I can't wait to see what you do with your Magic Bands. I would love to paint a set, but I'm not very good at any kind of drawing or painting.
what kind of paint are you planning to use on your bands?
I love the Toy Story outfit. It is perfect for HS.
Well, I sure hope they turn out, LOL. Trust me, I am not doing anything complicated...

I read a post over on the Magic Band thread where a person who paints quite a few of them uses acrylic... So that's what I bought - one of each color of the rainbow of acrylic paints and also some "moisture resistant" sealer, because they didn't have official "water proof"

Hopefully it works - that sealer wasn't cheap!
They changed the hours again? YIkes. Guess I need to check that nothing changed for when I'm going to be there.
I love the toy story outfit.
Yes, they changed them again - less than 30 days out.

I was not happy... Normally I avoid EMH like the plague, but since Disney makes you plan everything so far in advance, there is no way we could change parks, because we'd never get our ADRs or FPs again. I think it's a very crappy thing of them to do - Honestly. So, yes, watch your park hours very closely.
Hi D~! I'm back and finally caught up on your PTR. I had a wonderful time with Mom and then of course came back to a mess on my desk at work. On top of that, the local animal shelter that I volunteer at (and is part of the County I work for) took in 350+ dogs from a puppy mill. Considering they normally have around 200 animals, the 550+ is now seriously taxing their resources. I spent most of last week doing everything I could from my end since I am their finance liaison. Fortunately the community has rallied and donations and volunteers have poured in. Unfortunately though, the shelter cannot do anything other than basic care for the animals until the court case is settled. That could be months or even up to a year. It's gonna be a long couple of months for them.
I am happy to hear that you had a good time with your mom!
Awww... That is so sad about all those animals. I know they are being well taken care of, but still - it can't be an easy situation for anyone to be in... People or animals or shelter. I hope the case is settled soon and the animals can find good homes.
I really enjoyed reading about your lake trip. We used to do that a lot growing up. My uncle works for a company that owns a cabin on Deep Creek Lake in Maryland and he can use it once a summer. We used to pile in way more people than could fit in the 4 bedroom cabin and it was a blast. My cousin is trying to arrange a family reunion there next summer as the last time we went was 2005. I'm not sure if I will be able to go though as she's aiming for August which is one of my busiest times at work.
I am glad you enjoyed it. We always have a wonderful time up there. LOL about your trips to the cabin... We've had a full cabin like that a time or two - it can be so much fun! I hope you get a chance to go again some day.
I saw a few questions you had on your trip and as I didn't read the comments you may have already gotten answers. So skip over if someone has already answered. You were asking about the old Camp Mickey area in AK where FOTLK used to be. That area is completely blocked off now as they are building Avatarland back there. FOTLK was moved by Tusker House of course and all the meet and greets have been scattered throughout the rest of the park. Last I looked, Mickey and Minnie are together (the only place now that you can meet them together) on Discovery Island. They are in a building that used to be a store and if I remember correctly it's near where ITTBAB exits. Donald is over in Dinoland somewhere, I think near the trail next to Dinosaur. Pocohontas is somewhere on Discovery Island. Chip and Dale were meeting out at Rafiki's Planet Watch when we were there in February.
That's good to know... Well, I guess that makes the park logistically smaller - so less to walk, however less places to put people too -so it my feel more crowded? Kind of annoying that the characters are scattered about, I guess we will see all corners if the park this time. LOL
As for DTD, well I agree with most people that say avoid it on your last day. When Jim and I were there in May, it was an absolute mess. Construction walls were everywhere making the walkways very narrow. As of right now there is only one bus stop and one boat launch. The Pleasure Island bus stop was closed permanently a few weeks ago and the boat launch by the Rainforest Cafe is closed right now for renovations. I've heard that the bus situation is a nightmare right now with only one stop. All of the boats for the resorts are launching from Pleasure Island, they have a color coded flag system so you know which boat to get on. Jim and I had no problem with the boats in May but of course they are sometimes closed for wind or storms. I will be posting an update on my "Rock On" TR early next week that includes lots of pictures of the construction.
I am going to have to go pull up a DTD map to see where the current bus stop and boat dock are... I am a little confused. LOL I'll be watching for your update on your TR... This is the first I've heard about the boat docks being closed... Sigh. What a pain!
Oh shoot, I just got a pop up reminding me I need to go to a training class in 15 minutes. I think there was more I was going to say but I will have to stop here. Hope you have a nice day!
Thanks for stopping by Ariana - I've missed you! But I am glad to hear you had a good time with your Mom - I hope she is well.
PHEW!!! Glad you posted before the power outage!!! Just in the nick of time!
I love the toy story outfit! So cute, especially the shoe bling! A perfect day to wear it too.
EMH's...hahaha, I dont know, I am like you, if they were on a day I already planned, I would be there at rope drop too, but I sure hope Disney doesnt switch my days like that, bc I hate to wake up earlier if I dont have too!! On the other hand, I suppose I am ok with them changing hours as long as they ADD them and not take them away...they took away some evening EMH's on the day I have my dessert party and I was pretty bummed, but o well...
No kidding - right? LOL I would have been so mad!
Thanks! I do love my Toy Story stuff - it's one of my favorites... I love the bag too - but sadly, now that we carry the Frogg Toggs with us, my UPBs are a little too small, because Alli can't carry her's in her bag due to her DSLR, so I end up carrying all of them - it's kind of a pain. If I get to go on another trip, I may end up making myself a different TS bag?
Yup - that's the plan, when Disney changes the hours so close to people's trips, there is no option other than to keep your original plans and adapt. So, I am thinking we will be there for RD< and maybe take a break during the middle of the day? We'll see how it goes.
So sorry I have been AWOL for awhile, but I am back!! Have to say love the out fits, tweedle dee? or dumb? so cute. And I thinks its great your shirt is to big when you take it in give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done!! The other outfits are cute too!!! I just started looking at Disney bounding. Raina is doing a bounding outfit for Dapper Dan Day!!
On another note, I did our FP+ last night, got everything we wanted even A&E. So excited its all coming together!! yea
60 days for us!!!!!! woooooooooooooooooot
No worries Trish - it's great to see you! I've missed you here! Thank you! I believe my outfit is both Dee and Dum? Who knows? LOL
Thank you... I am hoping to make a little more progress before we go. Oooh Raina will have so much fun bounding!
Yay for getting all of your FPs!!! BONUS! WHOOOT! And 60 days...
You are a super rockstar, so you've probably already thought of this but I'm going to mention it anyway - since you have to start from scratch on auction bag #10, it might be easier to ship it your customer at her resort - that way it can be waiting there when she gets there and you'll probably give yourself an extra day since she won't need it in hand before she leaves.
Sometimes it is easier, but this particular customer prefers to have it shipped to her home, I did offer to ship to the resort if necessary though.
Love the Toy Story outfit! I bet it was awesome with the aqua tank too! I know you mentioned a couple different people who you have gotten your shoe bling from in the past - are either of them still taking orders? I only wear flips flops around the resort or when we are just going to the park for a short time, but I think my plain old flip flops would love some Disney bling!
Thank you! I liked it with the aqua tank... The only thing is, this year, all of my tank tops are primary colors, and not much variation in them... Everything is Red or Blue... With exception to my black dress and my light yellow tank on arrival day... So, I am a little worried that I am going to look the same every day.
Jennifer has made my shoe bling before, and also my friend Beth... I don't think Beth is doing it any longer? But to be honest - I have seen a few bow Places on Etsy, and if you can get them to do ponies rather than clips, the ponies work best... Then you just loop them around the flip-flop strap and hook them around the bow portion. Works great!
Can't wait to see your Magic Bands! I'm thinking ours might need some bling this time around but I may just order some decals, I don't really trust myself to make designs that I'll love all on my own.
Thank you! Me too - LOL. Trust me, mine is not going to be complicated... The girls' might be, but not I - I am not that talented of a painter. LOL
It's another crazy day at work for me. As far as I know we have no plans at all this weekend, which sounds great to me. We may do something fun with the girls tomorrow, swimming or a trip to the Alligator Farm and then I think Sunday my MIL offered to watch the girls for a bit so DH and I will probably have a lunch date.
I hope you had a great day at work, and it sounds like you have a potentially nice weekend with DH and the girls! Enjoy!
Are you going to share your post Disney workout plan to keep you motivated? I need to figure out how to get exercise back into my schedule, but it is far too hectic right now. I lost 3.2 pounds this week! Primarily just broke some bad eating habits (or, rather, slowed down on them considerably). A step in the right direction, at least.
Hope you have a great day and a great weekend, in case I don't make it back on until Monday.
Congrats on the nice loss this week and a step in the right direction - that's awesome!!! I am very proud of you! Well, when we get back from our trip, I plan to continue with my weight lifting, but I am going to drop off the 30DS and resume WATP... I am super lazy and I really hate to have to do more work than what's necessary. LOL :crazy2 But my plan for when I get home is more food related... It might take me a week or two to get started on it, since Brian and Myrthe will be here, so we will have lots of eating out and meeting up... But I plan to do the Whole 30. I was going to do it before we left, but then I figured that would really mess up my body while we are down there... To go from detoxifying it to eating lots of processed stuff - well it didn't make any sense... So, I've decided to use it as my tool to stay motivated once we come home.
I hope you have a great weekend too... Any luck on an August trip yet?
Love the Toy Story outfit. I mean love!!!! If I lived closer I would try to steal it.
Hahaha... And you even had the opportunity of seeing it in person last year.

I am glad you like it.
Oh, I have the 30 day shred. When I do those workouts, my kids hear words that they haven't ever heard come from me before. I cuss Jillian the entire time. The older two will flee the room if I mention putting Jillian in. Chelsea...she on the other hand is a fitness critique. Like having a mini Jillian in the room with me. Dips off the bench, she will be yelling, "Get your butt down to the floor!" Chelsea is a tough fitness coach. Maybe I should brush the dust off and attempt that again.
Oh yah... JM pisses me off like crazy!!! 30DS is HARD, which is why I only do it to prepare for "special occasions" LOL... But - it was kind of cool to see how my fitness has progressed since the last time I did it (which was this time last year)... I can now do full jumping jacks and I couldn't do any last year... I can do the butt kicks - although I am still not very coordinated, so they are hard. Full push ups, and I am using 6lb weights... So, I have made considerable progress. Which makes me very happy.
ROFL at Chelsea... She needs to come to my house! I need someone like her!
Have you heard much from your dad since he has been on this side of the country? It has been much cooler this week, with rain even.
I have not talked to him much... He is enjoying spending time with his family out there, I am sure. I've been watching for pictures to be posted on FB, but so far, only the one... I hope they will do more soon.
I saw that they had changed EMH for when I thought you were going to be there. I was wondering if it would impact you. I guess it did. Sorry about that. I am hoping there isn't too many changes for when we are there, but I think there has got to be at least one. They have evening EMH scheduled at MK 2 nights in a row. I don't see how that will stay.
I leave in 3 days. I will try to stay caught up, but I think I may fall behind. Have a very good week.
Yup - it sucks, but not much I can do about it... We'll get there at RD, and do the best we can... I am still hoping with all the Frozen stuff and us staying as far away from that as possible, will work to our advantage.
Have a great trip to DLR!!! I hope you'll tell me how the surprise turned out.
Your outfits are so stinking OFF THE CHARTS fabulous!!!

Man, when you get tired of those, you could probably sell them on Ebay, like really. Those are fantastic!
Thanks Oopsi... LOL Yah - I've actually considered auctioning a couple of my sets after I get home... There are a few of them which I am not sure I will ever use again? We'll see... but I bet you are right, I am sure they will sell.
So sorry about your custom auction bag gone awry! You have had so much on your plate lately, that is VERY unlike you. I know you well enough to know that you were beside yourself with anxiety over that happening. I hope the buyer was understanding and forgiving. I am sure she was, cause Disney folks are special like that!
You are right, that is very much unlike me - I guess that's why I was so shocked when it happened... And you are right - I was an absolute WRECK that night! Josh came home, I went downstairs... Told him to have leftovers for dinner and I was pulling an all-nighter...

But once I had it cut out and quilted, I felt a lot better, I knew my timeline a little better then, so I could relax.
Okay, I want Jillian to go to work at Starbucks now!!! That is a GREAT job for Alli! We JUST had a new Starbucks open in our town last Friday. I haven't tried to go yet since I have seen the packed parking lot and backed up drive-thru...: I will try when the excitement wears down a bit.
LOL - It's an awesome job for her... And like I've told others, it will be great for her when she goes to college too, because she can work in any coffee shop anywhere.
I wanted to tell you - I loved the pictures you posted last week with the Duck Commander stuff - you look FANTASTIC!!!!

And I loved your dress - you are so adorable!
I LOVE THE OUTFITS!!! i mean seriously how cute are you going to be?!?!?
Just love them!
LOL Thanks Mo - I am so excited about them! I hope I am as cute as I think I am going to be. LOL
Nice that you were able to get do it!!!
Glad you have a plan of attack on being able to fit into your shorts. I actually had a surprising moment this morning. I put on a pair of shorts that I haven't worn since last year and they were way too big!!!! Makes me feel good knowing that I'm on the right track with losing weight!!!
Thanks Sandra! I just hope my plan of attack works, LOL. I wore the one pair the day before yesterday and the other pair yesterday. They are super comfortable and I like how they look - even though they don't "feel" tight, I think they "look" tight... But I am certain that has more to do with all my excess skin, than anything else. If that makes sense?
Congrats on your loss too!!! That is so awesome! And it's great you are doing so well, it's so hard to lose when you have a newborn - as sweet as he is, I would just want to sit and cuddle him all the time.
Hello!
Just stumbled along your PTR. First, I want to say congratulations on your weight loss. I know how much of a struggle that can be. But, it looks and sounds like you are doing wonderfully!
Welcome! I am very happy you've found me! And thank you... Surprisingly, my weight loss hasn't been a struggle at all for me this time, I actually rather enjoy this way of life - and I really think that's part of my success. It's gotten easier as time goes on and as I've found what works for me.
The hardest part is that it's taking so long... but in all reality, I had a long ways to go when I started, and I still have a long ways to go.... So, as long as I am alive - I have the time to make adjustments. LOL
[Also, I just wanted to say how talented you are at sewing! I've got to say, I'm a little jealous!! LOL I wish I knew how to sew that good! Anytime I try and sew, I end up stitching the wrong ends, or almost chopping my fingers off!!!
Thank you! I have only been sewing for - what is it now? - 4 years? I think? Here's the link to my original post about how I learned to sew - if you are interested in reading...
Learning to sew
[I think you mentioned your daughter took the pictures at the beginning of your PTR? She has a real eye for photography!
Yes, thank you... She did take most of them. I like to think she has a wonderful talent, and I only hope with more practice, she will just continue to improve.
[Anyway, it sounds like you have a wonderful trip planned!
Thank you - we are all getting very excited to go!
[Also, I hope this isn't being too "nosy" (and if so, please forgive my asking), but can I ask what type of incident occurred before your last trip regarding the dates of your trip? I'm new-ish to the boards, and was thinking of posting a countdown ticker in my signature for our next trip, but now I'm a little worried that might not be the safest thing to do. I guess you can never be too sure with people today, unfortunately.
Not at all... To be honest -I would rather not say... However - MOST people here on Disboards do have a ticker and it is just fine... Personally, I feel safe here most of the time. There are lots of people in WDW at any given time, so odds of someone being able to target you is pretty small - especially if no one knows what you look like. However, I do have lots of people that follow my TRs/PTRs... And I have a bazillion pictures of my family and I here... It's just safer for us if I don't mention my dates and all of our exact plans.
**********************************************************
Yesterday... Well - it was only a *little* crazy. LOL
First, Alli had her dermatologist appointment... We took a different route than we normally do, and found ourselves arriving a lot early... I decided to use that time to run to JoAnns...
Found my stabilizer right away... Found the paints for our Magicbands right away... but it took me a while to find the sealer for them... And all they had was "water resistant" - not "waterproof"... So, I am a bit nervous about that. But it will have to do. Of course, we went to check out and we had the S.L.O.W.E.S.T. cashier EVER... and now we were running late for Alli's appt. FInally the cashier fumbled through the transaction and we were out the door running...
We made it to Alli's appt only 5 min late.

She had a good appointment this time and doesn't have to go back for 2 months... Usually her appts are monthly - so this is good.
After, we came back to town and went to the bank. The bank was having computer issues the other day when we were there... Essentially we had to go through all of the paperwork again yesterday. But everything is on track and Alli is officially a teen with a job and a real bank account! Big responsibilities for her to learn and for us to teach her in the coming weeks! I can only hope that the way we have lived our lives has rubbed off on her, and she is able to manage her own finances in a good and responsible way. I have no doubt about it... She is a good kid.
Then, I dropped her off at work and came home to work myself.
I finished up my custom order applique. I started all of my pre assembly work on Auction Bag #10 part II... I have to finish final assembly this morning - asap, as our PO closes at noon on Saturdays... and it MUST go out in today's mail. So, as soon as I am done here - I will be working upstairs.
I had to post this picture too... LOL The girls and I were goofing around the other night... I bet them that they couldn't do handstands, and I could. Hahaha... So they both tried several times - either not getting up at all, or falling on their heads... And guess who DID get up??? Moi!
LOL - I was pretty proud of myself... Yah - I am leaning on the wall, but that still takes a lot of strength!
Then, I noticed my legs... Check those babies out! Compare them to my AK parade photo from 2 years ago... I am pretty proud of the changes I've made! And the shorts - those are one of the pairs I am trying to get into... Trust me when I say, they look much better on me upside-down than right side up. LOL
I have not talked to my dad in a few days, I can only assume he is having a good time.
Anyways... I must get moving on my day... No rest for the weary/wicked - which ever you prefer.
I hope you all have a wonderful day/weekend... Prayers and good thoughts to all of you!
D~
