~~~SEWING my way to POFQ ~ American Girl outfits & Custom Park Bags! ~~~
Caught up!!! I was 4 pages behind :scared1: I swear - I am usually much more attentive!!!
LOVE the new outfits! LOVE that you set their phones to "meeting" so they hear the messages, etc coming in and can't check them :rotfl2:
I try to never check bags . . . we have 3 21" rolling suitcases and 1 rolling duffle that is also "carry-on size" . . . With 2 kids plus DH & myself that's 4 carry-ons plus 4 personal items (backpacks for the boys, tote for me, backpack for DH) . . . if I can't fit it in, laundry will be done or I'll figure something else out!!!
Even 10 days in Montana we only checked 2 bags and that was more because we had SUPER short layovers . . .
D~ I took both kids in January 2010 C was 8 and J was 2 it was fun and a great way to try traveling alone with kids.
Hey you!! Glad you made it back. :thumbsup2
Yes, it's the little things in life that give me joy. :banana:
Yes, like your SUPER short layover in Mpls? :rotfl2: I can't believe that you carry everything on like that. I tried that for our last trip to Disney - and the girls were like little pack mules running through the ATL airport - I felt so bad.
D~ I took both kids in January 2010 C was 8 and J was 2 it was fun and a great way to try traveling alone with kids.
I am so happy to hear this. I guess I am the last mom on earth to travel alone with her children to Disney? :rotfl2:
I didn't get much done in my sewing room today. #1 - it's super duper hot in here, and dh refuses to turn on the air, since we are supposed to get a cool front tomorrow and our highs for the rest of the week will be in the 60s... even a frost advisory for later in the week. Which means I need to get out to A's garden and get the last of her veggies harvested.
I plan to continue sewing my latest outfit tomorrow... I hope to finish it tomorrow too - I have it all cut out and ready to go, and dd already has the hair accessory made. :thumbsup2 For once, it's me that's slackin' :hippie:
D~
I will try not to stress about traveling with the girls...
:)
D~
I've traveled a couple of times with just my girls. I actually find it easier than when I travel with DH. DH is a very stressed out traveler and I am not. Plus I don't have to discuss what time we are leaving, what bags I am packing, who has to carry what, etc, etc. I get to make the decisions and the kids are usually so excited about traveling that they are very agreeable to whatever I suggest.
:wave2: Me, too. Me, too.
When my sons were 13 and 15 we went to Disneyland. We also did Universal Studios and took a one day bus trip to Tiajuana, Mexico which I thought they thought would be cool since they were studying Spanish in school.
So it's your rite of passage as a mom to take the kids to Disney solo. :thumbsup2
PS Did I ever mention that I love to travel? :dance3:
::yes::<----- him with a suitcase, passport, and a boarding pass
1. Thanks! Happy to be back!
2. Gotta remember the little things! :banana:
3. yup, exactly! and see, that was a trip we checked bags and if some super nice person hadn't taken me to Target, DH would have been SOL in the clean underware & toothbrush dept. - because I had MY clothes packed in one of our carry-on luggage pieces;)
4. As far as little pack mules and running through an airport - you ARE taking them to the Happiest Place on Earth, m'dear! A little work in getting there never hurt :thumbsup2
I have to completely agree with this!!! It's not that my DH is a stressed out traveller, more that I expect him to know what I'm thinking and I get peeved when he :scared1: can't read my mind! Traveling with the boys by myself isn't too difficult and they're 6.5 & 3. If they were older - well, we'd have it down to a science. You'll be FINE D!!!! Of course, if you want to sew a few extra outfit and have me accompany you and the girls, I'm happy to do so ;)
Dang, I should have thought of offering to accompany Dorrine and her girls. It has been much too long since I've been able to spend a whole week at Disney!
THis is exactly it... When we went to The Netherlands, my bff rode with us to the airport to bring our car home, and after we got home - she said WOW your DH was crrrraaaabbbbyyyyy. I said, yup - that's how he is when he travels. She couldn't understand how I could stand it. I am convinced it's part of him being a Vetran though - because he was never like that before Iraq.
So, not having that portion of it will be nice. The girls and I are quite easy going, and we all get along very well - if they can get along with eachother. :confused3
Those sound like some fun trips! However, I don't think I would ever be brave enough to take my girls out of the country by myself - unless it was a Disney cruise... :lovestruc
So, maybe it is my right of passage.
Are you planning on meeting up with us Cheryl? I was going to invite you - but I just thought you liked to go solo?
Very true...
Marianne - you are more than welcome to meet up with us. :) You're just doing it so you can have a Donald Duck outfit for yourself - aren't you? :rotfl2:
Well, as predicted, I didn't even get a chance to touch my sewing machine last night... My meetings went way later than I had hoped, and by the time I got home, I was so tired, I fell asleep immediately. I couldn't even crawl out of bed on time to get the girls up for school this morning. Today is an all work, no play day for me... Sew, sew, sew. I hope to have my next dress ready to post by this afternoon. :banana:
You know... All of you can come. :) I only have room for one more in our room... but you could all split a room 4 ways - and it would be a really cheap trip for you all. :banana:
D~ <--- because I know you all want to see me. :lovestruc
.
Can you give me directions to the restaurant? Say I was starting at your house :rolleyes1 (Andrea, weren't you going to send me the address?) how would I get there?
How many times do I have to tell you?! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and I do mean $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, not ¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢
This one is an order for Rubberduckyranch.
GET SEWING DORINE!!!!!!
GET SEWING DORINE!!!!!!
I'm getting there... I am trying to catch up on my morning quotes... then I am going to do a QUICK work out (seriously - I have to get into that Donald outfit)... :worship:
Then.... I am going to hibernate in my sewing room all day. :thumbsup2
I really need to start working out too. I can lose about 5 pounds with dieting alone and then it stops. I have to work out at least one hour 5 days a week to get decent looking. I kept saying I would do it once school started, but I've had too many errands and BGs to catch up on. I did just finish doing two hours of yard work though. Does that count as a start to some minor aerobic activity? I'm very sweaty. And to think, I wanted to sew today. Hopefully I can get an hour of sewing in after my shower prior to picking up the kids (or hopefully dh gets off work early and picks them up so I can sew for two hours). I have my BG fabric so I'm excited to get a move on it!
I think it counts, if you're sweaty. Anything counts if your sweaty - IMO. :thumbsup2 I even count shoveling snow.
I did work out this morning... And I just talked to my neighbor - we might go out for a walk later.
Otherwise, I'm sewing, sewing, sewing... So much to do - so little time. :rolleyes1
That is the story of my life!!!!
I just read this on the All Ears newsletter and thought I would share in case you didn't get a chance to read it, since it involves Donald:
Tusker House in Disney's Animal Kingdom will begin serving a character lunch as of December 4, 2011. The new character dining experience will be called Donald's Dining Safari Lunch at Tusker House and will feature Donald and Daisy Duck and friends. Donald's Dining Safari Lunch at Tusker House Restaurant will be offered from 11 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. daily and will vary in cost by season from $25.99 to $29.99 for adults and $14.99 to $16.99 for children ages 3 to 9. Call 407-WDW-DINE for reservations, or after September 14 book online at www.disneyworld.disney.go.com/reservations/dining. NOTE: With the launch of this new character lunch, the restaurant will no longer offer reserved seating for performances of Finding Nemo - The Musical.
I'm sure you are busy sewing and I am totally impressed that you were able to squeeze in a work out. That Donald outfit is going to look so cute on you!
D~ Lisa is watching Tinkerbelle for a few minutes before bed, so I have just a minute to comment on your thread..I never get to, because if she sees me reading it we have to look at all of the "AMAZING CLOTHES from the American Doll Designer." For those who don't know, the first time Lisa spied the doll clothes she told me that whoever made those was "the best sewer in the world because not just anybody could do that...and she really knows fashion!" By the tie we look at everything again (just in case she missed something)...I am out of time!
Do you have another PTR or TR that gives more background on your family. I see DH is a veteran and he served in Iraq...Nosy Judy wants to know more... Thanks for making my little girl smile with your creations. :flower3: We can't wait to see more! popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::
THis is great to hear! Grrr... now do I want to do a second ADR at TH??? We have one for breakfast already, but we are planning to do 2 days at AK. The frist day we are doing the TH breakfast before park opening, then the second day we are doing Boma for Dinner at AKL... so theoretically, we could do an early lunch at TH... Hmmmm... I might just go do that. We all know that I love Donald. :)
Judy - you are so funny.
You'll have to tell Lisa that I just love her comments, and I am so glad I made her smile... I watched her Wish Trip reveal video the other night, and I was just bawling - she looked like such a little princess up there. And I just love when Beast gave her the rose and she knew just what to do... so precious. :lovestruc
I don't have another PTR or TR, however, don't fear - I have lots more chapters I plan to write - so you'll get to learn lots about us - whether you want to or not. :thumbsup2
I can't wait to see what you created today!
Me too... LOL Sorry to make you all wait to see it. My one Brother is having electrical issues (which dh hasn't looked at yet - other than to say "yup, it's electrical" <--- insert Cheryl's hitting his head with hammer yellow smiley guy here). So, I've been appliqueing on Victoria's machine - well tonight it started having issues of it's own. So, I spent a good 2 hours trying to figure out the problem. Eventually, I found that little bugger (I piece of lint) somewhere behind my bobbin case and under my feed dogs... grrr... so I pressed on, but I just couldn't finish it tonight. Sorry. I have to work a half day tomorrow, but I will finish it first thing when I get home and get the picture posted for you all. :lovestruc
Off to bed... :wizard:
D~
so sorry you are having issues with your Machines D. Hope it works out and 9 times out of 10 with my machine it is lint.
Can't wait to see the latest
Oy! I'm here! I'm here! As if I don't have enough projects I should be doing right now, I decided last night that today I was going to tackle and finish my walk-in closet . . . when the boys & I were hanging out in there the other day during the tornado warning, I was embarrassed by how out of control it had gotten. . .
So, I'm taking my lunch break and then we have to grab Finn from preschool and then I must finish before DH gets home and I have to go to work . . .
So, I'm here - can't wait to see pictures!!!
Yay for tackling the W/I closet... Boo for Tornado warnings. At least it was only your kids in the closet with you and not the neighbors. :thumbsup2
Yah - that darn lint will get you every time. :confused3 I couldn't find it in there anywhere... then, there it was. Hmpf.
I am super excited... I added an ADR to our trip. Tusker House lunch with Donald, for our second day in AK! Whoot. I checked 3 times this morning, and it hadn't opened online yet... then I checked one more time before running out the door for work - and there is was - so it's mine. Super excited! I get to eat with #1 Donald twice! Whoot! :donald:
So, this is the plan... Gonna hit "reply" on this post. Then I am going to work out. Then I am going to come back to Disboards and read the other PTRs I've been following, while I am eating lunch. Then I am going upstairs to finish #45. I plan to have it done before I have to leave to pick up the girls from musical try outs. Phew... I just wanna :surfweb:
