~~~SEWING my way to POFQ ~ American Girl outfits & Custom Park Bags! ~~~
You are so talented! Subscribed! I admit, I didn't read everything yet, but do you have an Etsy account? You could make a fortune. Of course, you should give us DISers discounts though :rotfl2: j/k
LOVE the Goofy dress :lovestruc I think its age appropriate, its not covered in butt ruffles :lmao:
yay for Mickey Mail !!! it really makes the trip REAL when you get those doc's!!!
we got our yesterday for our DLR trip on the 16th! our PH and luggage tags are Car's themed, so cute!
I guess I had never told you, my daddy passed back in 2003...
please let us know when Josh is out of surgery, continued prayers :goodvibes
First - I have to say that The Dis is all "Goofed" up tonight...
You are so talented! Subscribed! I admit, I didn't read everything yet, but do you have an Etsy account? You could make a fortune. Of course, you should give us DISers discounts though j/k
Welcome!!! And thank you! :lovestruc Yes, I do have an Etsy acct... :lovestruc Nope, I don't make a fortune - if I was to calculate what I make on the average item I sell... $2/hour. :confused3 But I have fun and that's what matters. :lovestruc I came to the conclusion that I do it because I love it and I love creating. :wizard: I hope you'll stick around and continue to read my PTR.
Just getting Mickey Mail is exciting--opening it, meh.
The goofy top is cute and she will work it well in MK with the leggings and chucks! (When you get home it will make for a great Halloween costume!)
Prayers for your family for the surgery.
Hi Deb! Thanks for the compliments... I need to get back to your TR - I haven't checked it in a couple of days... Are your girls ready for spring break yet?
You're right - it will make a great Halloween costume! :thumbsup2 Brilliant! Now if I can find a way to make her a "Mickey bar" - she can be a WDW tourist for Halloween. :thumbsup2
Thanks Marianne... I've been missing you!
If she wears it for one of your Epcot days she could take pics with Goofy in the character meeting spot . . . which building is that in again? Innovations? Anyway, that's where we got our original goofy pictures :) I don't remember seeing him in MK at all :confused3 this trip. We did see him in AK, but not in his original outfit. Oh! We saw him in MK - but as Pirate Goofy, not original.
Oh - thanks for the tip! I didn't even think of that. The last time we were at WDW, the original Goofy was in MK back in frontier land... We tried to wait in line at innovations, but the line was about 45 minutes long, so we ditched it... Not to mention some wonderful tourists from Europe somewhere (well, they had a Euopean accent anyways) decided to do a line cut with about 20+ people... DH was not happy, so we left, rather than create a scene.
And I'll just keep talking to myself . . . running dialog . . . I need to be cutting and sewing. . . I'm avoiding it . . .
Please get back to it - I miss my sewing buddy! :lovestruc Besides, you are awesome at creating things... look at how great you did on those appliques... did you see them in my suitcase???? They're ready to go - well, actually not, they are actually going in our carry ons, that's why they are at the top. :lovestruc
LOVE the Goofy dress :lovestruc I think its age appropriate, its not covered in butt ruffles :lmao:
True... However, I did just make V a skirt with butt ruffles last year, remember? So, don't put it past me. And also, my Donald skirt has butt ruffles (which I don't think I will get into for this trip) :sad2:
yay for Mickey Mail !!! it really makes the trip REAL when you get those doc's!!!
Now, the trick is not to lose them. :thumbsup2
we got our yesterday for our DLR trip on the 16th! our PH and luggage tags are Car's themed, so cute!
I didn't realize you were going to DLR again... That is so awesome. Is it far for you to travel to get there? Forgive me for not knowing exactly where you live... :confused3
I guess I had never told you, my daddy passed back in 2003...
I am sooooo sorry. :hug: I didn't know that. It's so hard to lose a parent. :hug:
please let us know when Josh is out of surgery, continued prayers :goodvibes
I will... I plan to bring one of my messenger bags... A couple of books, the charger for my phone (so I can attempt to surf the net), Josh even said he'd borrow me his Nook while he is in surgery... such a nice guy - but I had to promise that I would leave it there... I'll probably be half way through a good book.
He is actually having the surgery at the hospital he works at, I asked him if I could just hang out in his office - but he said that wasn't a good idea. LOL It wouldn't look too good to have his pc in use while he is on sick leave... :rolleyes1 Very true... So, I'll just hang out in the waiting room... Maybe get lost on my way to the cafeteria - as long as I don't wander into the morgue, I'll be fine. :cool1:
That is so cute! My opinion - does anyone care what is age appropriate when you are at Disney? I could see my SIL dressing as a princess if she could get away with it. :rotfl2: As long as V likes it, that is all that matters.
Thanks... See, that's what I was thinking too... but DH just gave me "that look" - which I seem to get a lot these days. :rotfl2: V does like it - she thinks I could have made it tighter at the bottom (it's meant to be a swing top type dress)... I guess I could rip it apart and redo it - but I am really not that ambitious. LOL
Alrighty everyone... D~ must go to bed. I didn't get the Goofy skirt cut out like I'd wanted to today... We opted to start deep cleaning the livingroom after dinner tonight (I would be horrified if the furniture guys came, moved the sectional and found a pile of dirty socks under it or somthing equally as horrible - LOL). Then V and I played Skylanders on the WII... Has anyone ever played that game - it's so much fun and such a money pit. :rolleyes1
D~
I cut out the portrait peasant top tonight - almost cut two of them actually (I messed up the bodice pieces my first go round - they didn't match up with the sleeves :( ).
I still need to cut out a corset top, a pirate vest, a pair of pirate themed easy-fits, a pirate MH applique, and two pairs of star wars "walking pants" (one for each of my boys . . . and I think I'm going to do pockets on these so they really are more "walking pant" vs pj pant).
I have my (relatively) short list of things to pick up at Jo-Ann's for tomorrow. Phay & I will drop Finn at preschool and then head on over . . . hopefully it won't take too long and I can get everything cut out before I have to pick Finn up from school.
I really need to find a lamp with a lampshade so I can take a picture of the scrap fabric tutu for Andrea's PTR. . .I feel like such a slacker! But, believe it or not, we only have one lamp with a shade on it in our house that would work to take a picture of a skirt :confused3
I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers for Josh's surgery, of course! :hug:
I keep all out travel docs in a plastic 8x11 envelope that velcro's closed
I didn't realize you were going to DLR again... That is so awesome. Is it far for you to travel to get there? Forgive me for not knowing exactly where you live... :confused3
you didn't see my ticker :confused3 yup I had already planned this trip last summer before we went to WDW in Oct and DLR last month....we are going on a tour one day up to the Disney Studios (part of Adventures by Disney), then down to hollywood to tour around and then dinner out in Malibu at the beach!
we live north of Seattle, so about 2 1/2 hour flt to Disneyland!! makes it easy for long weekend trips for us!
I am sooooo sorry. :hug: I didn't know that. It's so hard to lose a parent. :hug:
thanks, he had Alzheimer's due to his war injuries and went peacefully
good luck with all the cleaning!
great idea to stay busy during the surgery, will help keep your mind occupied....you are welcome to call or text me too :goodvibes what time does he go in??? think I'm two hours behind you.
That's a bummer... I hope you got it figured out. :thumbsup2
I can't wait to see this set done - it is going to be soooo cute! :lovestruc
I ended up at JoAnn's yesterday too... I had DH with me, when he saw me in the cutting line - I got "the look" again... I managed to get out of JoAnn's with only a $10 bill - I wish DH could have seen that, but he snuck out early. I did manage to find some orange dot fabric - but it isn't the same as the other stuff I used to have, the dots are much smaller - so I won't be able to use it on this project, but I should be able to use it on others.
I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers for Josh's surgery, of course! :hug:
Thanks Marianne! :lovestruc
Thanks Lisa... I am sure I've looked at your ticker several times - but sometimes I just don't make that connection... I know, I really need to have a spreadsheet for everyone's vacations... That wouldn't be weird at all. :rolleyes1
Josh goes into surgery at noon on Friday, it's supposed to be a 2 hour procedure, so I don't expect him to get into his room until about 4pm. I am going to grab pizzas for dinner on Friday (which is what we normally have anyways), so the girls can pop them in the oven when I leave the hospital. They should be ready by the time I get home... I know the girls are really nervous about the surgery - neither of us have ever had to do anything like this (thankfully) - so the girls are probably more scared than they need to be. We've tried really hard to reassure them, and I told them they could carry their phones on Friday, I will text them with updates - hopefully that will help them out a little bit?
I have to work all day today, so there will be no sewing. But I might be able to cut out the pieces for V's Goofy skirt before I leave? We'll see if I can get off the Dis to get that done or not. :rotfl2:
D~
I love love love the Goofy Dress.
I think it is great and perfect for Disney. With Leggings and Converse it will be fabulous.
I so need that pattern for the girl LOL.
I need lots of things need to stop dreaming.
I just had to update with some official Disney news...
It's official - Mickey Mail is here!!!! :cool1:
I've never recieved official Mickey Mail before - I am super excited!!!
D~
My Mickey Mail came yesterday too!!! :banana: My neighbors must have thought I was nuts, cause I started yelling right there at the mailbox "Mickey Mail" :rotfl:
I love the Goofy Dress it is so adorable. Excellent Excellent job!!! :thumbsup2
Whoot!! I just saw your news that you'll be at POFQ! :cool1:
Glad to have you back Diane - I was wondering where you went. :lovestruc Thank you for the well wishes for DH. :lovestruc
WELCOME!!! Not many people come out of lurkdom these days - so it's nice to meet you, I hope you'll continue to follow along and post! Oh - and I almost forgot... Thanks for the compliments! :lovestruc
Pics are coming momentarily...
Don't mind the mess, I just piled the suitcases on top of our ottoman in our bedroom and everytime I have something I need to pack - I just put it in there. :confused3 The suitcase that is standing up is still empty... Maybe you can play a nice game of I Spy with yourself Liddy??? IF you look closely - our Mickey Mail is right under the little notepad on top of the suitcase on the left, you can just barely see the corner of the envelope.
D~
Really? C'mon, you can do better than that! Give me a real challenge! :p
Oh, I can totally see the Mickey Mail envelope! :goodvibes
D, I totally love the dress. As in, I totally want one. Think your DD will let me steal it? :confused3 (Not that I'd fit in it ... but you know ...)
THanks for the reassurance about the dress - it definately gives her a "babyish" look... I guess it's better than the "adult" look? :confused3
The pattern is by Oliver + S, and it's called the Icecream Dress... very easy and it has the hem on it that I use for all the skirts I make now... I forgot to take a pic of the under hem on the Goofy Dress, but it's lime green dot - super cute! :lovestruc
Here's the link to the pattern - I found mine at a local store for much cheaper:
Actually, I work with a guy and his girlfriend who will be at WDW with us, so every time I work with him, I update him on how many days we have left. Back at about 160, I asked him if they'd made their ADRs yet, and he said "no, we'll find some where to sit down and eat when we get there"... I said not to count on it. :confused3 I tried to explain to him that it would be to his benefit to do a little research and at least book his dining, and he wasn't open to that. So I just left it be. I asked him the other day if he had done his dining yet - and he said no again. :confused3 This is also his 5th trip. How can you go to WDW 5 times and not know how to make it easy on yourself? :rolleyes1 I told him that I :lovestruc sharing the World with people like him... LOL BTW, I am never snotty when I talk to him about it - I just type that way. :rotfl2:
You can fight dd for it... after the posts last night, I think she will be wearing it on our Epcot day, because I didn't know that the "original Goofy" moved to Epcot. :lovestruc Gotta love my friends on The Dis. :lovestruc
I have to wonder where his 5 trips in recent years ? If so then perhaps he went during slower periods or had good luck with walk ups. :confused3
I will tell you we went maybe 7-8 times between 1989 and 1997, the only ADR we ever made were for HDDR, Horse back riding, and King Stephens Banquet(CRT) and Aladdins breakfast oh and breakfast on the Lily Belle and (Fultons now). We always ate at sit down restaurants as walk ups no problem getting a table at all. Even in 2006 when I was there for a weekend I ate at Coral Reef no reservation at prime dinner time 6-630.
In 2009 I got the shock of my life to find out everything had changed so much and there we were with just one ADR HDDR and had to beg to find a table anyplace, was a total nightmare and being it was SB the lines and no table availabilty once we did get our food has turned me off CS for life I think
I hope your co-worker will not be disappointed once he gets to WDW, it sure can be frustrating and put a big damper on an otherwise great vacation if you have no place to eat or take a nice break.
Thanks D I am going to see if I can find that pattern. I just think she would like it. though I did buy a cheapy commerical pattern at Joanns when they had a sale of a dress she liked. So I am going to attempt that too.
I love when people say they are going to Disney with no reservations :) Makes me laugh. You go and do that.
I love the goofy dress. I hope I get to see it on her.:thumbsup2
It's great that you have started packing, I need to start getting to it myself.:goodvibes
ROFL... I was thinking yesterday, how in the world am I going to get all these bags to Disney. So far, none of them are the same size - so I could use the Russian nesting doll theory... First the Toy Story Carry-on, then the Test Track bag, then the Donald UPB... I can just see airport security trying to go through my bags...
I know how you feel, we purchased our house in the height of the market... We will live here until we die. :rolleyes1
Glad they liked the shirts - so sad that it took the mom so long to respond (the first word that popped into my head was "inconsiderate"). I would love to see pictures of this party - it sounds so adorable. I found the sweetest camping fabric at my local boutique fabric store last summer - I wanted it sooo bad, but I had no idea what to make with it... I will see if I can find a pic... http://www.needlecraftinc.com/cgi-bin/fabricshop/gallery.cgi?Category=1627&View=All&v=1
Well, as you can all see, I finished my TT bag yesterday. Then I went shopping. I went to Kohls to look for the t-shirts that Marianne did our Pixie Dust with, and they were out of the colors in the sized that I need (and they didn't have red at all). :confused3 I did find the girls a couple of shirts to applique in the jr. section though - not super thick material, but I compared it to the ones Marianne used, and they are very similar - so I think they will work. I also found 2 (maybe 3, can't remember) denim skirts for myself, so that should take care of my customs, as long as they don't resemble a belt on me. :sad2: I was also looking for sunglasses - but I just can't pay $20+ for a pair, yet (I don't want to bring my expensive ones to Disney). I spent $50 total at Kohls, and got the girls 3 tshirts, myself a swim tankini top (that I am afraid to try on) and 2 or 3 denim skirts. I think I did OK.
Then, we went to JoAnn's... I got the fabric I needed for V's Goofy Icecream dress, and a few notions... I was looking specifically for orange fabric with white dots - I am afraid that's gone the way of the blue with white dot fabric. They still had the brown, red and pink... Such a shame. :sick:
After that, we went to Mill End Textiles - which is basically fabric seconds. I've seen the blue dot there before, so I was hoping to find the orange... No luck. I think I might have barely enough in my stash to do what I need, but that's it. They had a teeny tiny bit of the blue - which I purchased, but it was about a half yard - so not much at all. Also got some good prices on ric rac and some ribbon.
I am really excited to start on V's Goofy items - I really love working with him as inspiration, because there is just so much you can do. :lovestruc
I would love to make a Mickey dress for Allison - but I don't think she would wear it. :confused3 Maybe I will ask her????
D~
I love your nesting idea for the bags and I would love it if you could film airport security going through all of them!
One of those camping fabrics is way too adorable -- but you are right, I wouldn't know what to make. I have a cute flannel one that I made ds pj pants out of and he actually wore them for the party (I made these well over a year ago). But it's hard to make ds something he'll wear. Embroidered t-shirts and pjs are about it and I have to be careful what is on the embroidered t's.
Glad you were successful at Kohl's. They are so hit or miss for me. Sometimes I go in there and get great sales and other times I walk out empty handed.
I was at Joanne's today and they had crap. I'm looking for a fabric to coordinate with two others I have for a bag for the dd of the lady who gave me my sewing machine. They had one fabric I liked a lot that didn't match up with what I have and likewise didn't match up with anything else in their store :confused3
Since Liddy did a photo in her PTR about Mickey being a bit frisky - I thought I would copy her (yes, I did say that) and do my own...
Mickey tickled her all the way to the floor (no photos of her on the floor.. :confused3)
image292.jpg
When he was all done, Mickey gave her a hug and sent her on her way... By then, there was a line...
So, Scorcer Mickey is probably our favorite character - he was so playful! :lovestruc
D~
Cute!
I did not cut anything out this afternoon - but we did get Phalen & his friend, Catie, to take their birthday cake pictures . . . I'll share the two finalists with y'all :) We're ordering a sheet cake from BJs where they put a picture on it - hence the need for a pic of the two of them ... They're having a joint party at the gym in the bounce/inflatable room :)
th_DSC_9767-Version2.jpg
th_DSC_9817-Version2.jpg
Both pics are awesome -- I think I like the first one best though. I love P's hat! I wish my ds would wear one.
I am really not sure what to do for Josh for the first 2 days he is home, I have no idea how he is going to rest and sleep??? I am quite nervous about it.
I told him yesterday, we should just load up our sectional and bring it to the Goodwill... My thought is that I could rent a carpet cleaner and do a deep clean in the living room. We could bring up our camping chairs from the basement and use those for a week (they'd be much more comfortable than our sectional, that's for sure)... Then the furniture store could reimburse us the $30 we paid to get rid of it - and we won't have to worry about them taking it or not.
D~
Good luck with the surgery. If it was anything like my dh's foot surgery you will basically being playing waitress for a good two weeks and live for the moments that your dh is zonked out on pain meds. I never knew how high maintenance my dh could be. My biggest piece of advice is don't make Josh anything tasty to eat. That was my biggest mistake. I made dh a time consuming sandwich (takes 30 mins to make) and soup and then that's all he ever requested. I also had a day where I had to drop everything and immediately head to Target to get a new kindle b/c he broke his:headache:
Thrift stores will not take any furniture if it is torn. We had a tear on a couch and couldn't get anyone to take it (so i sold it on Craig's list instead and got tons of interest in it -- sold it immediately!).
OK - I love how this turned out! It was so much fun to make! :lovestruc However, even though V has been begging for this for months, I will admit that it's not really age appropriate for her. :confused3 Like DH said - I am great at making doll clothes, but my girls are not dolls. :confused3 I told him that they are "my dolls" - but that doesn't make the dress any more age appropriate.
She plans to wear it with a pair of black leggings and Converse, and either a Goofy bow or her Goofy hat (and, of course, her Goofy bag)... I am hoping she wears this outfit for one of our MK days - because I would love pics of her with the "original Goofy". :lovestruc
That will look adorable with leggings and chucks. We found Goofy at Epcot and he wouldn't let dd leave -- she was wearing her Mickey patchwork skirt and he just fell in love with dd. His handler finally made him let dd go because the line got all backed up.
I
I really need to find a lamp with a lampshade so I can take a picture of the scrap fabric tutu for Andrea's PTR. . .I feel like such a slacker! But, believe it or not, we only have one lamp with a shade on it in our house that would work to take a picture of a skirt :confused3
:upsidedow
I love the Goofy dress. She will look so cute in it.
As for the machine I want to get I am torn between the Brother LB6800PRW and the Brother SE400. And I even picked out a non-embroidery machine in case DH changes his mind, Brother CS6000i.
Yeah for Mickey Mail. My kids are always so excited to get Mickey Mail.
been trying to post all day on your thread....thank goodness its moving fast tonight, getting really frustrated with how slow its going..
Hope Josh will be a good patient for you....I agree with Andrea don't baby him too much he might get used to it :rotfl: ....seriously though hope he won't have to much pain and recover's quickly :goodvibes
Andrea - we bought our CA house at the top too and I had no choice but to walk away from it after Jim died....got my "cancellation of debt" papers today to file for taxes...we bought it for $460,000 Nov 2005 and it sold at auction on 1/5/11 for $167,251.00 which was the fair market value:eek: have no idea how much this is going to screw up my taxes for 2011 yet, but a bit scared how much its going to cost me!
hope when you do sell it will be for a decent price!!
I love the Goofy dress. She will look so cute in it.
As for the machine I want to get I am torn between the Brother LB6800PRW and the Brother SE400. And I even picked out a non-embroidery machine in case DH changes his mind, Brother CS6000i.
Yeah for Mickey Mail. My kids are always so excited to get Mickey Mail.
I started sewing on the Brother SE-400 it is a great little machine. I gave it to my mother so she could use it on her dining room table. I need ot show her how to use the embroidery part. Just be prepared you will eventually have hoop envy.
I have to wonder where his 5 trips in recent years ? If so then perhaps he went during slower periods or had good luck with walk ups. :confused3
I am not sure that they were in recent years? I didn't ask. I do know that he is going with his family (parents and siblings)... Staying in a house off site.
I will tell you we went maybe 7-8 times between 1989 and 1997, the only ADR we ever made were for HDDR, Horse back riding, and King Stephens Banquet(CRT) and Aladdins breakfast oh and breakfast on the Lily Belle and (Fultons now). We always ate at sit down restaurants as walk ups no problem getting a table at all. Even in 2006 when I was there for a weekend I ate at Coral Reef no reservation at prime dinner time 6-630.
In 2009 I got the shock of my life to find out everything had changed so much and there we were with just one ADR HDDR and had to beg to find a table anyplace, was a total nightmare and being it was SB the lines and no table availabilty once we did get our food has turned me off CS for life I think
I agree, the difference between our 2003 trip and 2008 was immense. I think a lot of people discovered the Dis and learned how to plan. :confused3
I hope your co-worker will not be disappointed once he gets to WDW, it sure can be frustrating and put a big damper on an otherwise great vacation if you have no place to eat or take a nice break.
I hope so too - but it doesn't seem like he is as "into it" as I am... He just laughs when I give him our countdown for days.... He told me that he'd much rather go to Hawaii. :confused3 I told him that Disney is in Hawaii now... ROFL.
Thanks D I am going to see if I can find that pattern. I just think she would like it. though I did buy a cheapy commerical pattern at Joanns when they had a sale of a dress she liked. So I am going to attempt that too.
I love when people say they are going to Disney with no reservations :) Makes me laugh. You go and do that.
I hope you do get the pattern Chiara - I've learned so much from Oliver + S patterns, and I've only done a handfull of them. I love how clean their patterns turn out and they just look so nice and finished. :lovestruc
I love the goofy dress. I hope I get to see it on her.
It's great that you have started packing, I need to start getting to it myself.
Thanks!
Yes, I seem to be adding stuff to the suitcase every day now... I bought hairspray for our trip yesterday. :banana: High humidity, extra hold. :thumbsup2
I love your nesting idea for the bags and I would love it if you could film airport security going through all of them!
If I do that, I'll probably be escorted out of the airport. D~ would not be a happy girl.
One of those camping fabrics is way too adorable -- but you are right, I wouldn't know what to make. I have a cute flannel one that I made ds pj pants out of and he actually wore them for the party (I made these well over a year ago). But it's hard to make ds something he'll wear. Embroidered t-shirts and pjs are about it and I have to be careful what is on the embroidered t's.
I know, I just love the camping fabrics... It would make an adorable UPB for someone staying at WL or the campground... :lovestruc
Glad you were successful at Kohl's. They are so hit or miss for me. Sometimes I go in there and get great sales and other times I walk out empty handed.
I was at Joanne's today and they had crap. I'm looking for a fabric to coordinate with two others I have for a bag for the dd of the lady who gave me my sewing machine. They had one fabric I liked a lot that didn't match up with what I have and likewise didn't match up with anything else in their store
I know, I have not been too impressed with JoAnns lately... They have no colors of the fabric I use for my bags. So I find myself driving 40 minutes one way to JoAnns for my Gutermann thread (because Handcocks doesn't carry it), then driving 45 mintues the other direction to Handcocks for my fabric... Super annoying and wasteful!
Good luck with the surgery. If it was anything like my dh's foot surgery you will basically being playing waitress for a good two weeks and live for the moments that your dh is zonked out on pain meds. I never knew how high maintenance my dh could be. My biggest piece of advice is don't make Josh anything tasty to eat. That was my biggest mistake. I made dh a time consuming sandwich (takes 30 mins to make) and soup and then that's all he ever requested. I also had a day where I had to drop everything and immediately head to Target to get a new kindle b/c he broke his:headache:
Excellent point... He just gave me his grocery list yesterday... I am not the "wait on my husband hand and foot" type person, I never have been - but I am nicer to him when he's had a traumatic experience. :thumbsup2
Thrift stores will not take any furniture if it is torn. We had a tear on a couch and couldn't get anyone to take it (so i sold it on Craig's list instead and got tons of interest in it -- sold it immediately!).
The sectional isn't ripped anywhere - but some of the seams pulled open... So all I have to do it go in there and hand stitch a couple of spots on the back cushions - which I plan to do before the furniture guys come. If they decide not to take it - then you have an excellent point... We will Craigslist it.
That will look adorable with leggings and chucks. We found Goofy at Epcot and he wouldn't let dd leave -- she was wearing her Mickey patchwork skirt and he just fell in love with dd. His handler finally made him let dd go because the line got all backed up.
I agree... And the story about Goofy is adorable! I hope V gets some Goofy lovin'. :lovestruc
I don't know anything about the first Brother you listed... but I do know the Brother SE400 is the little brother to the PE770 (that I want)... the 400 is the 4x6 hoop and the 770 is the 5x7hoop. Both of them have the USB hook up which is very important... unless you want to carry your machine with the usb connector to your pc every time you want to put a new design on it. LOL I am not sure if the other machine you listed has a USB port or not????
Thanks. :lovestruc We spent the evening at our neighbor's/bff's house - she is an attorney and was kind enough to update Josh's will and redo his POA and living will... We feel better now that we have all our ducks in a row.
Andrea - we bought our CA house at the top too and I had no choice but to walk away from it after Jim died....got my "cancellation of debt" papers today to file for taxes...we bought it for $460,000 Nov 2005 and it sold at auction on 1/5/11 for $167,251.00 which was the fair market value:eek: have no idea how much this is going to screw up my taxes for 2011 yet, but a bit scared how much its going to cost me!
I sure hope you don't get hit too hard with taxes this year.
Well, my plans for the day are to cut out V's Goofy skirt. Then I plan to hand stitch the couch cushions... Maybe go back to assembling V's Goofy skirt (if I have time). I would also like to cut out appliques for some of our shirts... I should draw them out today and put them on fabric - then take them with me to the hospital tomorrow and cut them out while I am sitting there. :confused3 LOL - I don't think I'd actually do that.
I also plan to surf the net for a possible new cell phone provider, because I am angry with mine today.
D~
OMG!!!! And I thought we were bad off! I hope you had a good downpayment and a lot of it paid off. *IF* we sell it for close to our asking price we won't have to put any money into the house at closing, but I am expecting to have to possibly put a little in depending on the offer. The best deal would be for our realtor to have one of his clients buy the house then his commission is lower which would be very beneficial to us. I am just scared b/c one house has been on the market in our neighborhood for four years now and it's similar to ours (ours is phase 2 so it's larger, but otherwise same floor plan).
