the most gorgeous bobbins - however - Mr. Rocket's bobbins look much better than the Brother's. So, I guess I will just have to accept mediocre bobbins. :confused3 Anyways, I have one more applique to prep - then I will be spending my day appliqueing on Mr. Rocket. I am very excited to give him a whirl.

I am pretty excited about this Tween/Teen sized autograph bag I am making... quite honestly, I also think it will be the perfect sized adult bag for someone who doesn't want the Ultimate bag, and just carries a few things into the parks. And I am even more excited about the theme of this bag - it's super fun and themed around my 2nd favorite character/character - or my favorite "Disney" movie - which ever you prefer - if anyone cares to guess. Lisa - you can't guess because you know. popcorn:: Anyways, I am very anxious to get into that sewing room today. :thumbsup2 If all goes well, I should be able to post pictures later. :lovestruc

D~

Can't wait to see the new bag!
We are on the turnpike right now...almost to the beeline & the airport. Then off to AK.
If you hear any screaming it the kids and I riding dinosaur :scared1:

:surfweb: Well can't wait to see what you are doing.

Karen have fun at Disney.

I can't wait to see the bag D. I am debating moving my sewing machine upstairs but Probably won't because then I will have to run down 40-50 times for something I need.

Can't wait to see what you are working on.

I think I will work on more panels of the Christmas skirt I have 4 more to do.

You would have to tell me this... SOOOOOO Jealous!!!!!! OK, so I will pretend I am walking in your shoes today - if they get a little tight and your feet blister, you'll know why. :thumbsup2

And you better not be driving and surfing the web at the same time girly... :surfweb:

Me neither - LOL
