Nini... Finished size will be roughly 8.5" tall by 6.5" wide - roughly. I only say that because I haven't even made the prototype yet, just a drawing... so that could vary slightly. You definately won't be able to get much more than the "essentials" into it... a small wallet, chap stick, kttw and PP cards... Maybe a small P&S camera? As long as your wallet is small enough... There will be a zippered pocket on the back for a cell phone, and a front slip in pocket for a folded park map or 2.

It's OK Judy - you should know by now that my TR is everyone's TR. I am usually pretty good at sharing... Oh - that's right - it's Friday... Hmmmm... I know there was something I was supposed to do today?

I'll be working on my next bag all day... I got it cut out yesterday and most of the way quilted, I'd like to finish the quilting today and get a good jump on the applique (actually, I'd really like to finish the applique).

Alrighty everyone... Here it is...

This was a super fun bag to make... It was another bag that was designed in my head during the middle of a sleepless night.

It was quite crazy how it all came together, and how it all worked out.

I did some things to this bag that I have never done before - and I was so surprised when it actually worked.

I had the wallet all cut out and ready to applique for almost a month, I knew what I wanted to put on it - but I knew that would be really hard, and to be honest, I didn't want to tackle it because I wasn't sure I could pull it off. So, I spent a good portion of the month trying to find something else to applique on the wallet, and I just couldn't find anything. In the end, I buckled down and I went with my original idea, surprisingly it turned out.

Anyways - I won't keep you waiting any longer...

Elephants on Parade

The front of the bag features a front slip-in pocket and a front zippered pocket. The entire bag is centered around the newly refurbished Dumbo ride. The red and yellow striped fabric paired with the blue ruffle that encircles the entire bag, is reminiscent of a traditional circus tent, and really gives off the feeling of days gone by, the bright & bold colors make this bag really stand out. There is also a "peanut" zipper pull.

I had a difficult time choosing an applique for this bag. I chose Dumbo wearing his clown outfit, because as far as I know - this has never been done before. I know it is a sad part of the movie, but it immediately follows with the portion where Dumbo learns he can fly. And besides, who can resist an adorable Dumbo in his clown outfit?

I love that I was able to carry the ruffle around the entire bag, to give off the impression of the back of the circus tent.

The interior of the bag features Barnum & Bailey Circus fabric, with a quilted slip-in pocket. Remember, when you were a child, and you would watch cartoons? When ever they would go to the circus - they would show the crowd of people in the stands as a bunch of different colored dots... So, I wanted the inside of the bag to be full of circus performers, and the pocket to be the "audience".

I put so many details into this bag that I just can't even begin to describe all of them to you. But one of my favorite details - which I have mentioned previously - is the different colors of stitching I used on the interior pocket. No one will ever see it or notice it, I am sure - but it's there - and it's fun.

The other side of the interior features a zippered pocket.

The Zippered Wallet features an applique of, none other than, Timothy the Mouse. He played a huge role in helping Dumbo "find himself" and all along, I felt he was the perfect accessory for this set. The applique turned out really well, and I am so happy that I stuck with my "gut feeling".

I was able to carry some of the embelishments from the UPB to the wallet, in order to do that, I had to put a pocket on the back... I love how it turned out!

This set also features a lanyard. I've discovered, while carrying my own wallet/lanyard set at WDW, that this combo also makes an excellent pin trading accessory. The pins attach to the lanyard for trading, and the "keepers" fit nicely in the Zippered Wallet.

And just for the fun of it... An action shot of Patience... Working hard, as usual!

I hope everyone enjoyed seeing my Launch bag, again, it was super fun to get my creative juices flowing and design something that really pushed my limits on how to make my basic UPB fun! ​
