Several questions

1. We are staying at SSR this December and have always stayed in the Grandstand, we are wanting to change it up this year. Where should we request? Or should we just not request anything and be surprised?

2. We are splitting our stay between SSR and BCV. Where should we request at BCV?

3. Can we split up the Dining Plan? (just do qsdp for SSR and no DDP for BCV)

1. Try Congress Park. Ask for the coveted DTD view!
2. Can't help with that one.
3. Yes. Each part of the stay is considered a separate stay.

BCV owner here - ask for a higher floor. Easier to see parts of Illuminations.

On my next trip, I'm also splitting my stay. I think you can split the DDP by reservation from what I've been reading on other posts. I do know that when I called for dining ressies at the 6 month mark, they treated my two ressies differently and wouldn't let me book the later dates until right at the 6 month mark. I had to call back!

I have stayed in all sections of SSR except Carousel. My favorite is Paddock but since they are doing the pool redo there right now, I'd probably go with Congress Park.

BCV is small and does not have great views. I only ever request something other than bottom floor (I prefer a balcony to a patio) because I don't think any of the views are good enough to request one. You have pool/parking lot view, courtyard view or woods view (some of woods view can give you part of Illuminations view).

Yes, you can do separate dining plans.

I would request a higher floor as well. See if they have a wood view if you want to see the fireworks form your balcony, or a pool view if you have kids you want to watch from your balcony. Either way, sounds like a great trip and you can split the DDP, which sounds like a good idea
