"Seven Seven 07" 20070707-11 Night Mediterranean Cruise

Just a heads up if anyone is interested... SPH 5020 is available on our cruise. If you have an existing cat 10 specific room (or gty) will they let you change room assignments for no extra charge? Or do they make you pay the new rate??? Just curious. I'm in one of the other SPH rooms so I will be keeping it :)

Per DVC all cat 8 rooms sold out. She said GTY reservations will be assigned rooms about 2-3 weeks before cruise. Then maybe there may be rooms. We will just stay put then.
Still have to get Euros. Did call my bank yesterday and they will waive all ATM fees because I am a good customer! :thumbsup2 Pays to owe them money on my mortgage!!! Also ordered new cc from capital one. No transaction fees for charging in Europe!!! My Citi CC was 3%. Plus I will still get airline miles with Capital One and no yearly fee either.:woohoo:
denisepirate:

We are on the June 27th 10 day and our GTY Cat 8 was converted to Cabin 5502 last week which was about six weeks out from sailing date.

I got the Capital One card for Europe also. Remember to call them just before you leave to tell them your going to be using it in Europe. Don't want them blocking usage thinking it was stolen!

Have a great trip!

MJ,

We changed our category 6 midship stateroom on deck 6 from port side to category 6 midship starboard side in December for no extra charge. I really wanted a starboard side room because I love the location midship at Port Canaveral (seeing the DCL terminal) and at Castaway Cay (seeing the family beach, etc.). I kept checking openings on travelosity and saw they had starboard rooms and waited until they went back to DCL after not selling shortly before the cruise. I had our TA immediately switch as soon as I saw them available on Disneycruise.com.

This time around we have a port side stateroom since it was the only category 6 with an 11 straight across still available. I'm sure we'll see after the first few DCL Med sailings what we'll see on either side of the ship while docked. We'll just run up to deck 9 or 10 if we want to check out the starboard side sites.

Hi MJ,

I am planning on taking my family there for dinner Friday evening and I'd loved to see it filled with DISers!

 Maybe someone (APinCA, Shercara, denise, din, monstro) who is arriving earlier in the week could call and make reservations. Please? :teeth: I agree, 20.00hrs (8:00 p.m.) would be best.

I'll be happy to keep track of those interested. Just send me a PM with the number in your party. I'll post the list.

Families so far:

MJGirl (1A, 1T)
Deb T. (4A)
DadofLostBoys (2A, 1T, 2C)
APinCA (2A, 1C)

Just as a recap. A group of us is planning on a dinner get together at Barcelona restaurant MESÓN DAVID Friday evening at 8:00. Kathy (APinCA) has offered to make reservations since they will be arriving in Barcelona on 7/5. Send me a PM if you are interested and I will add you to the list.

Just got our air information from Disney this morning. Leaving Friday at 11:31 am!!!!!! So exciting!!! Only 45 days away! Only bad thing is flying out the 3 of us don't have seats together. Delta says maybe they'll be able to fix it at the airport. only one seat is between us, so i'm hoping it will be someone nice who will swap with one of us.

we're leaving from Newark NJ on July 6th but have not gotten any flight info from Disney - maybe tonight!

I called them. They told me a couple weeks ago that it should be up today, but that it takes sometimes a few days to get all the information loaded. They e-mailed me the flight information when i was on the phone.

Just a bit of information I found. You can register with the US Gov when you travel out of the country. You can provide your itinerary, contacts, passport numbers and other information. If there is an emergency where you are traveling they will attempt to locate you. If you give permission, they will also release information to relatives and friends who inquire about you when there is an emergency.
their web site is:

I put in my trip info....counting the days till we leave.. 21 days and counting:cool1:  :rotfl: :woohoo: till we leave for Greece...OPA!!!

OK I've got some questions.

I was doing some research on the weather during July in Italy. Everything I've read says it is extremely hot and uncomfortable, but when I see the max numbers, it rarely breaks 90 degrees. I'm from New Orleans, and that's comfortable, haha. Does anybody know if it is humid there, breezy, etc?

Another question I had is where can you find attire suggestions for the different excursions. Mainly concerned about our vatican tour, but knowing the rest would be nice as well.

TIA!

if you look in the booklet provided by Disney there are symbols under the excursions which tell you the dress code for that particular excursion.

for most of the excursions we bookded knees and shoulders must be covered - I am taking light weight capri's with tank tops and bought a light white sweater which I'll put on when going into the vatican, cathedrals, chapels etc

I did see for the casino in monte carlo that sneakers are not allowed

We received our printfection t-shirt order this morning. They all came out very nice. I may need to get ds10 a larger size since the 10-12 seems tiny....I'll see when he gets home from school how it fits for sure.

I just booked a last minute trip to go to WDW with my sons for the last Star Wars weekend at MGM in June. We just so happened to go to MGM last year during 2006's first Star Wars weekend after getting off the Magic and DS6 quickly became enamored with all things Star Wars. We are hoping to hit a water park or two and MK as well.

Don't hold me to it, as the next CM I speak to could give me a different answer. Here are the prices I was quoted for Wireless Internet access on the MED cruises.

100 minutes - $55
250 minutes - $100
500 minutes - $150

Plus there is a .40 cent charge for every minute over your limit.

The CM I spoke to said the rooms don't have wireless Internet access, only wireless phone access?? The MED Transatlantic live report seems to say differently.

Anyway .. just thought I would pass this info on!
