~ Sew Sweet 16 ~I’m packing your angry eyes just in case~Aug 2014~ BFF' bag 8/20!!!!

Good luck with your bag today.

I hope you have a lovely holiday break.

Sounds like another busy day. My mom's doing better but she's in her 80's so it takes time for her to heal.
It's been super busy at work with all the Christmas card orders, calendars and canvases we've been making. A lot of people are off sick right now, too. There's some kind of bug going around and as a result, there was no closer in electronics yesterday.
I'm glad V has recovered from her field trip. Waiting in the cold and dark for another bus is scary enough if there's other people around.
I hope you have another productive day. I'm working the later shift today.
Liz

Sounds like a busy day. I am looking forward to a relaxing break as well. Yesterday I was supposed to teach in the afternoon but I woke early in the morning and ended up calling in sick. I spent the day in bed. I thought I had a stomach flu but nothing really progressed so I spent the day in because watching tv and dozing on and off all day. Today and tomorrow v is off school for teacher interviews. I got to her house this am to find out she's been puking since early am. There go our big plans. Currently sitting at home with her. I'm feeling better for the most part.

Can't wait to see what the auction bag is!

That is awesome! I used to do the same thing with the girls, thankfully it was pretty rare that I wasn't able to pick them up myself.

Last year it was a rare thing where I didn't pick them up all the time. This year I've been using my neighbors and they've been using me so it's been a win/win situation for all of us.

Hopefully everything goes well, and he will move when he is supposed to... HOpefully his weight stays good too.

That's how I look at it. He'll do what he's supposed to do when he's good and ready. The weight thing is what scares me the most because she did say if he doesn't turn or is too big then I will probably have to have a C-section and I want to avoid that at all costs! I've had all 3 naturally and hope to have this one that way too.

Thanks! That reminds me... I have some great now n' thens of the girls in front of the tree... I should dig them out and post them one of these days.

Those would be fun to see.

Wow what a busy day. Sounds like you got a lot done though.

I'm exhausted just reading about your day yesterday.

I hope you accomplished what you wanted to today.

I think a little "time off" is a good thing. Hope you enjoy some time with your family.

Morning D!

I too enjoyed our "chat" yesterday! Life gets so busy around this time of year and sometimes it's nice to slow down and just enjoy friends and family.

I will definitely share pics once the "deed" is done!

Have a great day

I agree - it does get so busy this time of year! Can't wait to see pics!

Good luck with your bag today.

I hope you have a lovely holiday break.

Thanks! As I was talking to Josh, he loled at my "holiday break", as I began telling him about all I plan to do... Yah - it guess it's not really a holiday break. :faint:

Looks like a productive day!!!

ohh another auction..

Yah - another auction... I am getting to the point where I am almost done doing them - I will see how it goes over the next few months, but it's starting to clutter my schedule so much.

I am happy to hear that your mom is doing better. :lovestruc

Tis the season - right? I would rather be super busy though - but it's such a bummer that so many are out sick.

I hope you had a great day too Liz.

I hope you and V are feeling better - it's no fun being sick!

I can't wait to see what it is either - LOL - don't even have a theme yet. :crazy2:

Last year it was a rare thing where I didn't pick them up all the time. This year I've been using my neighbors and they've been using me so it's been a win/win situation for all of us.

It's so nice that this works out so well for all of you!

That's how I look at it. He'll do what he's supposed to do when he's good and ready. I also hope you are able to avoid a C section, if you can. :lovestruc

Those would be fun to see.

Wow what a busy day. Sounds like you got a lot done though.

I did - but I didn't stop once to breathe. :crazy2:

I'm exhausted just reading about your day yesterday.

I think a little "time off" is a good thing. Hope you enjoy some time with your family.

THanks Kathy! I hope to enjoy some time with the family - for sure on the weekends. LOL I stopped by your new TR this mornin g- looking forward to hearing all about your trip. Is your next trip in Sept? Or do you go before that?

**********************************************************

I worked in my sewing room yesterday... I was able to finish my current custom order bag. I was a little stumped about what to applique on the wallet - so I consulted the person who ordered it, and she gave me an idea. So, I plan to finish the wallet today - I hope to have pictures to post this afternoon... :thumbsup2

Tonight is a big night on my FB fanpage... Hopefully I don't fall asleep before I need to post there. LOL

I also went to town yesterday and purchased 2 packs of dish towels (I am NOT happy with the quality of them, I got them at Target - and the quality is very poor... I should have tried Walmart, but I didn't feel like running there)... Anyways... I purchased 2 cheap holiday embroideries and I got one free... Tess added me to this really awesome FB group for Brother embroidery machines - and I love stalking it - they have such great ideas! Thanks Tess! Anyways - someone there did this same thing, so now I am doing it. I love how they are turning out - even if the dishtowels suck. I figured I can give them as additional Christmas gifts to a few people. :thumbsup2 One thing I do love about the embroidery machine, is that I can be sewing (or eating dinner... Or whatever) while it's working. However, I prefer to be in the room with it, because I can just imagine that would be the time that something would go wrong. Anyways - when I am done, I will be sure to post pictures.

I thought I would do a little "non-weightloss" update this morning... I am starting to get a little annoyed - I am doing everything right, but my size isn't changing... It's been stalled for over a month. So, clearly something isn't "right" - not sure what it is. I just keep telling myself to keep on, keepin' on, because the changes have to come eventually. But it's a little annoying... I am motivated by progress - yet there doesn't seem to be much. I am getting stronger though - so that's good... Still can't beat Josh at arm wrestling - but I WILL one day. So, maybe I am not really stalled? Maybe my body is just at that weird stage where the muscle is building, but the fat is going and my size isn't changing. Well, my overall shape is - so that's good - and you cant' change the shape of fat - so that's probably the case? :confused3 I'll just keep lifting heavy things and eating in a healthy manner - there has to be progress eventually. ::yes::

On that note... I am very excited to show you all pictures of how my Christmas skirt turned out... I just LOVE it! But it's going to be another week + before I wear it, so you have to wait for that... but I am very excited! :beach: I am hoping to get a nice family picture during the holidays - preferably in front of someone's fireplace. LOL Since I don't have one. :artist:

Anyways - I hope you all have a marvelous day - and a wonderful weekend! Sending out prayers to all in need!

D~

WHAT?!?! NO MORE AUCTIONS??? The horror!!! how would people get bags! like me who are in NEED of several more?!?!

anyway. Hope you feel better and the auction tonight goes extremely well, I may surprise you and but it all.. Since i need to show my Disney side...
.

You can come have your picture taken in front of my fireplace. I may even have a tree next to it....maybe.

Hang in there D~ your body is adjusting to changes. I know that plateau stage where it seems like nothing is happening and you feel that "what's the point?" - don't give up, maybe a modification to your workout might be in order.

THanks Kathy! I hope to enjoy some time with the family - for sure on the weekends. LOL I stopped by your new TR this mornin g- looking forward to hearing all about your trip. Is your next trip in Sept? Or do you go before that?

I am going May 29 - June 6 with Mary and the girls for our last girls trip for awhile. There is a slight chance that we will also be going the last weekend of March if Mark still has his job and can do a "Florida" trip and we will hook up with Nicki and Todd at Disney. Then the two week trip in September.

D~

I remember the last time I went on a diet (I'll admit I never worked out), after a month I was at a standstill for whatever reason. Hang in there...I have faith in you.

Can't wait to see your skirt.

:worried: I thought I was behind on Mo's... but holy cow! Okay, I've read the first 2 pages. :bitelip: So... not even going to comment except that you & your friend's photo shoot is adorable. Your girls being so close is really really nice.

Okay, there is no way I can read anymore tonight. But, I am subscribed, possibley again... lol and will be back another day to read more.

I will say this too.... August again huh? Didn't get wet enough last time. :rotfl2: Hey, what are the chances 2 years in a row having the entire trip rain 75% eac day?

Behind again. I picked up in the middle of the bus fiasco, glad V finally made it home. I would've been a wreck.

Prayers to all who need them.

I've been busy just keeping up with life. This short time to Christmas is messing me up. We did get our tree up early and my daughter put most of the ornaments on and did a pretty good job. She needed help with the high ones and a few needed to be moved to unoccupied branches, but overall I was impressed for a 3 year old. We have not wrapped and read our 25 days of Christmas books. It is just hard to do. We barely made it through last year. Oh well.

My grandma is now on Hospice services, she's ok for now, but heading downhill. She has been my second mother, so this will be hard. We are happy for everyday we get with her.

Hope to keep up better :)

WHAT?!?! NO MORE AUCTIONS??? The horror!!! how would people get bags! like me who are in NEED of several more?!?!

I am not sure? It's just that the auctions always sneak up on me, and then I feel like I am scrambling to get them done, and the last few have barely sold... So... It might just be time to be done with them. I will play it by ear and see how it goes over the next few months... Maybe I will just take a break from them or something? Or offer less of them per year? Maybe I will just do my crazy days auctions? Not sure yet.

anyway. Hope you feel better and the auction tonight goes extremely well, I may surprise you and but it all.. Since i need to show my Disney side...
.

Thanks! I am pretty excited about this one! It's not that often that I get to work with someone who has such a great talent! I just LOVE Jenny's items, and it's been so much fun to do this with her!

You can come have your picture taken in front of my fireplace. I may even have a tree next to it....maybe.

This made me laugh! I would totally steal your fireplace for pictures if I lived closer!

Hang in there D~ your body is adjusting to changes. I know that plateau stage where it seems like nothing is happening and you feel that "what's the point?" - don't give up, maybe a modification to your workout might be in order.

Thanks Tess for cheering me on... I wish I would plateau a size smaller though. LOL I would really like to be solidly in a 13/14 jrs before I stall out. As it is, I am JUST there and have been JUST there for over a month... Something has got to give soon... :worship:

I remember the last time I went on a diet (I'll admit I never worked out), after a month I was at a standstill for whatever reason. Hang in there...I have faith in you.

Can't wait to see your skirt.

Thanks Kathy - it's so hard! I was thinking about this a little bit yesterday, and come March - I have been at this for a year. I keep criticizing myself for all I have yet to accomplish... but then I look at how far I have come, and WHOA! What a difference... There are things I do now that I could never have done a year ago... on top of that, I hold my head higher, and I have more confidence (as if I needed any more of that? :rotfl2:) - not to mention all of my "health" issues which are no longer an issue. I just need to remember that it's not always how far I have to go, it may just be better to focus on how far I've come. :lovestruc

I thought I was behind on Mo's... but holy cow! Okay, I've read the first 2 pages. So... not even going to comment except that you & your friend's photo shoot is adorable. Your girls being so close is really really nice.

Hi Dee!!!! It's great to see you! I hope you are well! Thanks so much - I love how that photo shoot turned out too... I would love to do another one in the spring. What I REALLY want, is to do one with DH... I've been on him about it since Alli got her camera last spring, but not luck dragging him out there yet. :confused3

:Okay, there is no way I can read anymore tonight. But, I am subscribed, possibley again... lol and will be back another day to read more.

Please don't worry about catching up... Honest... Just pick up here - or where ever... I don't mind. Honest. I'd rather have my friends stop by and say hi, than feel obligated to catch up too, and because of that - they never say anything. So, just stop by when you can, say hello - tell me how you are doing... I would love that!

:I will say this too.... August again huh? Didn't get wet enough last time. :rotfl2: Hey, what are the chances 2 years in a row having the entire trip rain 75% eac day?

I know, I know... I hate August in FL... The girls and I will be the first to admit that... But it's June (crowds n' hot), July (crowds n' hot) or August (less crowds and hotter than...) - Well, I guess we will take the last one, even though I would rather go in Oct-March. LOL

Behind again. I picked up in the middle of the bus fiasco, glad V finally made it home. I would've been a wreck.

Hey!!!!!!!!!! It's great to see you!!!!! Thanks so much for stopping by! Don't worry about being behind... See my reply to Dee above... I"d rather have you stop by to say hi, than not stop by at all. :lovestruc

Prayers to all who need them.

Thank you - I know everyone appreciates them!

I goofed off most of the day yesterday...

Shame on me...

I did finish my custom order for the week - I am VERY happy with it! I just love the colors, and the applique is fantastic! I hope to take photos this morning and get them posted later today.

Yesterday, a customer of mine sent me a text, she included a photo... She had just hopped on the Monorail and noticed another of my bags... How cool is that. So the two of them posed for a picture and sent it to me! Made my day! Made my week!!! Seriously - how cool is that? :lovestruc

THen I worked on some of the flour-sack dish towels that I am embroidering with my new machine to give as gifts. I am quite embarassed about the quality of the towels themselves, as they are soooo thin, that the stitching is making holes in them at points where the stitching is thick. Josh and I went out in search of better quality towels last night, and we did not have any luck at all. Does anyone know where I can get better quality towels? We have tried Kohls, Walmart, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond... Someone mentioned that the Dollar Store had nice ones, so we will try there too... Sigh.

Here are the designs I am doing on the towels so far:

Then, last night, Josh took me out to dinner for our 16th Anniversary. :lovestruc He let me choose, so we went to Outback Steakhouse - which is a 45 min drive for us, but I love to eat there. And I :lovestruc their coconut shrimp... So, I was in heaven! It was very nice to get out together and enjoy some time alone.

Since I am "done" in my sewing room until after Christmas, I am taking the weekend off... Then I will work on my side projects for the next few weeks... Hoping to take them at a leisurly pace, so I can enjoy the holiday. :wizard:

I thought I would leave you all with a funny V/MM photo... He is so crazy! And don't mind V with curlers in her hair - this is totally normal.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Good thoughts and prayers to all!

D~

Well I will have a tree next to my fireplace, so come on down!

I went after work yesterday and it took me all of 5 minutes to find a nice tree. Came home and took my youngest dd, Shannon and her friend Megan out to dinner. We went to a local sports bar/restaurant. Food is really good there, but the parking lot is definitely not large enough. We had a great time. Came home and Charlie was here! Yay! he's been gone all week. He ate my leftovers. LOL

Shan and I are going to put the tree up today and maybe bake cookies. She's a wonderful baker - she should go to culinary school.

I love your newest auction bag and am seriously considering bidding....need to double check the bank account.....

Have a wonderful relaxing weekend. I love the design on the towels. Can you let me know where it is you order your thread?

Thanks for the prayers!

Love all the bag pics! Gotta love 2 of your bags meeting!!!

Cute designs!!! Did you use water soluable solvy on top of the design while stitching? This helps the design stay on top of the fibers, I think. I used a kmart towel that worked well when I did one last year.

I can't believe you also like my coconut shrimp! We never eat there, our outback isn't very good anymore. Happy Anniversary!!!! Glad you enjoyed it!

Cute pic of MM and V!!!!!

Just love the new bags and that Mickey auction with the ears...wish I had the funds to bid on it Raina would love it! I love it! I made banana bread this morning now working on chocchip cookies. It has been snowing all morning ,they are calling for up to 7". Did I mention I hate snow! Going next door for a game night at 6pm. Kari is making chili (yum) Might as well certainly can't get to the store in this mess.........:)

Sounds like you had a great day! And a nice dinner... Thankful that Charlie is finally home - it had to have been a long week. However, early in our marriage - Josh was gone A LOT - I love having him home now... but the girls and I have A LOT of fun when he decides to run away for a few days.

Shan and I are going to put the tree up today and maybe bake cookies. She's a wonderful baker - she should go to culinary school.

Oooh - that sounds like so much fuN!

I love your newest auction bag and am seriously considering bidding....need to double check the bank account.....

Thank you! I truly enjoyed making it - and I loved even more, seeing how Jenny's ears came out too! :woohoo:

Have a wonderful relaxing weekend. I love the design on the towels. Can you let me know where it is you order your thread?

Thanks! I order it from Long Creek Mills in NC... They usually take FOREVER to mail their shipments - like, one time, it took me almost 3 weeks to get my order... but this last order, I ordered on Wed morning and it was on my doorstep on Friday afternoon. So, just know in advance - it could be a while.

Thanks for the prayers!

Any time! It's the least I can do.

Love all the bag pics! Gotta love 2 of your bags meeting!!!

Thanks! I just LOVE seeing my bags in Disney... It's almost as if a piece of me gets to go each time, and it truly makes me so happy! Even more, I love to see people enjoying what I work so hard to make... It's just a wonderful feeling!

Cute designs!!! Did you use water soluable solvy on top of the design while stitching? This helps the design stay on top of the fibers, I think. I used a kmart towel that worked well when I did one last year.

I don't, yet. I need to get some, and I hope to today. I've just been working with the tear-away on the bottom, and it's OK, but I agree, I think I need somthing on the top too. I plan to look for it when I go to town later. :thumbsup2

I can't believe you also like my coconut shrimp! We never eat there, our outback isn't very good anymore. Happy Anniversary!!!! Glad you enjoyed it!

Cute pic of MM and V!!!!!

Thank you! Yah - I love their coconut shrimp... Sad that your Outback isn't very good anymore. We only have 2 near us - and one is NEVER open... Even on weekend nights - it's very annoying. Which is why we chose to drive to the one that is further away, and the other direction, since we didn't want to chance the other one not being open.

Just love the new bags and that Mickey auction with the ears...wish I had the funds to bid on it Raina would love it! I love it! I made banana bread this morning now working on chocchip cookies. Thank you! It sounds like you had a wonderful day Trish! I hope you had a great night last night too... I love doing things with our neighbors - we always have the most fun, and we never have to worry about driving home. :thumbsup2

V and I shopped all day yesterday... Dollar store... Target... Kohls... Barnes n' Noble... Grocery store. It was CRAZY out there!

But, she was able to finish her Christmas shopping.

And I found towels... Not flour sack ones, but "nicer" dishtowels - which definately need the water soluable stabilizer on top... I found them at Kohls... A 6 pack on sale for $7.99... I purchase 2 packs... Used my $10 Kohls Cash and my extra 15%... Which made them less than $5 for 12 towels... I am OK with that - even if they aren't what I initially wanted. They will work. :confused3 I hope.

Then we came home... V wrapped her gifts... And I tried out the towels to see if they would work. They aren't perfect - but they are better than the flour sack ones I had.

Then I taught V how to use the embroidery machine, so she did a towel for her God Mother. :thumbsup2

Josh made spaghetti for dinner... It was delicious!

Then we all watched Home Alone again... Because V and Josh didn't get to watch it the other night when Alli and I did.

I ended my auction at 7pm... Over all, I am happy with how it went. Considering that it took place WAAAAY too close to Christmas (which was totally MY fault)... But it was a gamble... We knew that people would either LOVE it or hate it, and I think that overall people liked it? :confused3 It was super fun to work with Jenny and I would totally do it again.

Today will be another lazy day... I hope to get the remainder of the stockings wrapped and packed to be shipped tomorrow. I also hope to work on a few more towels this afternoon. But I have to run to town to drop Alli off and I am hoping to get some wash away stabilizer while I am there. Praying that Walmart carries it - as that's my only option in this town.

We found our National Lampoons Christmas DVD last night... V took out all our movies and crawled behind the entertainment center and there is was. :woohoo: So, guess what we are watching tonight?

I hope you all have a marvelous day... Please know that all of your are in our thoughts and prayers. :grouphug:

D~

Thanks D~ I do want to read through. I think I will read along as we go, but still go back & try to catch up....without getting behind. lol

Love the picture of V w/MM.

Your towels look great. Maybe you could try Bed Bath & Beyond? Might be able to catch a sale. Also, I think I have seen them at Michaels and/or AC Moore, maybe only on occassion though.

I hope you husband agrees to the photo shoot. He should think of the girls. Someday when you two are long gone, they will treasure those photos. I know I hold close to every photo I have of both my parents. Especially the ones of them together. (of course in my case those are rare as they divorced after 33 years of marriage. lol).

As far as how we are... we are all well...at the moment at least.

I know what you are saying about choosing the least uncomfortable month to go... lesser of the evils I suppose. BUT, it's still Disney. :goodvibes I struggle with similiar choices. Go during the school year & not stay as long, or go in the summer & add a few extra days. But, after all that rain, crowds and heat.... back to the fall for us. Plus, I love the Christmas decorations. But, I wish we could stay for 10+ days. Although, due to school starting we couldn't even get that in on our Aug. trip this past time.

Okay, now back to trying to get caught up.

Sheeewwww!!!!! I just read all 36 pages of your PTR, and loved loved loved every moment of it!!!! Can't wait to read more!!!! Also, CP is a must do for us each trip as well;)

I am at the hospital with my dad. He was brought in by ambulance yesterday. He was admitted through the er. I came up last night and slept here with him. He was ct scanned/mri/spinal tapped last night. They have ruled out stroke, but are leaning towards a brain infection. Please keep him in your prayers.
