HAMILTON (AM900 CHML) - A chlorine leak has resulted in an evacuation of Wild Waterworks in Hamilton.
Officials say there was about a 4 minute power failure at the facility this morning shortly after 11.
When the power kicked back in, people in the pool reported seeing a large bubble come out of the water, and a strong smell of chlorine.
Seventeen people have been taken to hospital as a precautionary measure with various respiratory issues, such as coughing and vomiting.
There between 150 and 200 people in the wave pool at the time of the incident.
The park will stay closed for the rest of the day while crews investigate what led to the problem.
I feel lawsuits coming on.
Police wouldnt let anyone in, so we went home.
Isnt chlorine gas, HIGHLY POISONOUS?
