Disney has basically done away with any restrictions but in place for health safety post Covid so WHY can’t platinum board with concierge again? Why no reception still on 8+ nights?

This will be my first platinum cruise and happens to be on an 8 night. I was looking forward to BOTH those perks but apparently still “suspended”! No good reason either!

Pack people in the tube for a show but a cc reception is still a health risk? Give me a break!

I suspect their suspension will become permanent but time will tell.... I imagine as the years have gone on the number of platinums boarding has gotten out of hand. Maybe they'll bring both back as a Pearl benefits? Or they may just quietly remove them.

The receptions have been held on multiple cruises since the restart, despite what the website says.

Even though I have not been on a Disney cruise yet, I still believe that you should be to check-in online based on your Castaway Club level. There are so few benefits for Castaway Club members compared to other cruise lines. Also, by doing it by level maybe there won’t be issues at midnight checking in that I have heard about.

Oh that’s really good to hear! It was such a great opportunity for littles to get a Mickey picture without long lines and I saw sad to see it go away for 7 night cruises

I think you may have nailed it. Disney has sooooo many more repeat cruisers not sure the perks are doing them any good. I think I read here that on the inaugural sailing of the Wish there were people who had done 100 Disney cruises. There are "professional" cruisers who make their living vlogging or blogging about cruising who haven't been on 100 cruises on multiple lines!

The thing is, they could easily add a character event just for platinums on the longer cruises. Have X amount of spots on each day and you have to book online like the royal gathering. Rather than just have one character m&g with tons of platinums there.

I ve had cc reveptions on all 3 of my longer cruises last tear. One was an actual reception and two were nackstage magic presentations in the theatre

We went to the CC reception on the 8 night in October. It was in the theater and it was a behind the scenes of the frozen show. We got a rice crispy treat and a free drink.

We are on the 8 night in two weeks. Doubt I will waste an hour to attend the reception again.

Nothing on this past week fantasy 7 day western for cc. DVC reception one day but nothing for me as platinum
They changed the reception so that it's only available on cruises 8 nights or longer. That happened a while before the Covid-19 shutdown.

Seems like the 8 nighter in 2 weeks will be filled with platinum cruisers

Good to know the reception is back, even if the website says no! I'll watch out for the one in two weeks to show up on the navigator; I'd given up hope. :)

You will get an invitation in your stateroom!

I definitely wouldn't call it a "reception" but there were free drinks and a rice krispy treat for all in the theatre. However, we preferred it to a "reception" as the behind the scenes of Aladdin was a highlight of our trip on the 9 night Southern last year.

I agree that the boarding whenever should definitely come back. What do they have to lose with that one? Confusing.

Maybe only certain ships brought it back. I was on the Magic and got to attend last year. Anyone got information about a cruise from a 2022 or 2023 8+ night Dream/Fantasy/Wonder person. I don’t think the Wish has done a 8 night have they? The Dream might not have done ann 8 night either.

The Wish and the Dream have not sailed any 8-night+ itineraries, yet.

The Wonder had receptions for the Hawaiian cruises, at least.

I've been on a Panama Canal and a transatlantic post covid, and both had receptions, although they were held in the Walt Disney theater.
