~~~SEWING my way to POFQ ~ American Girl outfits & Custom Park Bags! ~~~
I just wanted to let you all know that I didn't take Josh in to the hosp. today. He chose not to get it checked out - against my better judgement. He did call the nurse, who just said to keep an eye on it.
:magnify: Which you're probably looking forward to doing. :crazy2:
First of all let me tell you how cute I think that the capris and shorts are. I really had no intention of making anything for this trip (except another bag) but now that I have seen those capris I must say that they have inspired me. How fortunate that I just bought a couple of capris at Goodwill yesterday.
Hoping that Josh's site isn't infected. On my last c-section (I've had 3) I noticed the site was getting red. I called the doctor and they told me the same thing the hospital said to you. I kept it as clean as I could and put triple antibiotic on it. It looked a lot better within the week. If you see any fluid weeping (especially if it is thick and/ or yellow) don't even call the doctor, take him in right away.:thumbsup2
Here I was hoping I'd be taller than someone. :sad2: Maybe one day I'll have a friend I'm taller than. :lmao:
Are you seriously shorter than I am??? Cool... See, our big mouths make up for our shortness. :rotfl2:
D~
So I hope you guys don't mind hanging out with tall people. I am 5' 7":lmao::rotfl2:
I know... Thanks for the well wishes... It's offical - he's stir crazy... He is out on the deck, running power tools, helping Allison build a volcano for extra credit... :eek:
Yes, I had to drive them to town for supplies... :surfweb:
:eek:Hope it isn't infected! Did the nurse suggest you mark around the red edge now to see if it "grows"? My doctor put me on an antibiotic after my 2nd bunion surgery when it was red. I think it might have just been dry skin as I had that one done in Nov-it was SO itchy. I didn't mind the doctor being extra careful. With the pin sticking out of my foot I had a direct line to the bone and I knew I didn't want in infection in the bone.
I completed a small project today... I really wanted a pair of shorts to coordinate with the Pixie Dust that Marianne sent me... Unfortunately, I couldn't find the fabric she used, so I just used some of my own - hopefully it will be OK???
Love your shorts!!! And still love your shirt!
Thanks!!! It's really great to see you back posting, we've missed you around here! :lovestruc
:hug:You're so sweet to say that-especially with all you've got going on. I was in a funk after getting my Mac back from the Apple store. It's got a nice new hard drive. BLANK hard drive. Not the end of the world but a pain. I was good about backing up my photos and YCMT patterns but nothing else. I'm most disappointed about all my digital movies in iTunes that I hadn't backed up. Hopefully Apple will get those in iCloud soon-I guess they are still negotiating with the movie studios. I've got to google instructions and figure out how to get the movies on my iPhone and iPod back onto my Mac.
I think I might actually sew something this weekend. One of my coworkers had an epileptic seizure in December and fell out of bed. She damaged something in her neck and needed surgery. She asked me today if I could make her one of those rice bags you heat up in the microwave. Sounds like a great project-easy, use up some scraps, doesn't have to be perfect or fit anyone perfectly and will be well received.
Then maybe I'll be in the mood to think about sewing something for DD for our May trip. My friend in FL will visit us when we're there & we have decided to go to LegoLand. I might keep that a surprise and make an outfit for that. DD has told me she doesn't want any dresses.:sad2:
I know... Silly man! I now have a volcano sitting on my diningroom table... Completely encrusted in concrete! :eek: I about :eek: when I walked into the kitchen last night, and he was mixing concrete in our kitchen sink. :confused3
so I guess you new job is driver about town :thumbsup2
No worries... I get to haul above volcano into town tomorrow. I told Josh that he gets to help Allison carry it to her class. popcorn::
when can he go back to work....bet you are counting the days :lmao:
Not sure yet... I believe the Dr. said the 3rd of March. We'll know more at his appt on the 17th. Once he goes back to work, he will be on light duty for an additional 10 weeks after that.
I don't know yet, I have to look what I have around in fabric and what shirts I can cordinate them with. I just bought a pink tink shirt so maybe that one.:confused3
That would be super cute!
I hope it doesn't either... I am so nervous because it's a direct line to his spinal cord, and I definatly don't want that getting infected.
Actually, when I cleaned it last night, it looked MUCH better. It still :eek: but I am starting to get used to it. I am just so relieved to see him sleeping much better. He's actually more comfortable in bed now, and doesn't have the be propped up on pillows.
I can't imagine... I hope you are able to get your movies back on your computer. I can't say I have ever had to do that, so I am not sure how it is done.
I am glad you've found a project that interests you. :) And I bet your coworker will love it! :lovestruc
Yes, you should get to sewing for your trip - it's coming quickly!! What about a skirt similar to V's Goofy skirt??? It's kind of trendy... :lovestruc
Just wait until you all see what I am working on now... It's so hideous that I am not even sure what I should do with it. I just know that if I put it in my carry-on, I will get to enjoy extra special treatment from the TSA - and if I put it in my Checked luggage, it will get searched. LOL I might rip it apart and try again. :confused3 All I know, when I brought it down to show Josh last night, I was in tears because I was laughing so hysterically. :rolleyes1
Cell phone ramblings (again) - if you're interested...
I have to work all day again today (yuck)... So, I probably won't get back to the sewing room until tomorrow. But I have to bring the volcano to town... :rolleyes1 And actually, since our contract is officially over with our cell provider (Josh still has another 6 months to go) - I am going to go out in search of a new phone tomorrow. I really want an android & wi-fi enabled phone for our trip, it will make our lives so much easier. Believe it or not, Walmart has a pretty good price on plans, and they have the phone I want for the girls and I ($35 total for all 3 phones) - so I am going to check them out. They are advertising unlimited talk/text/data for the first 2 lines, then $20 for each additional line/mo. Since I have 5 lines, that would make our bill about $30 cheaper every month (but then I have to add on the family allowances and the phone protection) - so that might make it a bit more expensive than what we are currently paying, but it's unlimited everything. :confused3 I am just not sure about going through Walmart for this sort of thing. I know that Target has Tmob in some of their stores, so I might go check that out, so I can get my discount with it.
That's all I will ramble about today. :surfweb:
D~
OMG Josh sounds just like my G. He would do something like that. He hates not being busy.
Good luck with the Cell Phone quest.
Um - what on earth are you working on that has you :rotfl: ??? Hmm?
Glad to hear Josh is starting to feel better - right? If he's making concrete volcanoes, etc. :confused3 Ooooh! I know! :idea: You can give him sewing projects to work on for you while he's home! :rolleyes1 what? :confused3 not a good idea? :rotfl2:
Hope work is okay today . . . I have to clean up the dining room table so I can cut and sew a little later (hopefully the boys will cooperate). I still need to figure out what I'm doing for Valentine's shirts for the boys and I have YET to make them their Star Wars outfits from that fabric I bought at Jo-Ann's . . .
Oh! Which cell provider do you currently have?
Happy to hear Josh slept better :goodvibes
oh my, concrete in the kitchen sink....that could of gone SO wrong :scared1:
ok, so what are you creating now?...you could never make anything hideous!!
good luck with the cell phone issue....that seems like a good deal! do you have Best Buy close by? they carry all the different phones and plans :thumbsup2
First - a HUGE thank you to Marianne... She sent me the left over squares from doing Phay & Finn's Mickey Mouse decoupage jeans... I cut out a few squares of my own too, so these capris would coordinate with my Donald UPB and sweatshirt.
Secondly, these capris were inspired by a pair of Mickey ones I had seen a long time ago - I loved them so much... And then Marianne did her's and I loved them too - so I knew this trip could not be done with out a pair of these, Donald syle, of course. :lovestruc
Cute! I have always done mine with frayed edges but I may have to try a pair like you did. And I really like that pocket!
Love the capri's!! I'm trying to catch up again on the Dis!
My dd is sick again...
She had a fever/cold 2 weeks ago and now it's starting all over again!
Hope your dd is on the mend:flower3:
I'm getting the idea that you like Donald Duck.
Hope Josh is doing OK today. Hey, I have an idea!!!! You work at Target. Target sells thermometers. You are at work. You get an employee discount BUY A THERMOMETER:wizard:
Um, yes, the photo really does not need to be posted ever again... Marianne is adorable - but me OTOH - nah... I might have to photoshop another body on it. :wizard:
D~
Since you are busy working today and have a sick dh to take care of at home I thought I'd help you out:
Let me know if there's anything I can help you with :)
:rotfl: You guys kill me sometimes!
D~
Can't remember if I commented on your capris and shorts yet, but they are both really cute!
And you can add me to the short brigade. I'm 5' 2.5". The last time we measured him, my DS was about 1/2" shorter than I am. He is definitely gonna pass me this year. Sigh.
Looks like a great trip planned. I'm also doing a solo trip with my daughter the same week. Hope we have good weather!!
:rotfl2:
Hey Andrea - can you photoshop me to Mickey Mouse?
Oh crap, I misread and thought you said Minnie :( The kids are home from school right now and I work tomorrow, but hopefully I can get it done over the weekend. Hopefully this will hold you over for a bit (and I don't have photoshop so these are not done well):
It might give her the idea of what she'll look like in her shorts. Oh wait, Donald isn't wearing shorts....that could be a problem. I hope D's PTR doesn't get censored!
