Sew much to do, sew little time - but it was worth it! New PTR link posted! ~~~~~~~~~

Yah- MM and Eeyore were approx the same size for a while. We had to put Eeyore away for a while - MM liked him too much. :rolleyes1

was eeyore his special "friend" :rotfl2::rolleyes1

Yes, he is getting to be a "big boy" - but he is such a good dog - for now - he hasn't quite gotten into his rebelious teenage years - I am not looking forward to that.

at least he won't talk back or argue with you :rotfl::rotfl:

I hope your machine is better now Andrea.

Yes, I can't believe how big he is. He is just a hair smaller than Rufus was.

Yah - Goldens are probably too big in general to be in a condo. I can't believe how much running room he needs - because he is usually pretty mellow all day long, he likes to nap most of the morning and afternoon away. But once 3-4pm hits, he runs non-stop, and has soooo much energy. We throw his tennis ball all day long and he is perfectly happy to fetch it.

ssounds like the teenager is just around the corner

I know - he is just barely starting that stage... A few more weeks, I am afraid.

I'll be spending the morning in my sewing room - I have an applique to work on - I was waiting for the fabric, and it finally arrived yesterday afternoon... So, I got is washed last night and in the dryer this morning. :woohoo:

Meanwhile - I know some of you will be happy about this... I was working on cutting out the prototype for my drawstring backpack. :thumbsup2

Unfortunately - I had to set it aside, because I got a phone call from my cousin... Long story short - he hasn't called me for 3 years... He was upset beause of something he asked me to do for him... He wanted it for free - and I had given him a generous discount as it was... So, out of the blue, he called me yesterday and wanted to chat... popcorn:: No mention of that previous project - or the fact that he suddenly dropped out of my life right then - and we were quite close.

Anyways... I better get on with my day. :wizard:

D~

got to love family don't you:rolleyes::rolleyes:

hope the bag work goes great today, can't wait to see it!

Hope you had a good Father's Day :) We didn't do anything special. DH took ds to a new fishing spot but they only got small fish and cam home really early. I made dinner (nothing fancy, but at least I didn't make dh cook!). Sewing wise I started a circle skirt for dd. All I need to do is buy some colored elastic at Joanns to finish it up -- it's for the fall though as it's a thin corduroy so I don't need to rush to Joann's. I would like to get it done though b/c if it looks good on dd and fits ok it's worth making some more -- easy peasy thus far.

Thanks Andrea... We did have a nice Father's Day. I made a nice dinner, and then V made Josh his favorite rhubarb cake... We gave him a couple of gifts (his Monkey Dust I ordered him from FL) and V got him an Angry Birds tee shirt.

The girls and I had to run to town yesterday... Sometimes I wonder what I am thinking? I didn't have the right color of thread for this applique I am working on - so I had to use 3 hours out of my day to run and buy this thread. It's like, I think I plan ahead, then I get to a certain spot in my bag making and realize that I am missing something - I get really frustrated with myself for that!

Last night, we had some pretty intense storms roll through just as we were going to bed. I am a huge storm scared-d-cat, and I hate them so much. I don't mind a nice thunderstorm, but once they turn severe - I am a wreck. So, Allison was still awake - she came downstairs with me... Eventualy the rest of the family joined me because the sirens were blaring. We didn't actually all go to bed until the storms were done at 2am. Of course, MM had to get up and go potty at 6am, so I have been awake since then - I am soooo tired. And everyone else is still sleeping...

I plan to hibernate in my sewing room today. I don't think I will finish this bag - but I don't have that much left to do - so I might? Tomorrow for sure. Then it's back to working on my back pack prototype. popcorn::

I hope everyone has a fabulous day!

D~

sorry about the storms...hope there wasn't any damage!

what is 'monkey dust' :confused3

happy you had a good day!

When I was pregnant with my third...we got stuck in a tornado in our car! I went into hysterical labor (only about 26 weeks) Ever since then I am a complete baby when storms are around! I have a wonderful apartment in our basement where we always go. The kids go to sleep while we watch the tv for storm reports! (we even have a battery tv for when the power goes out.)

If I wasn't afraid of the power going out, I 'could' work in my studio since that is where it is as well!

I am right there with you in the storm issues! LOL...but if you hibernate in your sewing room...it might not be the most comfortable place to sleep! LOL!

----------

I have been unable to get into Dis since early last week...my malware kept blocking it! Now that I can get in...I feel like a junkie getting their fix (or at least how I imagine that would feel having never been in that situation........)

LOL!

I had this happen with a male cousin once before and things are still not right between us, though we are on speaking terms again. I feel for you! So sad they feel like they should get something for nothing just because you are related. Sorry

Wow! On those MM then and now pics....can't believe how much he has grown!

I hate storms and tornados freak me out.

I can't wait to see your new bag D.

Hope you are making great progress on your next bag. It's so frustrating when you are out of something you need and have to make a special trip to get it!

hope you are making great progress on your next bag because I am so excited to see your backpack prototype.

happy sewing!

From Wikipedia:

Rhubarb is usually considered to be a vegetable; however, in the United States, a New York court decided in 1947 that since it was used in the United States as a fruit, it was to be counted as a fruit for the purposes of regulations and duties. A side effect was a reduction on imported rhubarb tariffs, as tariffs were higher for vegetables than fruits.

So, does rhubarb cake count as a vegetable or fruit serving :rolleyes1
I've heard of rhubarb pie, but cake

I think this turned out to be a great bag!

I really struggled with what the main color should be. The person that ordered it requested the Hawaiian print to match Lilo's dress, and I had the worst time deciding what to do for the rest of the bag. That is part of the reason I am running so far behind. If I can't visualize it in my head, then I have a hard time starting. It wasn't until I found the interior pocket fabric that it really pulled the whole bag together for me. I also love that I quilted this bag in red - it gives it a loud pop!

I love the front ruffle and I love the Hawaiian piping around the zipper.

Love the stitch bag. That detail on the zipper is awesome!

 it D~....especially the tushie part  think that's my favorite part! the colors and fabrics are great!

Aw, Stitch came out cute! I think the pocket fabric really ties it all together too.

So this got me thinking (and sorry if I'm being too much of a nosy-Nellie) but what ever became of the bag that V was working on for her godmother's (or was it aunt's?) birthday?

Love the Stitch bag! The back of the bag made me chuckle. I think you did a good match to Lilo's dress! What color is the thread for the quilting?

The Dumbo bag is still my favorite though!

Holy cow, I can see where that one would have been difficult to pull together in your creative mind...you did a BRILLIANT job of it. Another great bag!
