~ Sew Sweet 16 ~I’m packing your angry eyes just in case~Aug 2014~ BFF' bag 8/20!!!!

Happy mother's day!!! Too bad about the rain, but you can't go wrong with meat, right!!!!! It's funny, all I asked for is for my hubs to grill his famous cheeseburgers, yummy!!!!!!!:cool1:

that sounds like great progress on your auction. I am definitely gonna have to check it out this time

Happy Mother's Day D~ and to all the other Dis Moms out there. Hope you all have a wonderful day!!!

Firstly Happy Mother's Day to everyone - if you aren't a mother, you certainly had/have one!

Charlie and I went out to dinner last night. I had a craving for a crab cake. We had originally asked my son and dil to come over for dinner but they had other plans. Today I get to spend the day with my oldest dd, doing one of our favorite activities - watching an Orioles game!

I'm finally starting to get my energy back. I spent part of yesterday spreading 10 bags of mulch in one of the backyard flower gardens. Then I went back and bought 10 more bags. I guess I'll be spreading mulch this week in the evenings.

Its time to get back into an exercise routine, so I'm hoping to start my weight lifting again in the morning. Back to walking again too. That is going to happen today. Charlie is up to 4 miles and I really need to work up to that before I can go with him.

Have a great day everyone!

Happy Mother's Day to everyone!
The wedding was beautiful and it didn't rain. We'd been watching the forecast all week because they'd been predicting rain. There was a little drama with the groom mom but in all it went well. They got over $850 in Disney gift cards. They were very happy about that.
You've been very busy sewing hopefully you get it all done. Congrats for being able to fit into V.'s jeans.
I hope everyone has a great day.
Liz

Sorry had quote this one - :rotfl2: It's so something I would say. "starting to get energy...spread 10 bags of mulch."

Hoping everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day.

I agree - you do need your sleep... I always wondered how you did that? LOL

I will try to get a picture of V with her highlights tonight when we are doing cake.

Luckily Baby Jeffrey is a very good sleeper!! He'll last eat around 11 pm and sleep until DH gets up at 5:30 am when I'll wake him up to eat again. Then he's good until about 8:30 am. By then Sarah and Jeremy are at school and I've had my 1st cup of coffee. Then if I have no errands to run James will climbed into bed with me until about 10:30 am when I'll get up and get ready to get Sarah from school. I really hate that she only goes for about 3 1/2 hours but it is nice to have a couple hours to get her homework/lunch/reading done before it's time to go get Jeremy.

Wow! A hedgehog!! My kids want fish but that hasn't happened yet. :lmao: Glad she had a great birthday!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

Hahaha... There is nothing wrong with asking for meat for Mother's day. Or any other day, for that matter.

Happy Mother's Day D~ and to all the other Dis Moms out there. Hope you all have a wonderful day!!!

Thanks Mike! I hope Billie had a great Mother's Day too.

Thanks Tess. It sounds like you had a great Mother's day. I know how much ou love your Orioles. :thumbsup2

Hahaha about the mulch... You are quite ambitious! Glad to hear you are feeling better and going to start walking/weight lifting again. :woohoo:

16 days!

Thank you Liz - same to you.

So happy to hear that they wedding was beautiful and the weather cooperated. Woohooo for all the Disney GCs - that will be super helpful!

Thanks - I hope to get it all done too - it's going to be close.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!

Lissette

Thank you Lissette, same to you! :lovestruc

Hahaha, I agree. I loved your post on FB last night - it did make me chuckle. I hope you had a great day! :wizard:

THank you so much! Same to you!

It does sound like he is a great little sleeper. :lovestruc

LOL - Yah, Alli got a fish for her birthday... V received a hedgehog... So far, the fish is the "rowdy" one, but I suspect that's only because we don't have the hdeghog yet. :rotfl:

Thank you... I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day too. :wizard:

**********************************************************

I had a perfect Mother's Day yesterday... All of my family showered me with "Happy Mother's Day" wishes. :lovestruc

Allison wrote a nice post for BFF and I on Facebook:

Happy Mother’s Day you two! I love you both so much!

Mom - You’re the greatest mother anyone can ask for. You’re my best friend and you love me for the person that I am. You’re simply amazing because you accept everyone and your love is unconditional. You are a hard worker and an inspiration to me, as well as many others. I’m glad that I can call you my mom and my best friend. I love you.

Mom Robyn – Even though we aren't blood related, you’re the only person that I know that I can still consider my second mom. I can go to you for anything- you give me the best advice, and I know my secrets are safe with you. You have such a big heart, and you try to look out for everyone that you possibly can. You go out of your way for both me and my sister, and I just love you so much.

Thank you for both being in my life because I don’t know what I would do without either of you.

That was just so sweet.

Josh and I went to town to pick out my beef. :thumbsup2 We decided on porterhouse steaks... It's times like this - it's nice to have Alli as a vegetarian... So we only had to buy 3. :teacher:

I came home and took a nap. It was lovely.

Afterwards, we had an early dinner... It was divine. I even have leftovers for lunch for today and tomororw. I love leftovers!

Then, finally, I talked Josh into a Jeep ride - he wasn't too thrilled about it, but he indulged me. We drove our favorite route for the first time this spring - it was a bit chilly, but fun.

Gus came over to visit for a little while. He took us for a ride in his Camaro (which he just took out after having it stored all winter), then we all visited on the back deck.

Then we all watched the Wild Stanley Cup playoffs hockey game then I went to bed.

All in all, it was a wonderful Mother's Day.

Today... I'll be lifting shortly and working in my sewing room all day. I need to post pictures of last week's bag order too.

I am a bit nervous, even though I have not lifted since last week Wednesday, yesterday my right knee started bothering me. It doesn't hurt at all, unless I am climbing stairs... Then it's SUPER painful right behind my kneecap, towards the inside of my leg. I am so worried I did something to damage it, but I have no idea what? I haven't done anything at all in days. :confused3 So, I plan to take it very easy today and try my lifting... I'll see how it goes and adjust as necessary. I may have to go in search of my knee brace and wear it for a while.

Anyways... I hope that each of you had a wonderful Mother's Day! Sending out prayers and group hugs to all! :grouphug:

I need to get better about posting these, as our trip is quickly approaching!

Day3correctPhotobucket.jpg

I am very excited about this day... We always seem to have the most fun in DHS. We have several favorites here...

Of course, the drawing class is at the tippy top of our list... We usually try to do it twice.

Then, there's the standard rides... ToT, RnR, TSM, ST... :woohoo:

And let's not forget the food... We can get two of our favorites here... Napoleons and the famous PB&J Malts... Mmmm... It's going to be a GREAT day! :woohoo:

D~

Sounds like a good Mother's day for you. I had a good one too, even though I couldn't have any of my 4 children with me. I got lots of calls, Facebook messages and texts.

Don't forget to post the pic of last week's bag. I can't wait to see it!

Won't be long now until your Chicago trip. The time is just flying by. With all you are doing, you're really going to need that time away! Are you still bothered with flying?

Well, I'm off to bed since I only got about 2 hours of sleep last night. Hope you have a fabulous day in your sewing room!

I should probably do a post about customs too... Seeing as, we usually do quite a bit.

As much as it saddens me to say it, many of our customs will be reused from previous trips... All of our bags (Donald, Toy Story, Monster's Inc, Up...) - all of our coordinating head gear...

However, V does have a new dress she will be sporting - which I made last fall, but I never shared pictures of. I hope to do that soon.

I have plans for 2 new bags for myself. One of which is a Saddle Bag, and the other is similar to the bag I made Myrthe for Christmas.

I also plan to reuse many of the felt designs that Chiara made for me last year... They will be going on to different (smaller) tank tops. And since I have an embroidery machine, I may start working on a couple of new ones to add to the mix.

I ordered this shirt from TDS... So, I am planning an outfit around that - I am pretty excited about it!

7505002522711.jpg

I also have some NEW head gear coming from Jennifer! I am super excited about this - as you all know how I feel about Jennifer's head gear!

I have some great accessories coming from my friend Erin of Pixie Twist Designs... They should be here in a few days - and I am very excited to show you all.

I have a pair of shoes coming from Terri (Denovagirl) - which I am super excited about as well!

As of now, I don't have the time to make any new bags for the girls for the trip... :guilty: They each have 2, which will be pleanty.

But V will be getting a new autograph pillowcase... She loves how her's turned out last year, so she would like another one for her bed.

However, Robyn and Olivia have picked their themes, and they will each be getting a bag as a gift from me.

I have the last 3 weeks before our trip devoted to making our customs... I am praying it will be enough. I am planning to start on our own bags on the side just as soon as I finish the auction bags. It shouldn't be a problem at all, really, since it's only 4 bags. Only. :rotfl2:

I sure hope I am not missing anything. Am I missing anything? :confused3

D~

WOW! I have missed a ton!

So we need to get Tillie and Stevie together and let them loose IN YOUR HOUSE.. Stevie will show Tillie a thing or two.... :thumbsup2

I cannot wait to see her. Has V started making little outfits for her???

popcorn::

Can't wait to see what you make!!!! Love your plans.. I am a huge fan of HS. just a fun park!!!

Did i mention 16 days???
:cheer2:

Sorry had quote this one - :rotfl2: It's so something I would say. "starting to get energy...spread 10 bags of mulch."

Hoping everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day.

Ha Ha!! I took plenty of breaks - like one after each bag... I actually did feel better afterwards. I've been a real lay-about for the last 3 weeks and it feels good to actually get out and move.

Kate and I walked to the ball park from her apartment and then walked back past her apartment to go to the restaurant we chose. All in all I walked at least 3 miles, so that was good for me.

I love that Minnie tank!

Good morning my friend! I hope your knee is feeling better this morning....how was the workout?

Love that Minnie tank. I am hoping to find something while we are in Chicago....I have a list ;)

Have a great day, I gotta get ready for work. 15 days!!! Two weeks from tomorrow!!

I am glad that you had a good Mother's Day Lois... I wish you could have had some of the kids/grands with you, but at least you have a couple trips to see them coming up.

Shoot - you are right, I forgot to post last week's bag here. I will do that this morning.

2 weeks from tomorrow, we leave for Chicago... Sooooo excited!

I hope you were able to get some much needed rest yesterday. How is your mom doing? I've been thinking of her and your family.

Whoot - 15 days now. :woohoo:

LOL Oh yah - I don't think that would be much fun... I think V decided on Lottie (short for Charlotte) for a name... I mistakenly wrote Tillie. She has not started on any outfits for her - but you know her well - and that wouldn't surprise me at all.

Thanks!!! I sure hope I can get everything made that I want to make... I am getting very anxious to get started.

Cannot wait to see you again my friend. :cheer2:

Sounds like you had a good day yesterday

Thank you - I did. I hope you had a nice weekend, as well.

Totally forgot to add Happy Mother's day on here!!!!

Hahaha... Happy Mother's Day to you too.

I am so glad that doing the mulch helped you feel better. And the walk sounds great! I bet it felt wonderful too.

Thanks! I am excited about the Minnie Tank... I don't normally order my clothes from TDS, but I just loved that one!

I LOVE THAT TEE!!!!

That's all.

Nini

Hahaha... Thanks Nini... Me too! :wizard:

Good morning my friend! I hope your knee is feeling better this morning....how was the workout?

Have a great day, I gotta get ready for work. 15 days!!! Two weeks from tomorrow!!

Good morning Miss Suzi... My work out sucked. :( I tried to do my squats and I couldn't do them. So, I did everything but those. My knee feels fine... but the minute I try to climb stairs - it is the most excruciating pain. I just don't know what I did to it? And why it only bothers me in that situation? I am so sad. I am doing my best to rest it now and let it heal. It has to be better before Chicago!

Thanks! I love it too! I cannot wait to wear it.

I hope you have a great day today! So excited that I will be seeing all of you in 2 weeks - I can barely contain myself. :woohoo:

**********************************************************

I worked all day yesterday in my sewing room. I was able to get a nice chunk of this week's custom order done. Then I was able to cut out and quilt auction bag #7 and wallet #3. I am making progress. WHOOT! I did put a full day in my sewing room... I worked from 8am until 4pm, with only a short lunch break.

My knee is still bothering me... I am so upset about it. I was able to do my heavy lifting yesterday, but I could not do my squats. I tried - but the pain was so intense, I figured I was better off to not do them at all - rather than injure myself further. I am so annoyed because I was planning to move up to the next set of weights yesterday... Now I fear I will have to go back. Oh well - I need to continue to tell myself that this isn't a race. I am now babying it, praying it will get better soon.

I made spaghetti for supper last night... Now that I've figured out how to properly roast spaghetti squash - I LOVE it! Super delicious! The first time I made it, I didn't like it at all - so I am happy I've found a way to like it. :thumbsup2

In trip news... BFF and I have been making progress on a few minor/necessary purchases.

The first is these: http://www.amazon.com/Tide-Travel-S...=1399977949&sr=8-1&keywords=tide+sink+packets

I cannot go to Disney in August with out them. And they no longer sell them in stores. Sigh. They work excellent for washing the Frogg Toggs in the sink (they smell musty after a few days) and they are also great for washing out swimwear.

The second is these: http://www.amazon.com/iBRIGHT-LLC-P...&keywords=cell+phone+portable+battery+charger

Suzi borrowed me her's last year - and it was a life saver. Even though these aren't the exact ones we purchased, we did get something similar.

I have a very short list of items I still need to buy.

1. I still need to get a new pair of black Orthaheels... Believe it or not, I have lost weight in my feet - and mine from last year are huge and floppy on me.

2. Black shorts

3. Red shorts

Both of the above are to coordinate with planned outfits.

4. Possibly one more tankini top for my swimsuit. And a second pair of black bottoms.

The above are not necessary, but since I only wear Lands End swimsuits, they are a little thicker than normal swimwear and take longer to dry. I will be fine for the water park days, but I am concerned I will have to wear a wet suit if I want to swim at any other time. So, the more I think about it, the more I think I better invest in a 3rd suit. :rolleyes1

**********************************************************

I am at Target all day today... popcorn::

I hope you all have a wonderful day... Sending out prayers and good thoughts to all of my friends here on The Dis. :grouphug:

I just adore how this bag turned out... And I LOVE the fabric. I happened upon it a long time ago, and when this theme was mentioned to me, I just knew I was going to use it for this bag. Even though the theme is not "classic Pooh" the fabric reminds me of that. I just love it!
