Sew much to do, sew little time - but it was worth it! New PTR link posted! ~~~~~~~~~

yay, happy you got back!

the dress is very pretty, maybe she'll let you borrow it!

happy you are coming no matter what!!! can't wait to meet everyone too!

found out a couple days ago the babynala lives in the same town as my other DIS friend we are visiting in GA, so get to meet up with them again too!

That is awesome Lisa! I hope you can meet up with Nini while you are there, as well. I wish Nini could come to our Dismeet...

Love both dresses!

We're doing TH too, and we have an 11 am so maybe we'll get a little breakfast and a little lunch. Dan would be happy to eat a late breakfast because he's quite convinced that he will like nothing on the lunch buffet. I will not be showing him your review. ;)

I am just very thankful that we had the breakfast option while we were there, or I would have been upset. I did look at the menu before we left, and it did look pretty good - I was quite excited about it. But once I tried everything - I was so disappointed. Oh well, we don't have to worry about trying to get to TH for lunch again. :thumbsup2

The juice is called Monkey juice. Love that stuff

Thanks Chiara... I knew it was the name of an animal - but the girls and I couldn't remember it, and it's not listed on The Dis menus or Allears menus.

Love Ali's dress and her friend's!!

You must like Tusker House! We haven't eat there since they changed it to QS.

Thanks... Well, we've never eaten there until this trip. We enjoyed the breakfast meal and didn't like lunch at all. I am not sure if we will attempt to eat here on our next trip - we will probably try to opt for something new. We just really wanted to try both meals once.

Alli looks so pretty in her dress. Great choice. ;)

I love the juice at Tusker House too. I would totally have been asking for huge glasses of it too.

Thanks! Yah - that Juice is awesome... We actually found a juice that's very similar tasting here at home... It's Welch's Essentials White Grape Peach Mango flavor - it's very similar... Not exact, but close.

OMG!! I love Ali's dress!! It's absolutely gorgeous!!! She looks great in it!!!

Don't you just hate the coupons that exclude everything that you want. At least it sounds like she got to at least get a few things that she wanted.

Love your new update on Tusker House! Can't wait to see what you guys do that afternoon.

Thanks! I do hate those coupons... If it says 30% off your entire purchase - it should be off of your entire purchase. When I managed a Gymboree store, when we had a coupon like that - it was off of EVERYTHING... Sale items, clearance items, promos... And trust me, people spent more. Oh well... :confused3

Well, we had a nice evening last night. It has been so HOT here.

We found out from one of our new neighbors that we had someone prowling around our yard (and theirs) on Friday night. This makes me so uneasy, because someone with a very questionable background and friends has just moved into a house on the other side of our block (kitty corner in the back yard - it's actually the house with the old barn/turned garage that I showed you all the other day)... There is talk of a lot of drugs and bad people associated with them - theft convictions and the like. So, to get news of someone prowling around in our yard leaves me very uneasy. I did not sleep well at all last night. Fortunately, we have good neighbors - and we all look out for eachother. Unfortunately - our house has just become Fort Knox.

Since we are on the cusp of summer break - this leaves me even more uneasy. I might be home a bit more often this summer. At least the first part of it.

Otherwise, Josh and I grilled last night... We had nice steaks on the grill, and I made some Rosemary red potatoes - it was very good.

I plan to get up to my sewing room this morning and work on my applique for a little while.

I might even sneak in an update later today. :thumbsup2

ooohhhh...updates....:banana::banana:

Does MM tell you when strangers are arriving? My dogs know the sounds of the cars that belong to our house and will give us warning barks if some one approaches the house. And their barks are pretty intimidating...of course one would run and hide from them...the other is hit or miss as to if he would eat them or lick them! LOL! But I know how you feel. I had next door neighbors like that at one point in time.

Lynn

I'd be a bit freaked out too with the prowling around ....nice your neighbors have your back!
you could always add and motion detecting outside lights around your house...that would probably scare them off!

Quick drive by. Because 1-the Dis is running slowly, or 2- my internet connection is strange, or 3- my computer is acting strange. (or a combination of all three!) I have lost my quotes three times and have given up!

Lisa...we are East of Atlanta...about 30 miles or so. (I guess it depends on where you place the city limits! about 30 miles outside the perimeter)

D~ I wish I could go to NCarolina for the Dismeet...but since it is my 35th anniversary...I doubt I could convince my husband. (Although I ALMOST had him convinced to go to Disney for our anniversary...but the fact that we will be going back a few weeks after for 10 days made a bit of an issue with him!)

Our Mr Max sounds extremely ferocious lately! This morning he did not realize husband came home (he is working nights ... yuck!) and heard something he didn't like. I opened the back door and he came running full speed in the house with a terrible growling sound. As soon as he realized it was Dad, he tried to stop but managed to slide into him (like he was sliding into first base) and almost knocked Dad to the ground! I have decided I don't want to be on the receiving end of him getting mad! He is only 70 pounds, but he can take out a 300 pound man if he wants to!

{I think this is the longest I have ever taken to type in a response. Sorry for any typos...but my computer is so slow....}

Nini...we will have to plan something to meet up somewhere, you are to close not too! maybe something with Liz (babynala) would be fun! I'll have a rental car so able to meet up where ever!!!

nice to know your Mr.Max is a great watch dog :goodvibes

I finally made it to the end! your sewing has me in complete awe...just amazing!

The prowler had probably seen Allison in her dress and was scoping her out. Seriously, if there are drugs involved be careful -- they will steal anything. Are there teenagers involved? While we were in RI in our neighborhood in VB there were numerous car thefts. They would take whatever you left in your car -- ipods, laptops, change, etc. They were believed to be two teens -- one who lived in our house that we rented while we were gone and one that thankfully no longer lives in the neighborhood though his parents still do so I'm still ultra careful. We always park both our cars in the garage though.

Now if it's a whole family doing drugs you are probably safe -- the family in our neighborhood with the meth lab never bothered anyone.

I just hope MM lives up to the "mighty" portion. My dogs will bark a wee bit, but if we ever got broken into the only chance of harm's way to a prowler would be being licked to death or swatted a few times with wagging tails.

Stay safe and be on the look out. It's good you are home a lot and good you have an odd work schedule.

My dogs wag their tails and welcome strangers. They would likely show a burglar where the treat jar is.

Actually - no he doesn't. :worried: Rufus was one mean poochie - we would sometimes sneak into the house to make him mad - LOL... But, MM, not so much. I am not sure if he will become like that later - when he is a little less of a puppy... I have heard that Goldens will often lead theives to the loot, because they are so friendly. :scared:

That is an excellent idea about the lights... I will talk to Josh about that one.

I am so sad that you cannot make it Nini... I think our next meet should be in GA. :thumbsup2

LOL about your Max... I wish mine had some of the same tendancies...

YAY!!! Glad you made it to the end - I totally admire you for making it! I wish I had a medal or something to give out. :mic: THank you so much for taking the time to read my TR (did you read my PTR too?). So, do you think your going to try sewing now???? :beach:

Well, as far as we know, it is not the whole family. There is a mom with 2 kids (elementary and preschool age) who's family is well known in the area (in a good way) - her family has lived here forever, and they are one of the first pioneers of our area. However, her boyfriend (and the people he surrounds himself with) are very sleezy, and the ones involved in drugs (domestic abuse and theft)... It's just not a good situation. In our favor, however, all of us that live on the back side of them know exactly what they are capeable of, and really are watching carefully. Seriously - they only moved in last Friday. For the most part - each of our houses has one spouse that doesn't work (or in my case, I work odd days) - and we all know who should be in our yards and who shouldn't. Since we are all on high alert, I don't think they'd try anything where they live. :confused3 I hope.

And MM is no help yet - he's too young to realize his territory... and Goldens are rumored to love everyone - so I am not sure that he will ever be that protective??? :confused3

I have to work today... So, I hope you all have a wonderful day.

The girls swam (aka: tanned) for a couple of hours.

At 5pm we hopped a bus back to AK... As we were going in, droves of people were leaving - we thought that was a good sign.

We had 2 goals tonight: Ride KRR and eat another Jalepeno Pretzel.

Since the jalepeno pretzel was on the way to KRR - we stopped and had one.

IMG_4239.jpg

And our favorite place to eat them - right across the path, there's a small path that goes behind a few of the stands - where you can still see the main path and people watch... so that's what we did.

IMG_4240.jpg

On our way back to KRR - I snapped a few scenic photos:

IMG_4243.jpg

When we got back to KRR... The fast passes were gone, and the stand-by line was 120 minutes (OUCH!)... We decided to walk through the Maharajah Jungle Trek. We had done this on our 2003 trip, but not since then. It was actually on the girls' list of things they wanted to do again. So, we took our time, hoping the line at KRR would die down a bit. And, of course, I took a lot of photos.

Allison still wasn't feeling well, her stomach was bothering her. Despite the fact that she wasn't feeling the greatest, she still put on a good face for the camera.

IMG_4273.jpg

Ever since our trip to The Netherlands - the girls are fascinated by old bikes - so every time they see one, they have to hop on... Even if they are bolted to a wall... LOL

IMG_4275.jpg

IMG_4277.jpg

We loved these flags - and only took about a bajillion pictures of them...

IMG_4278.jpg

IMG_4280.jpg

IMG_4283.jpg

This bird was huge, and beautiful - it was a Golden Pheasant. It got really close to us - and then the girl next to us got excited and scared it off.

IMG_4298.jpg

After about an hour, we were finished with the MJT, and decided to go check on KRR again. The wait was still 70 minutes, but we decided to brave it, after all, this was the last ride we wanted to accomplish at AK, and our last chance to do it.

Into the stand-by line we went... And waited... And took pictures...

IMG_4305.jpg

IMG_4307.jpg

I just loved this area of the que...

IMG_4308.jpg

IMG_4309.jpg

IMG_4310.jpg

According to the time stamps on my camera - the first picture I took in the que was at 6:55pm... And this next picture was taken just after we exited the ride - time stamped at 7:44pm. So, the que was just a hair under an hour.

We got to ride with a family who had a little girl in a wheelchair, she was so excited to ride this ride... And lucky for her - we got wet and she didn't - which she was absolutely delighted about. LOL

IMG_4311.jpg

Someone offered to take a picture of the 3 of us.

IMG_4312.jpg

We decided, since we were quite wet and chilly, so make our way to the front of the park... Stopping for every Photopass photographer we could. I also took a lot of night time park photos - because I just love the ambiance of Disney's lighting - it makes everything beautiful.

IMG_4315.jpg

We walked out of AK just at park closing.

Looks like a fun day! I love that last photo. It really looks like a house... I had to go back and make sure I was still reading about AK.

Here is my new toy. My mom got it new, I'm guessing around 1967. It does have some wear and tear, but it sews great!

P1020663.jpg

And here is some fabric one of my co-workers gave me today!! Over two yards of it.

P1020666.jpg

it's not one I've ever seen before, and I've been looking ;) She said she got it at Joanne's a few years ago. Now I have to think of something good to make with it! Those mickey outlines look red in the picture, but they're actually orange.

Oooh! Pretty machine! And I'm totally jealous of blue fabric with orange Mickey heads . . . those colors are worth their weight in gold in our house :)

This is what it looked like when we purchased it in 2006 (UGLY):

And FYI... We put a new roof on before we moved in.
House.jpg

And then in 2008 after Josh replaced each window and added the bay window... Rebuilt the front wall... put on new siding... new door... added the front porch... (awwww... tear.... there's Rufus helping)

IF you are bored, and want to see the entire album (and see me yelling at the idiots that did some pretty stupid mistakes in the past)... Feel free to follow this link to the whole album of our remodeling:

https://picasaweb.google.com/geurts...authkey=Gv1sRgCPbL8dSG4JjImgE&feat=directlink

Love the remodel! I'll have to look at the album later though.

Don't ask about my re-modeling projects I generally nag my dad until he hires someone to come in to do what I want.

Did I mention my dad is a contractor but hates doing anything with houses LOL:rotfl2:

Sounds like my contractor father. ::yes::

Totally coming to NC - even if I have to drive - I will be there. I've been looking forward to this trip since we got back from Disney - and I am definately going to be there. I am super excited to meet all my bestest friends from The Dis - now, hopefully they all can make it. :)

D~

:cool1: We'll get you here somehow!

And MM is no help yet - he's too young to realize his territory... and Goldens are rumored to love everyone - so I am not sure that he will ever be that protective??? :confused3

I have to work today... So, I hope you all have a wonderful day.

D~

My cousin has a golden. . .and she was a lot like MM when she was a baby. . . she is a great guard dog now though. . . she totally watches their house and barks like a crazy person, leaping and jumping on people she wasn't expecting to see.

And, :wave2: , aren't you impressed? I'm caught up again!

Tuesday, March 13th

Sadly... I only had one photo from this day that qualified as a Now n' Then. :crazy2:

But it is a pretty good one...

No worries though... Our next day coming up has a bunch. :thumbsup2

you took some GREAT photos D~ love how you filled the frame with the flags!
haven't been on KRR since 2008 and I ALWAYS GET SOAKED, not wet, SOAKED...water coming up and over my head SOAKED, when we go down the hill I'm the one who is backwards, so its got to be pretty warm for me to try to ride it :rotfl:

Working my way through your PTR (all 200+ pages) now :)

I actually just started sewing about a week ago..and then into the Disbou thread..then to your TR
I have made a grand total of 2 dresses..both in the other thread. But because of you i now NEED to learn to applique :rotfl:

Ally looks gorgeous~ that dress is beautiful!! princess:

Love the decals on your car! DH put mine on last week. :thumbsup2

Oh the wonderful jalepeno pretzels...how I wish there was somewhere in the real world that you could get some of that deliciousness! 18 months is just TOO long to wait for that goodness again!!!

Can you believe we have never done KRR or Splash Mountain? :scared1: Yep, since we have always gone in March when the weather is cooler, we have never wanted to go on wet rides. Maybe it will be warmer in Oct when we go, and we can finally try them... ::yes::

You got some great shots that day! Kali was closed in Feb, so I can't wait to try it out in the hot July weather :)

Yikes! That "prowler" would really freak me out since I am home alone at night with Bill working. Good thing you have other great neighbors that will be watching things.

I plan to spend much more time at AK this time around. It was our first park on the first day and we just were overwhelmed. I plan to take it easy this trip and see everything :) And of course I have to have a jalapeno pretzel too now thanks to you :p

I normally just read and don't post, but I wanted to tell you how much I'm enjoying your trip report and - OK, full disclosure  - your gorgeous creations (and while your daughters are beautiful, I mean your sewing!) hahaha

I read that you thought perhaps your daughter was too old for the Goofy dress and I completely disagree! It looks precious :lovestruc on her and maybe I'm weird, but age appropriate in a sweet way. Heck, I'm 49 and I would seriously consider wearing something like it, with my favorite character, myself! :rotfl: Not in everyday life but absolutely at WDW.

You are so talented - simply amazing! :goodvibes

I'm still here ... sorta. :lmao: I haven't been on any websites in roughly a week! Seriously? The emoticons have changed AGAIN? Sigh.

Anyway, A looked fabulous in her dress!!!

DD10 looked over my shoulder as I was scanning through your TR and she said, "Wow, they're so lucky that they're STILL at WDW!" Too cute, she thinks you haven't made it home yet. :lmao:
