~ Sew Sweet 16 ~I’m packing your angry eyes just in case~Aug 2014~ BFF' bag 8/20!!!!

Oh my gosh, Dad of the year award right here folks!!! A hedgehog?? My goodness. I can't wait to read all about the antics Tillie (I love that name!) will come up with. What in the heck do you feed a hedgehog?? :confused3 Sounds like too much fun!!! You could sure tell V was ecstatic to have her wish come true! Maybe Tillie can visit Stevie and they can play together. At Mo's house of course cause she'd never notice one more pet running around.:lmao: It will be interesting to see how MM gets along with her too. Fun and games!

I know what you mean about your Dad. I leave a message for my parents on their voice mail and they never listen to it. I hope all is well with him when you finally get in touch.

Hope you have a great shopping day. I have lots to do today including going to our shop where we buy all our meat (they raise their own and it's all grass fed and no antibiotics etc.). Ribs and chicken for Mother's Day…yum!

And in case I don't get back over the weekend, I want to wish you a very Happy Mother's day!!! You're doing a great job with your girls! :flower3:

ETA: Also meant to say Victoria looks fantastic! I just love, love her beautiful smile. And her hair looks great too. Don't laugh, but I think she looks a lot like the girl on the front of the book you got her.

V's hair looks great! I can see the highlights in it. She is a lovely young woman.

A hedgehog????? The most exotic animal my kids had was a white mouse named Slim. Not sure what I'd do with a hedgehog.

Sounds like your Dad is busy, busy, busy!

Have a great day shopping with BFF!

A hedgehog!!?!! You'll have to keep us all posted on how this goes, I think I'm not alone in knowing nothing about hedgehogs. It is awesome that you were able to get her just what she wanted for her birthday. The highlights look good. I understand what you mean about wanting them a little lighter, I hate going to the hairdresser and spending a ton of money for a subtle change that no one notices. Last night I went for a color but only got my hair trimmed since I was really happy with the length. Seems like a waste to just cover up the gray and have the same haircut.:sad2:

Congrats on your progress in your sewing room! You are doing great.

DH just texted me to let me know that we are having a date night tomorrow. Don't know where we're going yet either but I'm looking forward to some one on one time.

Enjoy your shopping day!

A hedgehog!?! I don't know much about them. What are you going to feed it. Will it live in a hamster cage or what? V looks like one happy girl :)

Happy birthday Victoria! The hedgehog is so ugly that it's cute!

I can't wait to see your newest custom bag! They just get me more excited for my own. A can of scotchguard has already been purchased in prep for mine :)

Why a hedgehog? He is kind of cute though.

I hope you have a successful shopping day.

Hope you get your steak dinner on date night.

Have a good weekend, and Happy Mother's Day.

My sister has had a couple of hedgehogs: Gunda and Lucy. My BIL would warn you all: They are nocturnal - but it looks like the person with the mama will be familiarizing them with humans pretty well. That's good

As for the craziness here - we've got two more weeks before school is down to the last stages and not going on many field trips. Until then...we're a Mad HOUSE. But in a fun way, usually.

I cracked up at Josh's shirt. We have a No-Fish-Shirt rule in our house all because of a shirt my sister got and then gave to BIL. I once described it as "So fishy you can actually smell them." He still wears it - mostly to annoy me and my sister. Josh's is much nicer, but still contraband in my house.

Hope your steak - erh - Date night was excellent.

A belated happy birthday to V. A hedgehog is certainly an unusual request.
V.'s hair looks really cute in your pictures.
I hope you were able to get all your shopping done today.
It's been really been warm the last couple days. I finally got the from flower bed cleaned out and the roses pruned.
yesterday my niece and I drove all over looking for sand for the center pieces. We finally had to go to Lowes after about 2 hours of looking. She did find some nice glasses at the thrift store she got them for half price since they were having a sale. the center pieces came out nice we used beach glass and seashells instead of flowers.
I hope everyone has a good day.
Liz

Happy Late Birthday V!! What a great surprise for her birthday! Now thats a happy girl.

Getting caught up, love the Frozen back, the applique and inside material are beautiful.

I'm getting excited about the auction bags, can't wait to see them.

***Can I ask for some good vibes and thoughts?? :flower3:(not trying to hijack sometimes just need to talk)....

Since the the begining of April DH has been in the ER 3 times and admitted twice with a dime size kidney stone. After two procedures, one going in to try and get it and placing a stent and the second a Lithotripsy (not the best procedure since hes a big guy), he still has the kidney stone. Well in the process of the second procedure they broke his two front teeth which means we had to have them removed... keeping track? 3 ER Visits, 2 admissions, 1 kidney stone and missing two front teeth. They removed the stent last week (yeah for less pain). Well I went to pick him up at work on Wednesday and he said his mouth and face were numb, I asked if he had tingling or pain anywhere else and he said no. Should I have taken him to the ER then, probably yes but with the symptoms being just in the head I wasnt too concerned just thought maybe it had something to do with his teeth and maybe he had bitten the inside of his mouth. Well yesterday he went to the movies at DTD and I went to pick him up and noticed that it was worse, slurring, face drooping, eye watering, not able to smile....so off to the ER we go. They wisked him back (Thank you Dr. Phillips ER) and did a CT. Come to find out he has Bells Palsy.
Recap! 4 ER visits, 2 admissions, 1 dime size kidney stone, missing two front teeth and Bells Palsy. Oh forgot to tell you this, he has had 3 cornia transplants and is now blind in his right eye. I honestly think he is falling apart! They are waiting for the kidney stone to drop further in the kidney before they try to go in again and get it.

These last couple of months have been rough! We moved and then all of this started. I dare anyone else to say "well at least nothing else can go wrong"!:rotfl2:

I am behind. I hope to go back to see V's baby pictures. Happy Birthday to her!!! My daughter just had her 4th birthday last week. Tine does go so fast. So sorry I have not updated, the app on my phone loses my replies and then I give up. So last time I was at the doctor was at 9 weeks, and there was a healthy heartbeat. I have to wait until 13 weeks for my next appt, which is killing me. I also found out my progesterone levels dropped and now have to get shots 2x week. Last one made my hip feel like it was out of socket. I am still hopeful, but worried and hope at 13 weeks I can feel a little less worried. It is really hard. I hope you have a great date night and hope to keep you posted a little better.

No worries - just happy to see you stopping by. Thank you. I am glad to hear that everything was going well at 9 weeks. I will continue to pray that everything goes well.

Morning D!

Congrats on completing the next custom order! I can't wait to see it!

V looked so happy at her birthday celebration! How exciting on the hedgehog. We had one in our extended family. His name was Ozzie. He was a funny little character. We miss him.

Anyway, have a great day shopping!

Thanks! I was excited to have it done too.

I certainly hope that V's hedgehog is nice... It could be a bad thing if it wasn't handled much - but it sounds like the breeder handles them a lot.

Oh my gosh, Dad of the year award right here folks!!! A hedgehog?? My goodness. I can't wait to read all about the antics Tillie (I love that name!) will come up with. At Mo's house of course cause she'd never notice one more pet running around It will be interesting to see how MM gets along with her too. Fun and games!

Hahaha... Yes, it should add some fun to our boring household. LOL Not a clue what it eats? That's V's job to figure out. :confused3 I know nothing about hedgehogs... Except that hissing is OK and clicking is not. :scared:

I know what you mean about your Dad. I leave a message for my parents on their voice mail and they never listen to it. I hope all is well with him when you finally get in touch.

Yah - I need to try to call him again today - after church, of course.

Hope you have a great shopping day. I have lots to do today including going to our shop where we buy all our meat (they raise their own and it's all grass fed and no antibiotics etc.). Ribs and chicken for Mother's Day…yum!

I wish we could afford grass fed beef... It's just so expensive here and our grocery budget doesn't stretch that far. :( But - I console myself that we buy from the local meat market, we know the farmer who raises the beef.. And they are pastured for most of their lives. We just do the best we can. :thumbsup2

And in case I don't get back over the weekend, I want to wish you a very Happy Mother's day!!! You're doing a great job with your girls!

Thank you very much Lois - the same to you!

ETA: Also meant to say Victoria looks fantastic! I just love, love her beautiful smile. And her hair looks great too. Don't laugh, but I think she looks a lot like the girl on the front of the book you got her.

Thank you - lol.. Yes, those were great pictures of her... and I see a little resemblence... The book is actually a spin-off of Alice in Wonderland.

V's hair looks great! I can see the highlights in it. She is a lovely young woman.

Thanks Tess... I wish they were a little more noticabe... If there is a next time - we will remember to go lighter.

A hedgehog????? The most exotic animal my kids had was a white mouse named Slim. Not sure what I'd do with a hedgehog.

Hahaha... Yah - I know... Not a clue? :confused3

Sounds like your Dad is busy, busy, busy!

I hope so... I hope he isn't mad at me because I couldn't make it up this month... I warned him at Easter that it probably wouldn't happen since I have to work every weekend in May. :scared:

Have a great day shopping with BFF!

Thank you - we had fun.

A hedgehog!!?!! You'll have to keep us all posted on how this goes, I think I'm not alone in knowing nothing about hedgehogs. I know... Well, it should make life around here a little more interesting?

Thanks... Yes, I think next time we will go a little lighter... Thankfully my stylist is pretty reasonable.

I understand your issues about covering the gray... I am 2.5 weeks from my next color and my gray roots are driving me crazy!!! I LOVE fresh color! And I got lucky this time with an appointment the day before I leave for Chicago. :woohoo:

Congrats on your progress in your sewing room! You are doing great.

Thanks! I hope to finish my current bag today. Sadly - my family has banned me from working in my sewing room tomorrow.

DH just texted me to let me know that we are having a date night tomorrow. Don't know where we're going yet either but I'm looking forward to some one on one time.

Enjoy your shopping day!

Oh fun!!!! I hope you have a wonderful time!

A hedgehog!?! I don't know much about them. What are you going to feed it. Will it live in a hamster cage or what? V looks like one happy girl

Hahaha... Well - I don't know. It's V's job to research it and buy what she needs. Hedgehogs actually need a lot of space... Some people recommend buying a large clear "Rubbermaid" container - rather than glass. I guess that hedgehogs don't chew? :confused3 It should be an interesting adventure for all of us. :scratchin

Happy birthday Victoria! The hedgehog is so ugly that it's cute!

I can't wait to see your newest custom bag! They just get me more excited for my own. A can of scotchguard has already been purchased in prep for mine

Thanks Carrie... Your's is coming quickly!

Why a hedgehog? He is kind of cute though.

I hope you have a successful shopping day.

Hope you get your steak dinner on date night.

Have a good weekend, and Happy Mother's Day.

Not a clue Kathy? LOL But - as long as she is happy and she is caring for it... well??? LOL

Thanks, I did.

No steak. Sad. BUt I did get beef - so that's good. ;)

YOu too!!! I hope you have a wonderful Mother's day!

My sister has had a couple of hedgehogs: Gunda and Lucy. My BIL would warn you all: They are nocturnal - but it looks like the person with the mama will be familiarizing them with humans pretty well. That's good

Hope your steak - erh - Date night was excellent.

Oooh - I did know that they are nocturnal... but it will be living in V's room and she is slightly nocturnal, as well. So, it should be a good fit. :rotfl2:

Yay... The end of the craziness is in sight! :woohoo:

LOL... He wore another fish shirt last night too... He has several fish shirts - which he wears in the summer. In the winter, it's pheasant shirts. :confused3

Thanks! It was fun!

A belated happy birthday to V. A hedgehog is certainly an unusual request.

Thanks Liz! SHopping was good... Glad you've had good weather, and found some sand.

Today is the big day????? Yay!!!! Best of luck to the happy couple! :lovestruc And Happy Mother's day to you tomorrow.

Happy Late Birthday V!! What a great surprise for her birthday! Now thats a happy girl.

Oh no Cindy... This is just terrible and awful. I cannot imagine how painful all of this must be for DH? And how scary it must be for you. Of course you are in our prayers. Please keep us updated as you can.

A hedgehog, that is so cool!
D, you look amazing

LOL... It should be interesting, for sure. And thanks Erin... I am starting to get to the point where I am shocked every time I look in a mirror, as I do not recogize the reflection... Yet it's the same reflection I thought I saw when I was at my biggest. :confused3 They mind works in mysterious ways.

Happy birthday to V!

I love the hedgehog - made me think of this little guy: http://www.buzzfeed.com/chelseamarshall/norman-the-scraggly-toothed-hedgehog-is-all-you-need-today

Lissette

Thanks!!!

LOL I love that!

**********************************************************

So, yesterday was shopping day... BFF and I did a LOT of shopping.

We were at Trader Joe's bright and early at 8am. I purchased a few things there...

Then to the natural foods store... I purchased a few things there.

By then, the mall was open... I had an exchange to do at American Eagle... I was in need of shorts. The happy note - every pair of shorts I tried on were 12's and a couple of 10's. :whoohoo: Sadly - the only pair that looked good on me ran small, so I had to buy a 14. LOL Figures.

Then, I had to cash in my "free Underwear" coupon at Victoria's secret.

Because if my exchange - I was out of the mall spending less than $6. :)

From there, it was Sam's club. Because of all the veggies we've been eating, I thought I would try to buy the bulk of our veggies there... I purchased everything on my list - in bulk sizes, of course - and it was the same price had I purchased it at our local grocery store. So, I think I did OK. I also wound up with a new maxi skirt. :rolleyes1

Off to Target... I am finding my Target purchases to be less and less - as there is really nothing there that I buy anymore. However, Doritos were bogo this week - so I stocked up. I don't eat them, but the family does.

Finally - it was off to the grocery store... I had a handful of veggies to get that Sam's didn't have.

Phew... Then it's time to come home and unload it all... :crazy2: That's the worst - to be honest. Finding room in our two fridges and 3 freezers is almost impossible, especially since our hog just came in and we have ground beef coming in a few weeks. But - on the plus side, I really LOVE being stocked up for summer. It makes things easier on us.

As soon as Josh came home, we left for town. Dropped V off at school for her event... Then we went out for dinner at Green Mill... I had a hamburger (no sauce, no bun). It was good... It was beef, so I was happy.

Then we went to see "Heaven is for Real"... Good movie. Very thought provoking movie. I thought I would cry, but I did not. Although, Josh had to ask me every 10 minutes "are you OK?"... Yes!!!!! Geez!!! It was so quiet in the theatre too, so everyone heard it. I guess I should be so happy that he is attentive. :flower3:

I will be working in my sewing room all day today. Well, not all day - just until noon. I am hoping to finish my 6th auction bag and maybe the coordinating wallet? We'll see.

That is all.

I hope that each of you has an amazing Mother's day. :lovestruc Sending out prayers and pixie dust to all of you! :grouphug:

Wow I am way behind. Happy belated birthday V, love your hedgehog, so cute. Now that's one pet I never had......lol Hope everything is going great in your neck of the woods. We are doing good here. Got FD but had to change resorts to get it so back at CSR BC. lol

I was wrong about the most exotic pet - my son Andrew had a Chinchilla when he was in college named Pancho. He was the absolutely cutest thing ever. Very friendly, but he did like to chew. We kept him one summer while Andrew was in College Park doing a co-op and could not keep him in the room he rented. Chinchillas are also nocturnal and they are very susceptible to heat, so we had to keep him in the basement. Andrew and Charlie built a huge cage for him since they also need lots of room to roam.

My brother had a hedgehog (named Pinnsvin, which is Norwegian for hedgehog), and we watched him a few times. He had an under bed plastic container as his home, with a wheel and a few other toy objects, I want to say tunnel was one of them. Hedgehogs really like to have a safe, quiet place to sleep, so he had an upside down plastic tub (like a margarine tub) with a doorway cut into it for his little sleeping hut.

I hope you have a great work day and great weekend. We're taking the boys to Lowes so they can build their own little wooden cars - it's a free clinic that they have every month (Home Depot has a similar kids workshop), and the kids get to build sturdy wooden toys. They have a blast and it's free fun for all of us.

Hi Raina! Thanks for stopping by. :thumbsup2 We are doing well - thank you. OOOoooh - FD - you know how I feel about FD! :woohoo: That is soooo awesome! I am very happy for you!

Sounds like you had a busy and exhausting shopping day. Have a great weekend

Thank you - I did... but it was fun. I always love my shopping days.

LOL I have heard that Chinchillas are a litlte difficult to care for. I hope that hedgehogs are easier. :confused3

Thanks Meg... It was recommended to us that we get a 110 qt. Rubbermaid container for it, vs. a glass aquarium... and I will say that the Rubbermaid container fits V's budget much better. She has some birthday $$ and $$ from babysitting that she is using to pay for everything she needs for her new Hedgehog. I hope she has enough.

I hope you had fun at Lowes... We (ahem - Josh) used to do the HD one all the time wth the girls. Lots of fun.

Happy Mother's day!

Thank you so much Ruth!

Thank you Judy! Same to you!

**********************************************************

First off... I did not go around to all of the PTR/TRs that I follow to sprinkle Mother's Day wishes... As much as I want to do that - I always end up forgetting someone and I feel horrible about it. So....

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY everyone!!!!

Yesterday was a good day... I worked in my sewing room all morning. I finished UPB #6 for the auction and wallet #2 - at 11:52am. That's pretty good timing, considering I was only working until noon yesterday.

I'd love to get up there today and start #7, but I think my family would murder me? If I've figured my schedule properly, I should be able to get #7 done this week between my custom order. I should be able to start #8 this coming weekend. And I should be able to start/finish #9 the following week... Which brings me right up to the weekend before Chicago. I wanted to have all 10 UPBs done before Chicago, but I am quite certain that will not happen. Oh well... I should be able to knock that one out the week after I get back? I still have a few accessories I"d like to do too... :scratchin We will see?

I don't think we are doing anything special today? I am a low-key type person. I only had 2 requests for Mother's Day... My first request was for Josh to smoke a "big hunk of beef" for me... And my second request was a Jeep ride... Which I am not sure is going to happen - we are supposed to get rain most of today. :confused3

Tomorrow is back to my heavy lifting... I am going to try again at adding the next 10 lbs of weight... The last time I tried (about a month + ago), I couldn't over head press it over my head to get it on my shoulders... I am hoping I have built enough muscle over the last several weeks that I can accomplish this now.

Oh - something exciting happened to me the other day... I was walking past V's room and I saw her Hollister jeans laying on the floor... :scratchin So, I went in and tried them on... Do you believe they fit? :woohoo: I was super excited! So, I ordered myself 2 pairs of Hollister shorts for this summer... I never thought I would fit into Hollister clothes. Now, let's just hope they look OK when they get here. LOL And no... I did NOT order the short-shorts. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

I hope that each and every one of you have a fantastic Mother's Day! :grouphug: Sending out prayers and good thoughts to all who have asked for them (and all who didn't).

D~
