"Seven Seven 07" 20070707-11 Night Mediterranean Cruise

Other than computer issues, Las Vegas has been fine so far. Only saw the casinos on the way from the airport though.

I'll come back and post what excursions I got after I finish the process. :jumping1:

Well, I got the following...

Palermo for Kids
Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri for Families
Day at Sea at Maddalena Archipelago
Ultimate Rome Experience
Portofino and Santa Margherita
Marseille City Tour
Juan Les Pins - A Day at the Beach

The Chocolate Museum in Barcelona was not available, and the Exclusive VIP Visit of the Vatican & Highlights of Rome was not available.

I actually had the other "Exclusive VIP Visit of the Vatican" tour reserved. But I cancelled it since it left the ship at 12:45 PM and included up to 2.5 hours of standing in line! That plus the 3 hour roundtrip bus ride amounted to 5.5 hours out of the 8.5 hour excursion time.

We opted to take the Ultimate Rome Experience to see many more sights, actually go inside the Colosseum, and have some "free" time to explore. The tour was longer (10.5 hours) and cost $380 less for a family of four.

I guess we'll just have to go back to Rome some day for the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican Museums.

I hope everyone got the tours they wanted. Epcot VA- we will be on the Palermo for Kids (AM) and Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri for families tours.

Is anyone making door magnets?

How about getting pillow cases or picture mat's signed? On our trip last May I turned in both to guest services along with a small cardstock (for scrapbooking) autograph book and they all came out nice. I may do the pillow cases for my neice and nephews this time.

It's finally feeling like spring here! (until the latter part of the week when it gets back down into the 50's). We are so looking forward to our cruise in July.

Was anyone able to get any other Paolo's? I tried but it said there was nothing available. Guess we will wait until we board to try and get brunch or tea.....

American Airlines called me over the weekend and part of my flight is messed up. Seems British Airlines changed/cancelled my flight from Gatwick in London to Athens. They moved it to another airport and changed the time so we arrive in Athens a day late and at 3 AM. Don't need this 7 weeks before we go. There are other times available but of course since we are using AA miles there are no seats... Will call them today and see if BA made an exception. Crossing my fingers...

Hi all ... Finally got my excursions booked. I tried to reply last night, but the DIS board site came down and I was too tired to wait. Here is what I got:

Panoramic Drive Through Barcelona
Mysterious Palermo
Amalfi Coast Drive and the Ruins of Pompeii
Panoramic Tour of La Maddalena
Ultimate Rome Experience
Florence and Michelangelo
Aix En Provence
Nice and Monaco

I got all my first choices except Barcelona. I've booked the Panoramic Drive, however, I'm thinking of cancelling and keeping my eyes opend for the Chocolate Museum. My thinking is if I don't get anything in Barcelona, I can at least look around on my own.

I looked into Palo and the only time available was dinner while in Rome.

Just got off the phone with DCL and here are the suggested tips for the 11 day cruise:

Dining Room Head Server - $10.50 pp
Dining Room Server - $40.50 pp
Dining Room Asst. Server - $29.50 pp
Room Host/Hostess - $39.75 pp

Total $120.00 pp

Does this sound right to everyone?

Denise,

Let's keep in touch and talk at the Dismeet on boarding day. There may be some cancelations in the DisGroup Palo Brunch. I'll be confirming with everyone on that dat to make sure they still plan on attending brunch.

Thanks
Jeff

Thanks Jeff,
Has the meet location been set up yet? I saw something about July 6th at the hotel I'm at but is there a meeting on board?:confused3

There was talk about meeting on Deck 10 near the Goofy Pool during the sailaway party.

On deck 10 somewhere near the Goofy Pool overlook -- it is close to a bar and is usually less crowded. Although they Disney staff will be walking around with drink trays so we won't get thirsty!!:thumbsup2 party:

ok, sounds good. but we changed to last seating for dinner and we have been wondering how that will work when we sail off....will we still be at dinner?

I'm also at last seating ... I'm sure a lot will be cleared up once the first cruise trip reports start rolling in! :)

Mjgirl,
Do you live in Ontario or near there? My family was from there!! I would love to visit the area someday. It's on my list of 1000 things to see before I die!

I've lived here most of my life (-8 years when I lived in Quebec). I currently live about an hour west of Toronto. You really should visit. Toronto is beautiful. Great shopping, great theatre and lots of good museums and activities for kids. We can talk on the cruise if you want!

Sounds good. My family lived in Brantford, Kingston and Adolphstown....

Small world ... I know Brantford and Kingston well, and have heard of Adolphstown. Brantford is about a 45 minute drive from me!

I was hoping to come up with a door magnet. I've been reading the thread and looking at all of the really great door signs :) Unfortunately, I have NO artistic talent and will have to "borrow" some ideas.

I've also read about the pillowcases/scrapbook pages. I love this board. We didn't to any of these things on our last cruise so we may have to make a point of participating this time.:woohoo:

We put up magnetic signs my parents had made (I think in NJ) with Mickey and our boys names on them. We purchased the birthday stateroom package that included a cute Birthday magnet that has the main Disney characters on it and that was on our door when we got on the ship. We also put up one page size magnet we created too. We weren't extravagant on our design. We just had a picture of the ship, some characters, our names and date of sailing. It really did make it easeir to find our room. I saw a thread yesterday that DCL has now banned using tape and other adhesives besides magnets on stateroom doors. Also, we haven't had them stolen, but several passengers have posted they have in the past and to put them on the inside at night.

I found a new T-shirt hosting company that offers alot (and I mean ALOT) more colors. Prices are pretty much the same. A little more for darker colors.

I like the Lt. Blue, but the Yellow sticks out pretty good too! The best part is that this shop has a varity of colors in kid sizes!

I apologize to those that already ordered. I swear I just found this new one tonight!
