"Seven Seven 07" 20070707-11 Night Mediterranean Cruise

When did you submit them? Were they new or renewals? Expedited?

DH applied for a renewal and my sons and I applied for new ones on 2/22. It took DH's 2 days shy of 10 weeks. The rest of ours came 10 weeks and 3 days after submission. They all came in individual little priority mail envelopes. The boys birth certificates were in with the passports and my expired passport was in my little priority mail envelope. I tried the online passport checking link every day and they weren't even entered until a good 6 weeks and still do not even say they were sent.

WOO HOO, we went to a soccer tournament this weekend and got home to find them in the mail:yay: :yay: :yay:
we were 4 days short of 10 weeks and I was sweating bullets:scared:
Now I can officially say...SEE YOU SOON!!!

I am one of "Lost Boys" I am a 11 year old boy. I am very excited to go on the Med. Cruise!!!!!!!!! I am a brother of three and we all dance. :dance3: I also sing and act. My dream in life is to be on broadway. I am currently working in the show of TITANIC the musical. I just finished being John Darling in PETER PAN the musical and I got to fly high (really) in that show!:yay:I am hoping to make new friends on the cruise and Hopefully will!

See you soon!
Kyle( lost boy)

:wave2:

Hi Kyle,

I have a son named Keegan that just turned 10. We live in Hanover, very close to Gettysburg. A couple of my son's friends also act with the Eichelberger performing arts group and have been in the same plays! You probably know one of his good friends from his class named Owen. Owen is also working on Titanic, I think as a paper boy. Keegan is looking forward to cruising on the Magic too. Keegan plays football for the Gettysburg Midget Football Warriors. I'm sure that some of your school mates are probably on his team. Keegan has a 6 year old brother named Brennan. They'll get to meet you pretty soon!

If anyone's considering a quick trip to WDW in the next month from BWI, Southwest has some great deals. I ended up getting $39 each way including taxes to take my boys to Star Wars Weekends at MGM the 3rd week of June. I originally booked them for $139 each way and have a nice credit now to use on our trip in December.

Hello everyone. I copied and pasted the current list of castaways to post number 6. If anyone new joins please PM me your info and I'll add it there. This will make it easier for everyone to find the list for quick reference. Page 1 - post 6. This was John (Dad of lost boys) idea. I think it's a good one. We can do this with all the planned meets etc.

Great idea, Jeff! :thumbsup2 Thanks! :)

OK, I know that the DCL Cruise Contract is really all about limiting Disney's liability, but get real. Did you all read the text? (As they specifically say each individual in your party must do.) :sad2:

18. THE CARRIER DOES NOT EXPRESSLY OR IMPLIEDLY WARRANT, AND SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY WARRANTY AS TO, (a) THE FITNESS, CONDITION OR SEAWORTHINESS OF THE VESSEL AND (b) THE FITNESS, CONDITION OR MERCHANTABILITY OF ANY FOOD OR DRINK PROVIDED ON BOARD THE VESSEL. THE CARRIER SHALL NOT BE STRICTLY LIABLE IN TORT FOR ANY DEFECT, LACK OF FITNESS, IMPURITY OR CONTAMINATION OF ANY FOOD OR DRINK PROVIDED ON BOARD THE VESSEL.

So, if the ship sinks because there is a big hole in the bottom that nobody noticed, Disney can say that they never warranted the vessel to be seaworthy? :confused3:

On the other hand, if they somehow served meat that sat out on deck too long, and someone got sick, they are not responsible there either??

I realize that there is no expectation that either of these examples would happen. I just find it ironic that Disney puts clauses such as this in their cruise contract. I also realize that no matter what is put down in the contract, certain legalities will supercede it depending on the applicable jurisdiction. Are there any lawyers out there that could explain the efficacy of putting this type of clause in the contract?

Wow .. I can't believe my counter is marking in days!!!! I'm starting to get anxious (in a good way!)

Hi Meg,

None of my boys have screen names here nor on IM, but I did create a Kids Chatroom thread here on the DISBoards for you to get to know a little about each other. The link is in my signature

Wondering how everyone is getting to the ship from their hotel in Barcelona? Heard suitcases are not fitting in the taxi.

We are staying near the airport so we are taking the hotel shuttle to the airport and have Disney transfers to get us to the port. My main concern was getting from the ship to the airport for our flight out when we return. Figured Disney would be our best bet.

We're doing the same thing. I think we're at the same hotel.

We're coming in on the 7th from London (leaving Dulles at 6:55 PM on 7/6) and using Disney transfers.

Has anyone else been reading the blogs and live trip report from the first Mediterranean cruise?

Sounds like by the time our cruise comes, all the issues anyone has had should be smoothed out. Seems like they have a lot of new staff. Everything sounds like so much fun and really makes us want to be there now!

I'm going to be getting extra bonine because it sounds as if some of the excursions bus rides and the seas are a bit more rough than I expected.

We are at the Renaissance Barcelona Airport Hotel.
Since we booked thru Disney Vacation Club we were not offered transfers. Maybe something came in the mail? but I think it was only for insurance to add on. What hotel are you at Jeff? How much is the transfer? We are also staying the night after we get off the Magic at the same place because the flight was just too early...

I thought I read on someone's trip report that they had plenty of mini-van type taxis and we should be fine. I'll have to find it. I'm sure if you ask the hotel they will call for a mini-van type taxi. We are staying at the airport.

LOL... I went to target today and bought mini-toilet paper rolls, seat covers, airbourne, antibaterical wipes, and Dramamine (we went camping this weekend in the mountains the roads were windy and I felt yucky). So I'm taking Dramamine everyday.

Tina...

I can't believe how close it is getting! :cool1:

I am now officially off work for the summer, so I can go on the Boards again- I can't wait to hear reports from the first MED cruisers! :thumbsup2

See you all onboard soon!!

Hi,
We are also at the Renaissance Airport Hotel (as is Monstro and family). You should be able to add on the transfers through Disney. It was $50 per person for the round trip (airport to port, port to airport).

DD and I have 3 weeks left until our vacation starts.:cool1: DD has a show on June 30 so we'll be getting ready for that until then. Almost done with her last costume. One more fitting for a new dress.
