Sew much to do, sew little time - but it was worth it! New PTR link posted! ~~~~~~~~~

Every time I see one of your bags it becomes my favorite. But I always have a special place in my heart for Minnie. She is beautiful!

Nini

This may or may not get me caught up.

:magnify: House remodel looks great. Certainly gives meaning to "pride of ownership" when you've made it so much your own.

princess: Allie's dress is beautiful. I don't think I've even in my whole life worn something strapless (and probably won't start now) but it looked wonderful on her.

:drive: Josh's Jeep is cool. My first car was a convertible -- which I loved -- but I never learned how to drive standard. Yer a smart one.

:woohoo: The placemats and napkins looked amazing in "person." How nice that they are using them and sent you a photo.

:upsidedow <----reserved for whatever I'm forgetting.

::MinnieMo Minnie would be honored and delighted to see your new bag. It looks terrific.

:mickeybar <--- for good measure

Then I spent the day trying to get some sneak peeks of my launch bag uploaded to Facebook, I am not sure what is going on with Facebook (or me?), but I posted a sneek peek picture to my Fan page, and it didn't show up in my personal feed. I don't think it showed up in anyone's feed, because I didn't have any comments or likes on it at all. I tried 3 different times. I uploaded it this morning to the Main Street Boutiques fan page, and that showed up in my feed (even though it took an amazing amount of time to upload) - so hopefully some people will see it now... And for your viewing enjoyment... I huge sneak peek of my Launch bag:

IMG_5212aa.jpg

I contacted one of my neighbors - they have this really awesome limestone barn foundation (which is now a garage) - and I asked her if I can use it for the backdrop of my official Launch bag photos, and she said I could. WHOOT! I am super happy about that, because I just couldn't figure out where to take these photos at... It seems that everyone else in the launch has a pool or something spectacular in their yard to use as a background - not I. I guess I could go across the street to the park too, we have the really awesome old playground equipment over there (you know, the metal slide and the metal merry-go-round) - so that would be a fun place to take pictures too... Maybe next time?

I managed to order our Valleyfair season passes yesterday. My bff is a single mom (her dd was born right in between my girls) - so they have grown up together. Well, on Monday, she lost her job - she has been with her company for almost 15 years. It was very sudden, and she just wasn't prepared. Thankfully, she does have some vacation pay outs coming, and some investment $$ she can use as a last resort. Her car is paid off, and her freezers/cupboards are full. Anyways... There probably won't be much fun in their lives in the near future, and even though her and Josh don't get along, Josh gave me his blessing to purchase season passes for her and her dd to Valleyfair - since they almost always go with us. It wasn't something I was prepared to do in our budget, but I was able to make it work. She has been such a good friend to me for a very long time, and emotionally kept me stable while Josh was in Iraq - I know, in a heartbeat, she would do anything for me - so I was glad to be able to give them something fun to do this summer.

It's supposed to rain today, but I need to run to town to get a few household items. I am going to work on my UPB assembly this morning though. I am also uploading photos for my Day 9 update, since I am up early, I have time to sneak in a little update. :thumbsup2

I hope that each and every one of you are having a marvelous holiday weekend! :grouphug: And Marianne, where ever you are, please know I am thinking of you and praying for safe travels to RI this weekend.

D~

I LOVE the launch bag (or at least what I've seen of it so far). I don't think you will have ANY trouble starting a bidding war over it!

That was SO SWEET of you guys to purchase your friend's tickets! Praying she finds a job quickly though.

Remember last year, when I made that huge wedding gift for my BIL and his new wife? I spent a good two weeks sewing non-stop... a fairly simple project turned into a much larger one because I didn't taken into consideration all the cutting and ironing...

I had made them service for 12, reversible placemats, reversible table runner and napkins:

And why is this relevant now, you ask? Well, yesterday was their 1st Anniversary, and they had a nice dinner at their house... Myrthe was so kind to send me pictures of their place settings... I makes me feel wonderful that they truly loved them and are using them - so I had to share... Itsn't it marvelous?

Thank you so much for letting me share...

I think I get more enjoyment out of seeing people use and enjoy my items than the actual act of making them. That's why I really love to see when people post pictures of my bags in the parks - it gives me the biggest smile to know that people really love my stuff and they are willing to carry it in public... :cloud9:

D~

YAY! those look great! And I totally get what you mean by being happy when someone actually USES something you took the time to make them.

YAY for having your own personal PP photographer! That shot of Alli/Victoria is stunning! And I'm sorry that Alli felt so badly the whole time. You are right, you never would know it because she poses so well! Both of your desserts from LTT look DIVINE!

Here is the definition of the Jeep Wave:

The Rules of the WAVE

Warning
Owning, registering, insuring, or driving a Jeep implies knowledge of and intent to abide by the following rules. Failure to obey the rules may result in your being ignored by other Jeep owners as you sit along the side of the road next to your stalled vehicle in a blizzard surrounded by Saturns, Yugos, and Hyundais.

Definition: The Jeep Wave

An honor bestowed upon those drivers with the superior intelligence, taste, class, and discomfort tolerance (exception to 97 and newer Jeep owners) to own the ultimate vehicle - the Jeep. Generally consists of either a raised hand waving or 4 fingers extended upward from the steering wheel, but may be modified to suit circumstances and locally accepted etiquette.

Examples of commonly accepted modifications:

Top off: One handed wave above windshield or outside body tub.

Top off during blizzard: Shiver and nod, hands may remain frozen to steering wheel.

Southern/rural locations: No wave, just a nod.

General Rules:

1. All Jeepers are responsible for upholding the tradition of the Wave. It seems that generally the Jeep wave is only practiced by Jeep owners driving the following Jeep vehicles; CJ, YJ, TJ, JK.

2. All Jeepers are required to return the Wave even if it's a Grand Cherokee or Compass.

3. Do not EVER wave to Hummers, even if you know the person.

HA HA HA this is HILARIOUS! :rotfl2:

Phew... I finally finished... With working so much last week at my *real job* and having the holiday weekend... it was just really hard for me to manage my time to complete this bag, but it's finished, and I am happy with it. :thumbsup2

Minnie is BEAUTIFUL! Fantastic job!

My brother in law bought a mid-life crisis jeep. I think I'll share this with him :lmao:

I imagine he already participates: you know the "It's a Disney thing" - yeah, "It's a jeep thing."

The first time I was with my dh and he did this; I fell out laughing (not literally, it's an expression - is it an expression across the country?) You'd have to know my dh to understand that it is not his personality...

I get stressed when I drive the jeep over "the wave." First, it is a new jeep and it is my dh's baby. (I think he checks for scratches when I get home.) Second, it is manual, and I haven't driven a manual transmission for over ten years. Now, I have to wave to people and look cool? :cool2: :rotfl2:

I love the Minnie bag! It is classic Disney and that makes it even more special!

I love the Minnie bag. I honestly don't know which one of your bags is my favorite.

Oh and the Donald Duck blue Jeep is what we own although we have a black top. Maybe I will suggest to DH he get a yellow top since he needs a new soft top.

I've really been enjoying your trip report and can't wait to see the rest! Your daughters are the same age as my sister and I, so it's been really interesting to see a trip report about kids like us popcorn::

I also absolutely adore your bags! They are just too cute! Do you sell them anywhere? I'd totally be interested in purchasing one for my next Disney trip.

All I can say is "WOW"!!! Now to make sure my 3 year old DD never see's this because she will want it!! Minnie is her 2nd favorite character (Belle holds the number 1 spot).

Love the new bag. I cant wait until Mine in November!!:woohoo:

I also can't wait until the end of Oct/beginning of November for mine!! I can't wait to see how it turns out!!

I am pretty excited about it. I am just not sure where she found the reciprocal information, so I need to find out if it's actually free or not. :confused3

I am supposed to be in bed; however, I hope this helps:

Reciprocal Museums

We used to be members; however, for the past few years, we haven't been able to afford it. That was incredibly kind of you to help your friend this year, I am certain you will make WONDERFUL memories together and that is JUST what she needed! :grouphug:

I am in LOVE with your Minnie bag; however, really can't wait to see your launch bag if it is what I think it is!! I used to want Lisa B's Rosetta, but think yours looks more practical the more I see them! (You have to dig for EVERYTHING in the rosetta). AND YOURS are so Disney Stylish!

WOW!!! YOu all were chatty yesterday...

Hi D~

I am finally caught up with your TR. Yes I read the whole thing in about 2-3 days. I will say that I used your handy dandy links for your posts but now that I'm all caught up I'll read everything.

The pictures are awesome! I love the past and present pictures too.

Hope Allison feels better soon. Did you ever find out what was wrong?

Laura

Thanks for reading along Laura! :) We kind of did find out what was wrong, but no worries, it will pretty much be a topic of discussion through out the remainder of my TR.

Ahhh, I love it! I was gonna use that Minnie print on the little kindle bag I made (to match my UPB) but my daughter talked me into using the dot fabric. I still need to make something with it, but have no idea what

ROFL - Thanks for posting these. I copy and pasted them into a Word Doc. for Josh to read. I asked him if he read them last night, and he said he did. popcorn::

Once again you have mad a great bag

Thanks Lillian!

that is soo cute. I better not let DD see she loves minnie I am so envious of your applique skills, they just floor me every time!

Thanks! I like appliqueing - but my skills have definately been a work in progress... I still see all my flaws. A lot of it comes from Mr. Rocket (we'll blame the flaws on him) - and whether he wants to cooperate or not on any given day. :wizard:

I got behind, but now all caught up!

Love all the Photopass pics! How great to have a CM for your own personal photo shoot!

And poor A being sick. No fun ever, but especially at WDW!

And your newest bag... LOVE it!!! It's great!

Just saw your posts about the Jeep...

My DH has a bright blue Jeep - I've always thought "Smurf" but Donald Duck is right on. Maybe you should come on up and work your magic on his beloved Jeep!

Oh, and the whole thing about the "Jeep Wave"... it's true. DH waves all the time at other Wranglers and the other drivers always wave back. When I take the Jeep, I'm usually reminded to "wave". He got his Jeep a year ago after having an old one... it's awesome! I love driving it with the top down!

If your DH is ever wanting to take it off-road, there's a great Off Highway Vehicle Park up in Gilbert, MN (near Virginia). It's got trails of all different abilities and it's located where there used to be an old iron ore mine. There's hills, big rocks, and trails all over. There's some trails you can run with just stock tires. Others, you need big tires and winches and to be a bit crazy to drive! Fun place!

Thanks for the Jeep tips! :) And I'll have to tell him about the place in Gilbert, DH isn't much of an off-road type guy... but you never know. LOL

I threatened him yesterday at lunch that I might just go out and get myself a blue jeep... He glared at me and growled "you better have your Edge right behind it" - ROFL... he was worried that I'd trade in my Edge. LOL I assured him that the Edge was safe. I stll want a blue Jeep though. :rolleyes1

well you hard work has paid off yet again the bag!

Thanks Lisa!

Minnie is mucho fabuloso -- or would that be mucha fabulosa? Well, no matter, Minnie is not Hispanic (to my knowledge). I thought I got good at hand appliqueing but you are mucho mucho mucho perfecto -- I know how hard it is to do small details -- I can only make big appliques look that good. You are the QUEEN!
'

Thanks Andrea... Yes - I will have to agree, I prefer doing the big appliques - they are so much easier, even though they do take more time. But it seems that my smaller appliques are getting better, but they are still hard to do. Just wait until you see my Launch wallet - that was a toughie!

glad LTT was a plus, it's on our list

love the Minnie bag!

Yes, you must try out LTT... It's managed to make it on to our must do list for every trip - same with CP breakfast.

Every time I see one of your bags it becomes my favorite. But I always have a special place in my heart for Minnie. She is beautiful!

Nini

Thank you Nini.

Thank you Cheryl. How have you been feeling? I haven't been over to the Disbou thread in at least a week. I hope you are doing better - I've been thinking of you and praying for a super speedy recovery.

I am so far behind from playing at SWW. Great Minnie bag!! Love it!

Loved that pic you texted me the other night - I has to be one of my all time fav DD pics!!! Thanks for the Minnie bag compliments!

Love the Minnie bag!!

ROFL... DH yelled at me the first night he was driving the Jeep home... "Don't ever call me while I am driving... LOL I can't drive, shift and talk at the same time" :confused3 Oops - I didn't think of that. LOL

Thanks for the compliments on the Minnie bag. :thumbsup2

Another beautiful bag. It's a perfect representation of Minnie.

Thanks!!!

I responded to your ticker the other day... I am on MFP too... same name as here, if you want to friend me. :wizard:

Thanks for the link Judy! LOL about the UPB... I agree - I do lose stuff in my Rosetta all the time, but I love carrying it! I always get a lot of compliments on it when I do carry it. :wizard:

OK - boring day in the life of D~ today... Work... That's all.

I am kind of excited though... I did draw up plans for a new bag the other day... And I am super excited - I have the name picked out for it too... It will be a while before I can show you all a prototype though (at least the end of summer)... but it will be a small bag, just big enough to carry your essentials... therefore it will be called the "Essential Park Bag" or EPB. :woohoo: Now I just need to come up with a name for the backpack (which, Suzi - I'll be starting the prototype on that in just a couple of weeks :woohoo: )

So, give me your opinions on when I should release the photos of my Launch bag (additional details at the top of this post)... Anything before Friday is out of the question though. :rolleyes1

Have a great day everyone!

The Minnie Bag is awesome!

As for the launch bag, I say the sooner your debute it, the more people will get to see it and want to bid!

Loving the trip report! Can't wait to see the launch bag:cheer2: How would we go about bidding on it?
Monica

Friday, Friday, Friday, Friday!!!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

we NEED TO SEE IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW!!! YOu all were chatty yesterday...

So, before I answer any of your posts... I have a question of my own:

I would like to release pictures of my Launch bag here first. The Launch starts on Monday night. I was thinking I would release them on Friday, and Josh thinks I should wait until Sunday. The problem with that, is that I would like to release them on my FB fan page too - and I was thinking I would do that on Sunday. So, what day would you like to see me release them?

I vote for yesterday. :rolleyes1 (Seriously, the sooner, the better!!)
