Nini
I'm glad my ptr can be so educational :teacher:

Andrea should be more informative then. :lmao:

Hey, look on the bright side, at least that D~ girl who seems to think this is her ptr hasn't been posting lately. Maybe we all finally got rid of her for good.:lmao:

Hmm.... :scratchin Good point.

I've always got your back :goodvibes

yay for finishing the bag!

sounds like a nice V- Day....low key is good!
we went to my mom's for dinner - she cooked and didn't want help with dishes - bonus for me!!!

we are leaving tomorrow for DLR, bringing my laptop, so if I get a chance will try to check in

hard to believe your trip is almost here

Have a great trip today Lisa... I hope you and Megan have a great vacation! :lovestruc

<- I am just charming. :> Sorry, I can't find the picture of the smilie vomiting. Maybe Cheryl could teach me how to make one.

Well, I have no choice but to think I am charming - seeing as everyone tells me all the time, it must be true. :confused3

I if were still following your ptr I would let you know that I made dh a lovely shrimp and pasta dinner last night But like Liddy, I am boycotting your ptr. I really am only posting b/c this is MY ptr. And I will be glad to continue to post MY pictures here.

That sounds lovely... I hope you do continue to post your pictures.

I still here as well D . . . Forever! BwaaHaaa!!!!

ROFL! Did you see that I sent a shout out to you in the POFQ thread???

[Your bag sounds amazing. I can't wait until you are able to share the pictures of it. I am drooling in anticipation.

I am very excited about it, as well - I was even a little sad to see it go, that's not something that normally happens.

[Congrats on 20 days, only 21 days for me.:woohoo::woohoo: Isn't it strange that we Disers start getting sad about the end of our trips before they even start.

I know, but half the fun, for me, is the planning... So it's like a 6 month long trip - LOL... So, technically, it's almost over.

[Well thats enough from me, I have some capris to finish, and a bag, oh and that flag you volunteered me for.

Rofl - I'd forgotten about the flag I'd volunteered you for - how's that coming along? LOL Are you making yourself a bag for your mini trip????

[Oh I think I might be able to get Lidian back for you . . .

Really???? :surfweb:

[I got Reisling!!!

I am almost afraid to admit that I have a small stock pile in my house - I think all my neighbors do... we never know who's house we will be at when we decide to get into the wine fridge... so everyone needs to have enough on hand to make all of us happy.

Not sure if I posted that I am still posting because I have no life LOL.

LOL Yes you do Chiara... :thumbsup2

today I am feeling overwelmed because I can't figure out how I am going to get in all this sewing DD wants for our trip.

I know how you feel - I still have 7 shirts to do, 3 bags and Allison's Dug wallet (that I almost forgot about). I am not sure if I am going to get them all done or not??? I am hoping to do 3 of the shirts today - since they will be easy appliques.

I have exactly one outfit done

Chiara - if anyone can do it, it's you.

Though yesterday the boy had a set of shorts from our August trip on and they still fit so I am going to go and check out our August Outfits and see if I can get by with making him a few new shirts

That would help, if he could still wear a few of those things.

I did, um, at least I think I did. :confused3 Anyways, its Loree. Or Lori, Laurie, Lorie, Laura if you prefer. Doesn't really matter to me, I answer to almost anything . . . within reason.

You did Loree... Now that you told me again, I remember - I just couldn't find it.

I don't think we are in the parks on the same days. We moved things around a little bit after my FIL/MIL decided not to chance it with his health problems. I think we have it set now, but that could change again when we see BIL/SIL on the weekend. That's part of the reason why my planner isn't done. This is our plan (with ADRs) so far:

March 9 and 10: Travel days, hoping to make it to Knoxville, Kentucky the first day and then try to find some place close to Daytona the second day.

March 11: Check in. Probably later in the day as my BIL wants to visit Daytona beach and the speedway first. Either going to hang out at the pool or go to DTD once we do check in. My SIL wants to go offsite for dinner but I am going try to convince them to do a restaurant in DTD since we wanted to eat there but it didn't work out this trip.

March 12: Magic Kingdom - Crystal Palace breakfast before park opens, Whispering Canyon Cafe for dinner. Must do rides not figured out yet, that'll probably start this weekend. I know that IASW, Buzz Lightyear and POTC will be on that list, as well as all the mountains.

March 13: Epcot - We will be there for early EMH and try to get Soarin' and a couple of other rides in early. DH, DS and I really want to explore more of World Showcase as we spent most of our time in Future World last time. The original plan was to send the kids back to the resort with MIL/FIL after dinner while DH, BIL, SIL and I did WS at night. Now we will probably come back after dinner at The Wave in time for a few rides and Illuminations. I will definitely be having at least one 7 layer Margarita at some point this day!

March 14: Animal Kingdom - Dinner at Tusker House. Not sure if we are going to hit early EMH or not. Depends on how tired everyone is at this point. We will either check out other resorts or DTD (if we didn't make it there on Sunday) and then go to AK around lunch or go to AK early and then resorts/DTD in the afternoon before going back for dinner.

March 15: Magic Kingdom - Try to hit any rides we missed the first day, see some parades, souvenir shopping, etc. Monorail over to the Poly for dinner at 'Ohana.

March 16: Hollywood Studios - Must do TSM as it wasn't open the last time we were there and we have heard so much about it. Probably the most anticipated park for the kids - have to do Indiana Jones, Star Tours, Muppets, ToT, RnRC and Lights, Camera, Action. Dinner at 50's Prime Time Cafe. Love to see Fantasmic too if it works out.

March 17 and 18: Travel days, heading back home.

Total bummer - NONE of our days match up at all. :(

My BIL also wants to hit a bike shop and take in a hockey game in Tampa, although that was when my FIL was coming. He'll likely be on his own if he does those things. The last time we talked to him, he also mentioned that he might have to hit a Honda dealership because his CUV will need its first oil change at some point during the trip.

It is going to be an interesting trip as DH, DS and I are the 'up and at em early, go all day and night' types and BIL, SIL and nieces are more the 'get up later, let's take a break, go to bed early' types. The two girls are not adventurous at all and BIL/SIL want them to be with our DS as they will try more things when he is around. We've only done day trips with them in the past, so as I said, going to be interesting. I can't wait!

Just had to add - we got our Mickey mail today!

Whoot for Mickey mail!!! I know, we are early risers too - and we like to stay all day and do it all. However, since this is a longer trip and we also have some longer park hours in there - there might be a few days that we take a rest in the middle of our day. :confused3 We've never done that before, but since we will be at a (relatively) small resort, we might be able to justify it, so we aren't wasting so much time traveling.

Yeah for 20 days!! It has gone quick.

Sounds like a nice Valentine's day. My DH headed out of town yesterday morning so I got to hang out with the kids last night and watch them eat all the candy they got in school. I did give my husband the valentine card I made for him before he left. My DD thought it was cute but I'm not sure what my DH thought. I just could not spend $3.50 on a plain card. Of course if I had shopped for one before Monday afternoon I might have had more success.

I'm so jealous of everyone headed down to the world in the next month.

I know how you feel, I rarely buy cards for DH... they are so expensive - we didn't exchange cards for Valentines this year even - it's just been so hectic aroudn here, the thought didn't even cross our minds.

Oh, that's right. This is Andrea's PTR, so I can still follow. However, I am no longer reading' D's PTR. Nope, not gonna happen.

Figures....

[I bought a whole bottle of Riesling at the wine store. Along with a bottle of something else that we drank most of last night.

Yah - that Riesling comes on fast - I can be sitting there and not feel a thing, and then all of a sudden WHAM! There it is...

This falls into the new stuff you learn from reading Andrea's PTR!

Nini

Thanks Nini - you always know everything.... From now on, whenever anyone has a question, I'll just post a link to your PTR. :thumbsup2

BIL has been planning the driving days and when I saw this, I had to go back and check what he sent me. Sure enough, he said Knoxville, KY. In my mind, I was thinking of the Knoxville in TN. Now I have to check and see which one he really meant.

Isn't it amazing what you learn from the DIS? LOL! I seriously had to check this too. We talk about too many Knoxvilles in this household - KY, TN, IL, IA.

Yep - I am a bit smarter now too.

I think I will hang around a bit too, but if you take too long to post pics of the newest cool bag...

Yay for 20 days! I always get sad when planning the final days of our trips too. It is terrible to think about having to leave before you are even there...crazy, really it is.

You have a lot to do, but you are a super woman. It will get done!:thumbsup2

Thanks Deb... I know, I think it's part of the Diser Disease... we all know we have to come home.

I know I have a lot to do, I really need to get to it too. LOL

I must be magical to because I also turned into a ipod!!

You are quite talented!

Andrea should be more informative then.

I agree... She always has a lot of information, just not always what you need when you need it (a bit scatterbrained maybe????)... :confused3

I'm glad my ptr can be so educational

That it is, Andrea... :rolleyes1

Hey, look on the bright side, at least that D~ girl who seems to think this is her ptr hasn't been posting lately. Maybe we all finally got rid of her for good.

No worries, still here. :lovestruc

I worked all day yesterday... B-O-R-I-N-G...

I did manage to make my packing list though... :lovestruc The hardest part is trying to figure out what needs to go into each carryon, and what each person is wearing - so if our luggage is lost, we have something to wear for a few days. Not to mention all of our electronic batteries and chargers. I might start assembling our carryons over the next few days, to see how I am doing on space. Right now, that open suitcase in our bedroom is over flowing, and that scares me a bit. I know, I threw every pair of shorts I owned in there a few weeks ago - so the majority of those can come out - I just wanted to have them in a location that I could find them when it came to truly packing.

I also want to assemble my Toy Story Carryon bag, and get some of my items in my travel organizer.

Today, I am going to work on my hideous capris, and try to make them less hideous. Then I am going to work on 3 of our t-shirts - since they are all coordinating, and simple - I hope to finish all of them today. It's the pirate ones that are going to take me longer... :rolleyes1 They will be next.

:artist: Packing List :artist:

Don't forget to pack your paint!!! Since your reputation will precede you to WDW I'm absolutely certain that they will want you to paint crosswalks on Main St. Maybe you'd even get a free FP for your efforts!

:artist:  :artist:  :artist:

Really...no new posts since yesterday am??? Did Cheryl kill your thread????

;):rotfl2:

So I am almost done with the Mickey Skirt outfit. Just need to do the shirt.

I think I am going to do something for J and I need to work on my MiniPlanner.

MY PTR is very lacking with pictures this week.

though I could post my last order I shipped out yesterday I guess.

Hope you have a wonderful Friday.

Maybe... Glad I bought a lot of paint for this trip. :cool1:

Really...no new posts since yesterday am??? Did Cheryl kill your thread????

;):rotfl2:

I am pretty sure she did... It happens all the time, really. It's about time someone is brave enough to speak up - maybe she'll admit she's a thread killer now? :rolleyes1

Thanks Chiara - I can't wait to see pictures!

Have fun with your MP... I had to go through mine and redo about half my pages, since WDW released new hours earlier this week - I haven't printed the revised ones yet though.

I know what you mean - I've been lacking in the photo dept too...

I hope you have a wonderful Friday, as well.

I think D~ spent the entire day yesterday shopping for paint.

Oh, no, I already had some... Actually, Josh and I went to the vet to get Ruf his food... Then we went to the meat market to order a half hog and some hamburger... Then we came home, had some lunch and took a nap. It was wonderful! :lovestruc

Today is going to be a busy day, as well. Josh has his follow up appt. with his Dr. We are both a bit anxious to talk to him, because of what the surgeon told me after the surgery - which they have yet to tell Josh. We'd really like some clarification. As of now, Josh is set to go back to work on Thursday - with lots of restrictions. I think he is ready, as long as he has all the restrictions, and sticks to them.

Then, this afternoon, the girls and I are meeting one of Alli's friends and her mom for lunch... We keep meaning to, but something always comes up and we have to reschedule - this is the closest we have come to it actually happpening. LOL Afterwards, I might be taking the girls and I for hair cuts... I don't want to do it too far away from our trip (my hair grows super fast and I don't want it to be over grown before we leave). :rolleyes1 I'll probably do the girls' today and then do mine next week (Oh, the girls are off of school today and Monday).

I am hoping that there is enough time in between Josh's Dr. appt and lunch to swing into Hancock fabrics, so I can grab the fabric for my Toy Story UPB... I should have just ordered it online, but now it's cutting it too close, and I really need to get it in person.

Believe it or not, I did manage to get started on my appliques yesterday... I didn't get very far on them though. I thought I had purchased all the shirts I needed, but I discovered that I need 1 shirt for Allison yet... So, I need to find that today while we are out n' about.

Oh, and I am hoping that my bag is delivered today... It's in the general area, but track and confirm still says delivery by tomorrow... I can't wait to show you all pics - it's a pretty cool bag. :cloud9:

Hello friends

Mimi is here in Charlotte for a quick visit . . . so yesterday after I got done with work we loaded the boys into the car and headed for Mary Jo's.
Holy Moly! For you regulars at Mary Jo's - they've completely changed the main floor area and the registers. I had a hard time figuring out where they'd moved stuff - but I think when all is said and done, the new set up will work better.
Mimi found the two fabrics she was looking for and although they didn't have any of the new Lorax Dr Seuss fabrics, they did have some new multi-book Dr Seuss fabrics. Finn picked out a bright yellow scatter patterned one and we got him enough for some easy fits and some left over (Dr Seuss week is coming up at school). I also picked up a coordinating orange fabric (I think I'll make them roll-up pants).

From Mary Jo's we headed to Long Creek Mills (FYI - they have business cards at Mary Jo's for LCM). All I can say is, "WOW." Lidian:worship: THANK you for telling us about this place!!!!
We walked in and I immediately took out my phone because I knew y'all needed to see this:
1f0f7ae3.jpg

This is just three aisles - I couldn't fit the others into the picture. AMAZING!
The $40 we spent there bought us:

After Long Creek Mills we went to a sewing store called Sew Much Fun. They sell Bernina machines and gorgeous higher end fabrics. Let's put it this way, their policy is to NOT sell anything Mary Jo's does. I found two other Dr Seuss fabrics there (and paid $9.99 a yard - Mary Jo's Dr Seuss fabrics were $8.99 a yard). I was drooling over the machines when one of the ladies started telling me about a machine they'd just taking in on trade that they were fixing up in the back . . . I have very little confidence that I'd be able to afford said machine (If I remember correctly it's a 530? and comes with the embroidery module), but they said they'd give me a call when it was all done and ready for sale . . . :confused3 what does a phone call hurt?

So - do these pictures convince any of y'all that a girls weekend in Charlotte is in order??? Just think - we only hit TWO fabric stores yesterday. There are 2 Hancock locations, 3 Hobby Lobbys, at least 4 Walmarts, a Jo-Ann's (really there are two, but one is a drive), plus a couple of other higher end stores. . .

Ohhh! Ahhhh! If my house sells I'm there! If my house doesn't sell I will have no $$ to fabric shop :sad1:

Argh! Is it Dr. Suess's birthday next week? I thought it was in March. I have two options for dd -- I have some knits in dots and stripes that's an aquaey (that's a word, you know) to make an Olivia and I have a wee bit of Suess fabric as well but it's cotton so not sure it would mix well. What to do:confused3 I'd actually seriously love to visit when Lisa B comes to town, but I am not getting my hopes up. I should rather be working on updating my resume since I may need to go back to work full time.

Sooooo jealous! Wish we had something like that around here. I'd even be happy with just one store. And I know I am better off than some since I live in a city and am a relatively short distance from the border to the US.

Yes, I've gone and done it... I've redrafted the UPB and made a mini version. I must say, it's a bit small for me, personally, but I am tempted to make my Toy Story bag into a mini, just to try it out... It's super cute!

Finished size is approximately 9"x 9".

Anyways, I know you all have waited a while to see this bag - I hope it is worth your wait, because it was a super fun bag to make and I am very happy with how it turned out... Everything came together in the end, better than I hoped it would. :)

IMG_2660001.jpg

Because the bag is mini, I had to make the strap narrower, which means I had to find an alternate plan for the LGMH... What's better than a "Hidden LGMH"????

WOW!!! LOVE the Mickey in the mirror! LOVE the wallet! LOVE the apple fabric lining! LOVE the apple zipper pull! Your customer must be SOOOOO happy with this!!!

I finally made a few ADR's for my May trip. I wasn't sure if I wanted to do a couple of character breakfast meals or not. It is easier to do a buffet with an other adult but in the end I figure we would really enjoy them so I booked CP & Tusker House-both for before the parks open. Also booked a few other meals. And I updated my simple little one page chart I use for planning that my coworker likes to call my "color coded matrix of fun".

I have a friend that lives in FL that will come to see us when we are there with her DD(12). We are all going to go to LegoLand. I'm spinning some ideas around in my head for what to make for that.

Marianne I am trying to talk to DH into a week long trip to the Charlotte area during one of the race weeks so we can do both races, fabric shopping and having fun.. I am still upset I had to cancel my birthday trip.

I'm working on that house thing for ya ;) Oh! Did you say your renters are moving out? Or am I crazy? Anyway, I know some very responsible people looking for a 1 week rental in August . . .
My mom has also said she'll keep her eyes and ears open for prospective buyers :)

Dr Seuss's actual birthday is March 2nd. It's a Friday this year. So the preschool is celebrating the M-Th (27-1) . . . we don't have preschool on Fridays.

Visiting - I do hope you can come down for a visit. Maybe Michelle can come too and pick you up on her way down the east coast? :confused3

OMG! How absolutely fabulous is THIS?????? WOW! :worship: LOVE it!

How fun would that be!!! I think a trip to WDW might be cheaper though.:lmao:

It just might be cheaper - but possibly not . . . Hancock & Jo-Ann's take each others coupons . . .and Hobby Lobby. Mary Jo's has some fabulous deals. And I think one could DEFINITELY save a TON of money at Long Creek Mills on their embroidery thread (or sewing thread, or serger thread). . .

Ack! I deleted your Legoland paragraph. . . we're going to Orlando for June 2nd (DH's cousin is getting married) . . . I'm angling for a trip to Legoland (since there is NO WAY Finn will have grown enough to make Magic Kingdom for the day worth it) . . .I'm 99% sure the in-laws (they're Disney-haters :( )would rather do that than Disney.

Because the bag is mini, I had to make the strap narrower, which means I had to find an alternate plan for the LGMH... What's better than a "Hidden LGMH"????

You have done it again D, the bag is fabulous as usual.:thumbsup2

It's a good thing that you already sent it to the new owner because I can see Lidian "barrowing" this bag because it matches he phone case so nicely. LOL.

OMG! How amazing!!!! I bet your customer is super happy with this! I'm so jealous!!!

9X9 is like the perfect size! Grrr, why didn't I think of this? :guilty:

Totally love the idea of the "hidden LGMH"! Brilliant!!!!!

Yeah, I would have totally stolen it. It would totally match my EQ 3GS case (and future 4S case), my EQ notebook, my EQ phone charm - that I can't use since there's no where to apply it on the iPhone, and my EQ bag I bought at Walmart. Not to mention my EQ t-shirt. And I think I have some other EQ stuff lurking around. Oh, and my new EQ book.

Now I must sulk. I want this bag so badly. :guilty:

But D & I have those machines that will only cooperate when using Gutermann thread.:snooty:;)

I found a great deal on tickets for legoland on mousesavers-you have to buy by 3/31 but the tickets are then good for a year. Buy 1 adult get 1 child free and the kids aren't an adult until over 12. My May trip is just my DD(9) and I. We are all going to DL for the 1/2 marathon in August. I considered going to Legoland out there but the older 2 aren't Lego fanatics like DD and I didn't really want to pay for the 5 of us to go and we have so much else we want to see in CA. I've been trying to decide what to make DD. I thought the Kona Dimensions fabric might be cool to use.

Sounds like it would look perfect on a EQ Mini UPB:thumbsup2

Have you seen her in the parks? My youngest & I saw her in 2010. She was awesome!
