~~~SEWING my way to POFQ ~ American Girl outfits & Custom Park Bags! ~~~
Hey, Mary Jos is 4 hours, 11 minuertes, With Bathroom breaks from me...and only 43 min from my youngest DS at Winthrop U. in Rock Hill,SC.
Also if you are making a trip there I want in! There is a store about 10 min farther west, still in Gastonia, from Mary Jos that sells threat, tons and tons of thread, and interfacing, and embrod. stablizer...MJ's has the card for the store near the check in counter where you get your cutting slips.
And I have been told there is a ribbon place up there. Sew Creative fabric/quilting store is very,very nice, it is a little NE of Charlotte, and there are several different fabric warehouses up there.
However, they have proved a lot elsive to me! I spent a few hours in the libary with the state bussiness directory looking for fabric mills, ribbon mills, and so on. It was for S.Carolina, and N.Carolina has one, but I haven't gotten my hands on it.
I will ask DS to ask his Costume Prop in the Theater Dept at Winthrop where there are outlets, IF they know...they wouldn't let him use one of the Hus.Viking Designer 1's in the shop 'cause they told him " you don't have the skills to know how it works"..so I took my spare one up to him and he took it to class....so not sure how much they will tell him. But I am going up in a few weeks so I can ask them. I am a lot more forcefull when seeking fabric then any 20 yo male kid...
And add me to the pattern list for the bag! I did some a long time ago, but never made a pattern...but I have a ton of leather and some Disney Resort fabric from MouseSurplus. Had/have bags and stuff planned...in my spare time- insert wild manic laugh here....:rotfl2:
WELCOME BACK!!! We've missed you! :thumbsup2
OK - BIG ANNOUNCEMENT TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With pictures!!!! :surfweb:
D~ <--- nope, I didn't make anything today.
I have to wait until tomorrow that isn't nice.
Can't wait to see your big announcement
I grew up in Lovell. My parents used to own the campground on the lake. Is your cabin on Kezar?
By the way D, loving this! You are so very talented :) Gonna finish reading now, just was so excited to see someone who knew where my hometown was! Its such a small world :)
No we aren't on Kezar Lake (the most beautiful lake in the world:goodvibes) but we are near Heald Pond (on SlabCity Road) which flows into Kezar. The road that our house is on actually has hiking trails and a preserved mountain that the GLLT purchased. It is just so pretty up there and most of our neighbors are transplants from MA and RI:lmao:
Now which campground did they own? Is it next to the beach for the town residents? I can't remember the name of the road:confused3
Sorry D for getting OT. I just get excited when someone else knows about Lovell:lmao:
Also, today is a big day, IRL... Allison has her last B & B performance tonight, and we have a lot of out of town guests coming to see her - most of which she doesn't know about. So, I am pretty excited! :thumbsup2
D~
:woohoo:
OK, I will tell you all what it is, but you are going to have to wait for pictures until this afternoon.
I got a new sewing machine yesterday! :banana: :banana:
I can't tell you what it is, because that will ruin the surprise, but I will tell you that it's not the 401a I have been dreaming about. However, I will tell you it was on my top 3 list, so I am very happy about it! :cloud9:
Also, Allison's performance went fantastic last night. :lovestruc My adopted parents drove 3.5 hours one way to see her, and they brought their foreign exchange student from Belgium. Also, our next door neighbors came with their kids. And the girls' youth group friends came - so we had a full house! It was lots of fun and it was super nice to catch up with family news. I did not get any pictures of this performance, because I forgot my camera at home - and I went straight to the performance after work yesterday - so it actually forced me to enjoy the show, for once, rather than having the camera up to my face the whole time. :rolleyes1
Babynala... I did see your request to repost my custom Donald outfit... I will try to do that this morning before I go to work. :lovestruc
Love it! :goodvibes
I love the custom Donald! You are amazing. I only can wish I even had half your talent and skill. Donald is going to go nuts when he sees you in this outfit.
Yeah for the new machine. Can't wait to see what you got.
congrats on your new machine....so what are you going to name this one ?
happy you got to enjoy the show with all the family in tow!
Grats on the new machine! Can't wait to hear more about it!
And I so want that Donald outfit! :eek: It's awesome! :woohoo:
I can't wait to see your new machine. I haven't even pulled my new one out of the box (yes, the girl who gave it to me has it in the original box!). I have been busy cleaning :(
Wow! Such a cute outfit! Since this is my first "D report" and I have to admit, I didn't read ALL of it, I have never seen one of your adult things. Love it! Do you make any Chip n Dale stuff? Thats all my son cares about and you never see their stuff, always the fab 5 or princesses.
OK... So, as I was taking pictures off my camera of my new machine, I realized that I am a horrible Diser and I forgot to recognize my Pixie Duster, and show my gratitude. :lovestruc
So, first of all, I want to apologize to Lisa and Megan for taking so long to post pictures... :grouphug:
So, the other day, I get this cute little envelope in the mail. I hadn't ordered anything on Etsy recently (that I hadn't received yet, anyways) - so I wasn't sure what it was.
Well, I opened it up, and here was this ADORABLE Donald Duck pin... He is so cute... I bottom half of his body is on a spring, so if you move him around - he does a little dance. Uuuuber cute!!!
IMG_2183.jpg
And I found the perfect place for him... Which is where he will stay, until I locate my locking pin backs, then I will lock him on for good. :lovestruc Isn't he cute???
IMG_2185.jpg
D~ <--- Who is just flattered that Lisa and Megan thought of her while on their trip - so, Thank You So Much - and Thank You for being such a great friend to me. :lovestruc
