Glad he can come home today. There is nothing like being home.
Curious what snacks does he wantAnything good

THanks everyone, again.
No big plans for today.
I have to run to town this morning and get groceries for Josh - he left me a list of what he'd like to snack on while he is stuck at home. He made me promise last night that I would call him before I go to town, and if they are ready to release him that I would come and get him before I go grocery shopping. If that is the case, I am kind of afraid to leave him home alone today to go back to town... Sooooo... I think I am going to sneak to town really early and get groceries, I can just pick up Allison on my way to get Josh from the hospital, it's a lot out of my way, but I'd feel better about it.
I have no idea when I am going to start on my next projects - it will depend a lot on how Josh is doing and how comfortable he is. I might be able to start on some of my t-shirt appliques - it would make me feel a little more at ease, if I could get some of those done. Especially the simple ones.
Thanks again to everyone who kept me occupied at the hospital yesterday, I really appreciate it. It made my waiting time so much easier.FYI... I cleaned out my inbox before we left for the hospital, and when I got home, I had 283 texts in there. LOL That's quite a bit of texting for me. 99% of those texts were from Disers.
D~
ROFL - here's his list:
-Twizzlers
-Tuna
-Small dill pickles (not kosher)
-Onions
-Miracle Whip
-Oscar Meyer harad salami
-Sharp cheddar cheese (sliced)
-Triscuts (plain)
-Rocky Road icecream
-7 grain wheat bread
Actually it's a pretty good list... I see some tuna and salami sandwiches in his future (not together though - LOL).

Glad that Josh's surgery went well and he will be home sometime today. For someone who spent alsmost 2 weeks in the hospital at one time, home is a much better place to be.
That list of groceries has my mouth watering. I love tuna and right now a nice tunafish sandwhich is calling my name. I have mustard and pickle relish, but I will need to run to the store and get some tuna and mayonaise.
Oh by the way, only about 31 more days until Disney.![]()
He must be feeling better already--thinking about food!
Hopefully, his recovery will be quick for both of you!
Glad to hear that Josh's surgery went well and that he will be coming home today. I too am surprised by the fact that they kept him overnight. My FIL had some minor heart surgery a couple of weeks ago (the reason they are not coming to Disney with us now) and he went home the same day.I hope that his recovery goes well for both your sakes. His grocery list made me chuckle, especially the first item!
I'm glad you had tons of people to help you pass the time! I enjoyed our texts yesterday.
Mmmmm! He's got good taste!
Thanks again everyone... I busted him out of the hospital this afternoon, we stopped for Chipotle for lunch, and he came home to take a nap (I admit I napped with him for a while too). He is currently still "napping", I doubt he will get up again today - he is a pretty tired guy and happy to be sleeping in his own bed.
Now, I hope Josh can stay comfortable until the furniture is delivered on Tuesday afternoon - I am a bit nervous about this, because it was difficult to get him positioned so he could nap comfortably. According to the Dr. he met with this morning, he might have to go in and do the other side of his neck at a later date - they didn't like what little they saw while they were in there.
I hope to start a small project in the sewing room tomorrow... possibly appliqueing some Tees for our trip.

So glad Josh is home and resting. And glad you were able to work on some projects!
Mmmm - Chipotle! Yum!
Y'all, I have to ask for y'all to pray for a family here in Charlotte. The mother & I have belonged to the local Mommies site together for years and she has done so so so much for so many local families with special needs. Her sweet boy, only six years old, Gabriel passed away today after a month spent in the PICU. He had complications from a virus, and being special needs, it was a lot worse than it could have been. They had just moved him today from one hospital to the other because he needed more help with his kidneys than the first hospital could give. I'm at such a loss for words tonight. I can only pray that they may find peace in this time of sorrow and loss.

Glad your patient is home and resting. Keep him well medicated! That is the only way you will be able to sew.
I was able to do a bit of sewing today when I made my ds fend some for himself on this HUGE Civil War Newspaper he has to do. There is no way a 4th grader can complete this assignment without help (and sadly my ds needs lots of help). I am working on a double layer twirl skirt for dd with some VD fabric. I have all the top layer strips sewn, serged and topstitched![]()

I am so glad that Josh is home and at least more comfortable than he was in the hospital. I hope everything goes well when you get the new furniture and Josh has a speedy recovery. I am sorry to here that he might need to go in and get the other side worked on.
Yummmm chipotle, I haven't been there in a while. Might need to rectify that.
Can't wait to see the appliques when they are done.![]()
D... That's a yummy list. He must have been really hungry. But sorry to hear that they may have to do another surgery.

Is there any way you can prop Josh up with a bunch of pillows until the recliner comes? Or how 'bout sending him to a neighbor's house that has a recliner -- then you can get more sewing doneJOsh is doing well - he was up and down most of the night. He is having a heck of a time sleeping in our bed. He can only lay on his one side. I cannot wait for our furniture to be delivered so he can sleep comfortably. Josh has a very high pain tolerance, so he doesn't have to take as many meds as you'd think - but he is already starting to go stir crazy - if he can just get through these first few days, I think it will start to get better for him.
I had a horrible episode of my rib cage pain last night, I dunno what it is about Chipotle (I LOVE it), but it makes my ribs hurt so badly. I went from a zero on the pain scale to an 8 in less than 2 minutes - it took me an hour to get it calmed down.
I hate projects that are so involved that it's mostly the parent doing the work.
I know, it's very frustrating. But we knew this going into it. But what we didn't know, until the Dr. came out to talk to me, is that the goal of the surgery wasn't to fix the problem or give Josh relief - it was to further prevent any more deterioration. When the surgeon got in there, he realized that it was much "tighter" than he thought, and he wasn't able to accomplish as much as he had planned, right now, Josh's left arm is very very weak, and we won't know for a few weeks, but it's possible that the weakness could be permanent. Which is very frustrating, but at the same time, if they wouldn't have gone in there, he could have eventually become paralyzed in his left arm. Hopefully, over time and with some PT - he will be able to recover some of his strength.
I do plan to get into my sewing room for a few hours today. I do have a bag order I need to work on, but I am not sure I want to start that for a few more days - I have a hard time leaving unfinished projects... And with Josh, I may need to leave it frequently - so I think I will work on some of my T-shirt appliques - those will be much easier to leave and come back to.I am hoping to knock out a few of them today, since the first set I want to do is pretty simple. I do need to take inventory of the T-shirts I've purchased, because I can't remember exactly what I was planning to do with all of them, and I think some of them might be duplicates???
I might even work on my modified denim shorts - those should be a fairly quick project, as well.
