I think it will be about Dec of this year before the 2010 is announced.
We will miss our every other year cruise next year. Just didn't like the places the ships go to. Been there, done that. We really wanted the MED again.

We went to WDW in last month for a week. Sure wish our airfare was $36....we thought we were lucky with almost $400 each x 3...
We had a great time and Janet and Kenny from our Med cruise also came down (they can drive) and stayed the week too. We had so much fun. We also surprised our DD with a trip to Tampa Bay to see the Bucs in the wildcard game. They lost. but she was so surprised. We told her right when we were taking the turn off to go to the stadium. She thought we were going to church in Tarpon Springs!. Yes I had a change of clothes for her...

We go to Ko 'Olina in June for DD high school grad gift. We own a Marriott's timeshare there and will be able to check out where the Disney timeshare will be. Love the area and can't wait to be there.....

We love our Disney vacation club too. Never-ever have we let a point go unused.....

Will also be in Disneyland area in June....we can drive there Going to a wedding end of June (29th) and maybe going on the church youth group trip to Disneyland on 16th...will know more about the 16th as time gets closer.

Was the 7 day Eastern cruise that you took in December on the Magic? How was the weather / temps for that time of year? We were thinking on our planned cruise in Oct 2009 to request our same cabin as we had in the Med. With DVC, our girls like to think they have a home in WDW. If we end up cruising more on the Magic in the same cabin, they will think they have a home onboard the ship too.

I can't wait for the new ships to enter the fleet. It should really broaden their cruise destinations. It looks like the Magic will be back in the Caribbean during Summer 2009 instead of Europe or the West Coast. What month do they announce the "next year's" destinations?

Yes, the 7 day Eastern was on the Magic. The weather couldn't have been nicer. Even at WDW, we were in shorts/t-shirts the entire time. They had a heat wave and one night I wore capris to MVMCP and was hot. The year before we had gone in December too and it was a good 10 degrees cooler and we had to wear pants the whole time with windbreakers at night. In Key West it was in the 80's and so was Cozumel and Grand Cayman. It was very comfortable. Not too hot to sweat constantly, but not cool. Even Castaway Cay was great after it stopped raining about 10AM. They were giving out ponchos during the drizzle and we decided to make the most of it and head to the beach. It stopped as we were walking to the family beach and the rest of the day was gorgeous. I saw more than one scary looking sunburn. The water felt much warmer than when we were there the same week in 2006. We were going to do the 15 day Easbound repo but when we added up the costs of the trip plus airfare, etc. it was more than our Med cruise and we decided to do two 4 day cruises and 10 days in the parks instead. We were upgraded from a category 6 to a 4 on the Eastern in Dec 2007 which was nice but our room was really showing a lot of wear. I think they should have really refurbished it a bit before going to CA. We really can't wait to see the new ships and new itinerary. We hope to be back in the Med in a few years.Our boys are still talking about how much fun they had and their teachers have even commented how they have brought up Rome and Pompeii in social studies and science class. Nothing like on hands experience!

When we were on the ship in December (1-8) they announced 2009's itinerary.

Hi MJ,

I never got this update in my email--

With everything going on with Keegan, we are taking one day at a time with everything we have booked. We still have the repo booked, but we also have 2 four days booked we will probably go on instead. We need to wait until his chest CT this Tuesday to see if he's going to need surgery. They did call from Hopkins yesterday to say that he has to see surgeons Wednesday so I'm guessing they aren't too optimistic that the mass will be gone.

By December all should be well and we'd love to meet up again for dinner.

missing the MED Cruise and all the fun we had. Tomorrow is 7-7 and we sure wish it was last year!
Can't wait for another trip like that.....
went to Disneyland this past Easter....and last month we went to Ko'Olina. Eleni graduated from High School!!! Nothing started at Disney yet there. Hawaii is ready for them...still talk about Disney coming. They just don't know when. We were joined in Hawaii by Janet and Kenny from the Med cruise.....we see them every year now (this year 2 times!) since we met them in 2005 on the DCL Mexico cruise...fun people....

Well we hope everyone is doing well and travels are going good.

Making plans for next year...back to Ko'Olina for sure and we think Janet and Kenny will be there too. Might make it to Orlando again.

Can't wait to see what cruises will be out there for 2010.....

So just saying HI to everyone...
Hope the rest of your summer goes well....lots of fires here in California but not near us....we just get the smoke.... it has been bad here for weeks....

We were also thinking about our Med cruise and missing it yesterday. It was a year from our flight to Barcelona. We even watched about 4 hours worth of video tapes from the trip.

I hope everyone's having a fun summer.

We'll be cruising on a 4 day DCL double dip in 48 days and then a 4 day in December. MJ, we are looking forward to catching up with you and Kirstyn for dinner at Boma again.

We'd love to get to Hawaii as soon as they finish buidling the new DVC resort there in a couple of years.

We would definitely love to go back to the Med, especially if DCL goes there again. We are hoping they do with the new ships.

We have also been reminiscing on the anniversary of our best vacation ever! Looking at pictures and helping friends get ready for their (non-DCL) Med cruise.
We were also hoping that they would do another Med itinerary, because that would be a 'for sure'. But also thinking maybe they will wait until 2011 and start the new ships over there before they come stateside???
That would be awesome!!!

Oh well, other plans are made until then - currently in Northern Wisconsin, Vail in August, 3-night DCL right before Thanksgiving, New Year's in Florida, lots of skiing over the winter, and then Maui for spring break. Thinking about a land-based Euro trip for next summer - have to see how bad the dollar gets.

I'm so glad that I got the thread update e-mail. I knew the anniversary was coming up, but today was so busy that I hadn't thought about it yet. A year ago , we were settling in for our first night onboard right now. It really was the best vacation that we ever took.

We are booked for the Magic on 10/24/2009 in the same cabin that we had in the Med. We took a 3 Night cruise on the Wonder in May to hold us over until next year. I would love to go back to the Med on the new ships as well.

We are waiting for the new ships & iternaries. I hope they go to interesting places. My friend just got back for Norway/Sweden area on a cruise and LOVED it.

I'd love to do another med cruise but with travel costs I think, I'd opt for a new location over going back to the Med.

Wow! Speaking of Northern European Capitals! Gave the itinerary to DH to check out. The Eastern planned for next summer may have to wait. But the World won't

Hi guys!

I've already emailed our TA and gave her the heads up that we would like for her to move our Dec 09 reservation (originally booked for Dec08 while on our 70707) to one of the two 12 night northern european cruises. Doing a little research on the two different ports of call to see which cruise we'd want to do and will let the TA know so she can make the changes on the 14th.

Which 12-night?

Since we have never been to Helsinki nor Tallinn I posted a poll on Cruisecritics (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=856446) to get an idea from those that have visited those ports, which port is the port to visit if you only have one choice.

So far, everyone that has replied has said that both are very nice however if it came down to just one port - Tallinn is the choice.

The dilemma is that it seems that all of you are going on the 7/6-Helsinki cruise. Is there anyway to talk you into the 7/18-Tallinn cruise (comeon denise comeon comeon - the boys would love to get together with eleni again - and Kathy, Kyle would just if he couldn't be with Kaylie!).

The good thing is that we still have 6 days to decide!

Kathy, you're right, the 7/18 date is too late and we'd have to take 2 more days off. It will be fun seeing you, Vance, and Kaylie again - as well as Denise, Jimmy, and Eleni. Hopefully we'll see John, Tina, Courtney, and Katlyn too! All the kids will so much bigger
