Flip the TV on early this morning to find that the Russian F1 Grand Prix is about to start. I wake Jack and we laze in bed watching it. Paulet wakes, showers and then goes up to the Artist Palette to get some breakfast to bring back to the room. She gets a breakfast platter for me and Jack and a Western Omelette for herself.
When it finishes we hop into the car for the short drive to Hollywood Studios.
Our first FP is for Tower of Terror. We've always chickened out of this! Not my usual type of ride I enjoy..but DD came last May and her bf went on and declared it quite lame! so we have to try and be brave
The queue is very short in the FP line and I barely have a chance to enjoy the theme inside the hotel, I love it though, very clever..
And on we get......
We absolutely LOVE it. The atmosphere, the film elements, and the random drops! Terrific!!!!!!
We sussed out the camera timing too. You also get a video as part of the Memory maker package - no idea if I can put it on here, or how! (Ideas anyone??) but it's brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!
Next on our FP list is Toy Story Midway Mania. The queue here is the predictable unbelievable length. Why would you queue that long for anything ?
We enjoy the short queue, feeling smug as we pass by the non FP people!
Took me a while to work that one out!!!!
Well the ride is fun, I score 173.000, no idea if thats any good. I forgot until two thirds of the way round that it was 3d, I had my 3D glasses on my head and yes i know it looks blurred but that's how it would look without my normal glasses on, silly old fool !!!!
It's a good ride, great fun but no way would I do that standby queue.
As we exit we notice that the Legend Of Cpt Jack Sparrow is only a 10 minute wait so join the queue. it's ok, nothing to write home about! - It's one of the attractions at HS that will be closing so we had to try it before it went.
The lure of Starring Rolls Cafe is quite strong by now so it's time to sample some cupcakes!
We have an Elsa, Olaf, and Red Velvet. Yum!
In order to let that little feast digest we stroll over to Muppets 3D
then over to Indiana Jones and walk straight in as the show is about to start. We've seen it so many times but it still amuses..
Then over to Lights Motors, another attraction that is due to close apparently. Again we are lucky and walk in just 5 minutes before the start. Great show again - just gotta love the smell of burning rubber!
We have an hour or so until our Fantasmic package ADR. When sneak a look into the 50's prime time cafe as we thought about making an ADR there but never managed to squeeze it in. We see the attached bar area which we didn't even know existed and decide to have a quick drink. We eventually get stools by the bar and have a beer and G&T for Paulet. Nice area.
We still have half an hour to kill and the great movie ride has a short queue. We join the back, but after 10 minutes we realise we won't make it through in time we duck out and head across to Mama Melrose.
We are seated within 5 minutes of our time and the server is with us very quickly to take our orders.
We all have Calamari for starters, Jack has a Pepperoni Pizza and Paulet and I have the sirloin steak. We all have the special trio dessert.
The meal was pretty good, we were a little worried as it wasn't fantastic last time we ate here, but today, no complaints.
We take our time with dinner and then have a look around some shops.
Paulet really wants me to buy this wookie backpack but I resist!
Then we walk over to fantasmic.
We get in with no queuing about 20 minutes before the start and the dining package reserved area is about 2/3 full so we end up with terrific seats in the middle
This year I've decided not to try and film or photograph the fireworks as I always spend too much time looking through the view finder rather than enjoying the show.
Just love Fantasmic!
After the show we are herded like sheep to the exit, never a pleasant experience. We then jump on a tram to the car. The loaders are shouting no more than 5 per row so there is us three, and then a ridiculous family try to get in too, 2 adults, 2 kids, 2 strollers and about 15 bags of shopping! Aaaaaargh
We get back to the car and drive back to SSR. We grab hot chocolates and head to bed.
Dining plan - Day 9
3 QS credits at Artist Palette ($37.98)
3 snacks at Starring Rolls ($16.58)
3 TS credits at Mama Melrose ($121.38)
When it finishes we hop into the car for the short drive to Hollywood Studios.
