~~~SEWING my way to POFQ ~ American Girl outfits & Custom Park Bags! ~~~
You can borrow them when we all go on the cruise
but they would be too short for me at 5'6"
Great idea! And I love the ship!!!
:hug:
I made full-length jeans for my boys -
Basically you take out the inseam or out-seam (whichever is easier) and then you zig zag stitch the squares on however you want (or satin stitch if you don't want a frayed looked after washing them). I have tried two different methods for holding the squares in place while I'm sewing - Pinning like Crazy and small squares of heat n' bond lite. Hope that helps!
Those look great. I love bold and colorful. I'll have to try a Dorrrine size pair.
And Judy - for reference, D~ and I are very similar in height. . . this is probably going to get me in trouble (posting this pic) but here are the two of us (with Ginger's babies! - Cheryl, has she heard from them lately? :confused: ) when we got to meet in MN this summer:
Seriously, that's a photo that can't be posted too often. Once a month at the absolutle minimum.
Do you think the twins would like skirts to match Dorrrine's collage capris?
I call minnie shorts for our WDW trip! :thumbsup2
happy Josh slept better, hope the new sectional will make it even better!
even though he's crabby this morning....hope that improves too :hug:
enjoy being all comfy on the new furniture tonight :goodvibes
Thanks!!! But ack!!! Don't tell me that! What about in the mornings and evenings??? Glad to see you're still following along Stephanie... I am still anxious to hear about your trip. :thumbsup2
Well, maybe in the early early morning, or after the sun goes down, but it's hard to say! It was a little cooler this morning than it has been, about 56 degrees, but I'm about 2 hours north of WDW. I didn't wear a jacket to work, so it wasn't too cold to me! It got a little cool at night when we were there, but not really cold. The weather was actually perfect for the parks.
Our trip was nice, but I'm used to low crowds in January, and this was the most crowded I'd seen it in a while! Pop Century was sold out the first night I was there, and you could tell. The food court was always packed! I'll try to post a picture when the DIS is cooperating a little better:goodvibes We don't take a ton of pictures anymore, we go pretty often so I guess we just don't think about it a lot. We are even thinking about not renewing our passes this year, maybe taking a break for a while :scared1: That feeling probably won't last long though...
I'm enjoying following along! I don't post a whole lot, but I'm here, and enjoying you PTR a lot:cool2:
I completed a small project today... I really wanted a pair of shorts to coordinate with the Pixie Dust that Marianne sent me... Unfortunately, I couldn't find the fabric she used, so I just used some of my own - hopefully it will be OK???
so D~ how's the new furniture....or has it sucked you down into the comfort and won't let you get up :) hope Josh is feeling better tonight :goodvibes
Love the capri's!! I'm trying to catch up again on the Dis!
My dd is sick again...
She had a fever/cold 2 weeks ago and now it's starting all over again!
Awww Karen - I hope dd is feeling better soon. It's never easy when they are sick. :hug:
Love the Capris. You are inspiring me to make a pair ;)
Good luck with the furniture I am off to get the kids to school.
Thanks Chiara... I hope you do make a pair. They were a bit annoying to make - but I tried them on again yesterday (they could have been about an inch longer... :confused3), but they are super cute and I can't wait to wear them. :lovestruc
Yippie on getting the new furniture. I hope Josh is able to catch up on his rest.
He did get a lot of rest yesterday... I am going to update on him below.
The furniture came... I will take pictures later. It was so nice to have someone else haul it out (they broke a leg on our sectional when they were carrying it out - LOL) and even better to have someone else haul it in.
The capris turned out great! You are going to be so well dressed at Disney!
I hope that the new furniture arrives on time and looks great in your house! Glad to hear that Josh got some sleep last night. I hope that the new furniture helps him.
Thanks Diane! :)
The furniture did arrive - it looks way awesome. It's much bigger in our house than it is in the show room though... as in, all of our feet dangle when we sit on it??? Even Allison - and she has the tallest legs of all of us. It wasn't like that in the show room - so I am not sure what is up??? We feel like little people sitting on it though. :rolleyes1
I have to admit...being 5 ft 10 I was one of those who said..."Capris?" LOL....
Nini
LOL Nini... When I tried them on yesterday, I think they could have been a bit longer... The bottom of the ruffle falls right below the bend in my knee - oh well, they are still cute.
Those look great. I love bold and colorful. I'll have to try a Dorrrine size pair.
Seriously, that's a photo that can't be posted too often. Once a month at the absolutle minimum.
Do you think the twins would like skirts to match Dorrrine's collage capris?
Um, yes, the photo really does not need to be posted ever again... Marianne is adorable - but me OTOH - nah... I might have to photoshop another body on it. :wizard:
I love your ideas for Dorrrine... I think you should do it!
Your daughter did such a great job with the shirt design, and I love the skirt :lovestruc
Thanks! I will let dd know -she will be thrilled!
I call minnie shorts for our WDW trip! :thumbsup2
Whoot... Dibs are filling up fast!
happy Josh slept better, hope the new sectional will make it even better!
Thanks Stephanie... Well - at least I'll be able to wear my sweatshirt to and from WDW - LOL. :lovestruc
Ack!!! How sad not to renew your passes... I think WDW seriously needs to consider adding another park - it's just getting too crowded and uncomfortable.
Glad you're still following along! :lovestruc
so cute!
just got a phone call from my mom...my half sister (dad's side) oldest DD is expecting triplets...naturally!!! we aren't close, but hopefully can get to see them after they arrive later this summer.
Thanks! That's awesome about the triplets - how fun to spoil them!!! Congratulations!
How adorable!! I love the shorts!!
Thanks LIddy!!
LOVE the shorts!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE them! I want a Mickey pair for our trip :)
Thanks Judy.... Of course we love you for who you are. :lovestruc We wouldn't have it any other way! Thanks for the compliments on the shorts, and the pic of Marianne and I - it's definatly not the most flattering photo of me, but that's OK - I am who I am.
I will be doing a Josh update below...
ALWAYS Judy
so D~ how's the new furniture....or has it sucked you down into the comfort and won't let you get up hope Josh is feeling better tonight
The furniture is awesome! Although it is much bigger in our house than it was in the showroom... All of our feet dangle when we are sitting on it - even Allison who has the longest legs of all of us. It's weird because it wasn't like that when we sat on it there??? I am not sure what's up with that??? I might have to call them, because it feels like it is made for giants. But as far as comfort - it's awesome!!
i love love love the donald shorts they are adorable.
Thanks Chiara! :)
OK - Josh update... I am supposed to go back to work today - but I am not sure that is happening? Josh was able to take his bandage off yesterday for the first time - it looked OK at first (besides the fact that I have a huge squirm factor, which seems to get worse the older I get), but then when I looked at it again last night, it looks like it is possibly getting infected. It's starting to get red - about a 1" circle all around the wound. NOt only that, but they didn't use stitches to hold it closed - I think they may have glued it - and it seems to be seperating in spots??? I am not sure - but I think I am going to call in to work today and possibly take him back to the hospital - if for no other reason than to have them look at it, and clean it up. They never took the bandage off before he left the hospital in the first place, so the area never got cleaned - I am not sure I am happy about that, because I really think they should have looked at the area (at least), cleaned it up and put a new bandage on it. So, we might be spending our day at the hospital again. I will keep you all updated. He might wake up and it might look better than last night???
The furniture did come last night. We all really like it a lot. After they left, we all sat down and watched 2 episodes of Home Impovement... It doesn't get much better than that. LOL Of course, we all had to play musical chairs (except for Josh - he stayed put) and test out to find our favorite seats. I did mention above that the furnture seems really large, compared to what we sat in at the showroom, all of our feet dangle off the bottom... Kind of makes us feel like children. LOL Josh seems to think the cushions will squish down after a while, so it won't be so tall??? I dunno - I've never bought new furniture before... :confused3 All I know, is that my legs need to be about 6" longer to touch the ground.
I think those are all the updates for today... I will try to let you all know later what is going on with Josh - whether we take him back in, or not.
D~
OOH I hope Josh's site isn't getting infected crossing my fingers.
I was going to agree with Josh. You don't know how long it was in the show room and how many people sat on it. I would give it a chance to squish up.
Thanks Chiara - I really hope it isn't infected too. I was really worried about him last night, because when he came up to bed at about 1am (he was sleeping in the recliner downstairs), he said he was really chilled. We seem to have misplaced our thermometer, and I was under the electric blanket, so when I felt him - he was cold. I know that work isn't going to be happy with me (I told them that I might not be there today) - but Josh's Dr. doesn't get in until about 8:30am and I have to work at 9:30... so that doesn't give work much of a chance to find someone to replace me. I feel bad, but Josh can't drive - so there really is no other option.
D~
Since Josh is still sleeping, I thought I would do a quick trip related update...
I purchased our Photopass preoffer CD this morning - since this was a good discussion on my PTR a few weeks ago, I thought it might be good to let you all know that I decided to order the CD on my own. :thumbsup2
D~
Um, yes, the photo really does not need to be posted ever again... Marianne is adorable - but me OTOH - nah... I might have to photoshop another body on it. :wizard:
There you go being modest again. MIMIMUM of once a month.
:confused3 Of all the things I THINK OTOH might stand for, none of them are suitable for a G rated board.
I love your ideas for Dorrrine... I think you should do it!
I think I will. (Sure wish the basement was a little warmer!)
OK - Josh update... I am supposed to go back to work today - but I am not sure that is happening? I hear you on the squirm factor. My sister was a nurse so I think she got all of the medical genes. Hope you make out well at the hospital.
If you think a good laugh would help Josh I could post a photo of my wallet. (It has a couple wonky parts but is functional. I go back and forth between starting over or using it for my next trip, and seeing if there are any adjustments I want to make and then re-doing. I don't have your perfectionist qualities.)
:dance3: CONGRATS on the furniture. The only furniture we had ever purchased before retiring was a bedroom set. I really felt like a grownup two years ago when we bought our very own dining room table and hutch. (A lot of other furniture, too, but for some reason I really wanted the dining room table and hutch.)
HOpe Josh doesn't have an infection...best to get it checked out and have his incision looked at too!
love the new furniture! I agree the cushions will squish down a bit with time!
Hope Josh is okay!
And please, I COULD have posted the pictures we took at Target that night :rotfl: I think we both look pretty cute for a last minute get together when you'd been sewing all day and I'd been traveling (and from my ILs no less)!!!
It just means we have to take more pics this summer when we have our get together in Charlotte :)
I agree on the furniture - it just needs smooshing down :)
Oh yeah - Judy - I'm posting here because I've tried to post in your TR and it gets messed up every time! I'm going to send you a pm!!!
