Day 5 continued...

After Men in Black, we head up to London and I have a chat to the Knight Bus conductor - good fun, him with his American fake London accent and me with the genuine! The driver/head chips in with some comments too!

Universal have really outdone themselves with this. They are gonna earn shed loads of money for years and years with their Harry Potter Experiences! Paulet poses by Leicester Square station. Ironic really! 4500 miles to pose by something I see almost daily :rotfl2:

Attention to detail is first class.

We head on through the broken wall to Diagon Alley. What a contrast! Most of Universal Studios is half empty, in here...well...it's absolutely heaving! We are all gobsmacked at the detail in here - its massively impressive.

It takes ages to get this pic as there are just so many people criss-crossing our path.

Picture overload now - sorry!

Jack and I experience a butterbeer from 'The Hopping Pot' ($3.99 each)
Not really sure what to make of them, they're quite thick and rich and sweet, almost sickly!

We give the Gringots Bank Ride a wide berth due to the huge queues (120mins+) - we can get this with early entry on either of the next two mornings.
We browse a few more shops and instead of the usual hats we try on some Hogwarts School robes!

Not really sure what look Jack and I were going for here! Some sort of cross between Harry Potter, Men in Black and monks :rotfl2:

Leaving the chaos of Diagon Alley behind we continue on around the Studios and stop into 'Disaster' There's a 15 minute wait for the next show. I like the way they have updated the pre show bits but after riding the earthquake train it's obvious that there is a bit of a disconnect now, as before the pre-shows made lots of mentions of earthquakes and effects used in earthquake scenes. It all seems a bit disjointed but it's still a cool ride

Next up is 'The Mummy' After messing around with lockers again we walk straight on with our Express passes although I doubt there is more than a 15 minute queue normally. Wow! I'd forgotten how much I loved this ride, the themeing and dramatic switch from slow scenic to fast coaster combines to make my favourite ride in Universal.

Strolling out of the park we catch up with the parade

I'm not sure why they do this parade, I think its very lame and not a patch on Disney's.

We walk round to the Hard Rock Cafe and have no problems in getting a table straight away.

Our server is fab, he is a typical older rocker! exactly what you'd picture working in the Hard Rock! Pony tail and tattoos!

Dinner is gorgeous - I had read some scathing reports of the Cafe but we cannot fault it!

Paulet has the Fajitas, Jack the BBQ pulled pork sandwich and i have the Hickory Burger.

Washed down with Budweiser and Stella it all tastes fantastic. Chocolate shake, Oreo Chessecake and a salted caramel latte for desserts and we are all stuffed!

The bill for dinner comes to $91.15 after using my AA card for a 10% discount. We leave a generous tip and slowly waddle out!

A quick wander around City walk and then its back to the Blue Man Group for the 8.00 show.

We've never seen this before and were unsure whether we'd like it but Jack was insistent we get tickets. I'm so glad we did. It's a fabulous, fantastic, hilarious and clever show. Words cannot do it justice - go see it!

We walk back to the room shattered and are very quickly fast asleep.
