Jessica, please do not stress over the buses. I have not encounter any bus problems, and I'm curious if anyone else here has seen that happen. The most we've had to wait was 20 minutes and there has always been plenty of room in all of them. I was the same as you, always wanted to stay there since they opened it, and I'm now in love. It is a fabulous resort and I can't complain about a single thing.

When are you thinking of going?

Thank you for helping calm my nerves. We check-in in 29 days! I have been so excited about it. I actually had to argue with my entire family to get them to stay there. They wanted the Poly, but we apparently have a Poly curse. We tried to stay there in 2009 and ended up having to cancel a few weeks out. Then we were suppose to stay there this June and ended up having to push out our trip to July. So I put my foot down and said NOOOO Poly! I am going to AKL. You guys can go with me or stay home! :thumbsup2 We have Jiko booked our first night! I can't wait. As long as I can get over the buses. I think I will be in heaven!

29 days! How fantastic! I should have looked at your ticker. You're going to have a fabulous trip :) Jiko is one of my ultimate favorites, very delicious.

I said the same thing when we planned my dd's Sweet 16 trip - we were going ot go to London, but didn't get selected for the Olympic Lottery - this was her only back up..so I insisted on AKL CL as I have wanted to go since day 1..

Thank you everyone for the well wishes :) the weather could not have been more perfect. Just hot enough with a lovely breeze the whole day.

My Conner thoroughly enjoyed himself

Pam, going to see the ponies has been on my bucket list... When is the best time to go see them? I hardly ever make it to the eastern shore but the ponies amaze me..

Pam,
I thought your "new" avatar was an esoteric picture of a wolf. I didn't realize that it was a shot of your pup (I use the term loosely). What beautful shots of your dog and the wildlife on the beach.

I'm hoping some day that I will get an awesome picture of myself doing something Disney and that will become my new Avatar and my new FB profile pic.

But to bring it back to AKL, I was looking into reservations today. We want to go at the end of January early February 2013. I was hoping we could do all January at AKV and then move to BLT starting in Feb. It would save us 5 pts per night at Kidani, but there is this trade show called the NAMM show which is a music industry highlight and it only happens once a year and it's in Anaheim (only 25 minutes away.)

This year we bailed on it because we were just burned out. Even though we plan on closing our music store this year, we plan to keep our NAMM membership active so we can keep going to the show. Unfortunately instead of being the 1Xth through the 2Xth of January, I just checked and it's the 24th-the 27th. We normally only go the first day, but I don't think we want to start our trip on a Sunday because we want to allow ourselves the flexibility to go every day to the NAMM show just in case. It looks like we might be booking our WDW trip to start on the 29th because we like to travel on Tuesday or Wednesday to start our trip.

This means we will spend about 10 extra points to carry it into February at AKL. Not a big deal, but we like to save points wherever we can....We'll have to talk about this and figure it out. I have four days to work it out....

Conner is a cutie! Bet he enjoyed the ocean breezes.

The horse pics are amazing! You were really close!

New lifestyle, different adventures. Maybe October can be your new tradition!

 your new lifestyle sounds like a pretty darn good one!:yay:

You are right! Actually, we have been going to WDW in October for over 30 years! Our trips pre-date the Food & Wine Festival; we stumbled upon the very first one simply by accident. Guess it is a tradition! :rotfl:

And just so you all don't think I have sunk to complaining about my lot in life... never going to hear that from me. I consider myself one of the luckiest women in the world. I have two great daughters, I love my job, and the boy I fell in love with 45 years ago is sitting on my couch waiting for me to come home every single night. If we have to curtail one of our WDW trips every year and miss the annual trips to the beach, so be it. However, I might sigh (loudly) once in a while. ;)

Good morning Js & Ks and Happy Sunday! :goodvibes

Pam, Conner is a beautiful dog. :cloud9: Your beach pictures are incredible! What a gorgeous day and the wild horses........ takes my breath away!

We're a little (understatement) on the humid side here in ATL -- heat is only low 90s but the humidity is WAY up. This is when I miss the "dry" heat of Colorado! (although Denver was 102 yesterday!)

Good morning, Elin! :)

To anyone who has not met you personally, I will attest to the fact that you are 1/4th of an awesome family! :goodvibes

We all know you are not a complainer -- heck, everyone is entitled to sigh (or groan!) a little here and there! ;)

Alison, I am thinking our paths have crossed a few times in this lifetime! I have been to the NAMM show twice! I have had students who have performed at the Marriott at Yamaha's display area in that ballroom. Who knows... maybe I have even visited your kiosk in the past. Small, small world, my friend.

You just made me cry...........

Good morning, Js & Ks! :sunny:

It is not so hazy, hot and humid as it has been. Still hot, still humid, but not nearly so bad. So, today Bob and I are going on a beach hunt! :rotfl:

We live close enough to the Potomac River and the Chesapeake Bay that we have beaches within a 20 minute drive of our house. We figure it is worth a drive to see if they will satisfy for the moment! I will let you know what we find! ::yes::

Pam - Your Conner is beautiful and it looks like you both had a perfect beach day. We love Assateague (and Chincoteague) and that whole Maryland/Delaware beach area. We spent many a summer in the Ocean City and Fenwick Island area. I am glad you live close enough to pop over there for the day!

Hi y'all! AKL Newbie here! Hope you don't mind me joining in! AKL has been my dream resort since we seen the first photos and since we seen a test room when looking into DVC at SSR. I have been so excited since we booked! But over the last few days, I have become terrified! I am hoping you can help calm my nerves.

I have not stayed outside of the MK area as a adult and to make it better, have never even stepped foot on AKL property. Thinking I probably should have atleast visited before making the decision to stay there. I keep reading mixed reviews about the transportation. People are saying that in the mornings, its not uncommon for the first few buses to drive right past Jambo House because they are full from the Kidani guest. This is really upsetting for me. I am a planner. I like to work on a schedule. If the buses keep getting filled up at the previous stop, then that would really throw me off. I usually give a hour drive time anywhere, but still. I like working with a pretty set time. We will have a car but I really didn't want to have to drive. We did that for years when we stayed at SOG because their buses were horrible. I expect that from SOG, not Disney! Have any of you really experienced this? Should I really be SPAZZING over the transportation? Please, fellow AKL lovers - tell me this is someone being over dramatic and getting passed over by the first few buses is not something I should be concerned about.....

Welcome. We stayed at Jambo House twice and have visited many more times and the bus service was the best I have encountered at any of the resorts.

Thank you everyone for the well wishes :) the weather could not have been more perfect. Just hot enough with a lovely breeze the whole day.

Good morning my friends..

Elin you are a allowed your groans, I groan a lot too, and I must say that I am pretty lucky too. Granted I have not had the years together with David as you have had with Bob, but I do know David is my perfect match.

Laura, today we.got a break from the heat and humidity and tonight should be really nice. Are you getting any affects from Debby?

Corinna, :wave2:

Sighing and venting are not only acceptable, but good for the soul! I believe they help you realize all the good in life.

Happy Sunday Jamborinis and Kidanites!
