Pam, this will be our first Carnival cruise. I've heard lots of good things about the Ecstasy (I do like the smaller ships!) and it sails from Port Canaveral, so that was another plus for it! ;)

We are NCL fans, but figured we should give Carnival a try! Actually, I tried like heck to get an NCL cruise booked, but on short notice (we just booked the end of May) we couldn't get a 4 or 5 night cruise in the accommodations we wanted. :sad1:

Are you a Carnival fan? (If not, please don't tell me till after July 13th!! :rotfl:)

The Disney cruise I just went on was my very first cruise, and I'm totally in love. I'm not sure I'm willing to be adventurous and try another line for a while. Very excited you were able to get one on short notice. Can't wait to hear what you think of them :)

We just did the 5 Night Cruise on the Ecstasy in January after a few nights at WDW. We loved it, it is fabulous value for your money. We've sailed Carnival 6 times plus Disney & Royal once. I'd love to sail Disney every time but the budget just doesn't allow. We have never been disappointed with Carnival. I hope you're stopping at Half Moon Cay, it is breathtaking. Have a great time!

In 1997 we took a Carnival Cruise and while they tried to have upscale food they failed miserably. I swore never to take a Carnival Cruise again. However, a few years ago, I read in a travel magazine that they hired a new executive chef from France. Subsequently all Carnival Chefs had to do a three week internship somewhere in France and they completely redesigned the menus of all the ships.

We have a Carnival Cruise port right here in town and on Sundays, Mondays and Fridays, I see the ships docked there. I kept saying that I wanted to take one on a Mexican Riviera Cruise, now I'm going on the Wonder! :rotfl:

Good Evening to all my J & K friends.

Busy, busy week here for us. I just flew back from Mayo clinic in Minnesota, my BFF from childhood, her DH had heart surgery there on Tuesday morning. It was a unusual surgery. He is doing very well, out of ICU (already) and walking, eating and looks good. What an answer to many prayers.

We have two graduations to attend with parties. A family reunion this weekend in Napa Valley, and I am trying to loose weight and work out. :lmao: So nothing going on around here!

ok so I just wanted to put my 16,000th post on this thread.....

:yay: Congrats Brandi! Sorry to read that you have to work out of your office right now, hopefully it will be for a short time.

Carnival Fan Here! :cheer2: We have cruised Carnival twice and really enjoyed it. The first time was just my dad and myself. This was shortly after my mom died and he wanted me to experience my first cruise with him. Such a wonder man he was. We had a ball, food was good, entertainment and activies were great. He felt so special as everyone thought he was weathy and I was his ummm "lady" as we both had so many laughs and loved to danced every night. We also did yoga and speed walked together each day.

Second cruise was a family reunion cruise with 58 family members ages 8 to 72. What a fantastic time we all had. If you ever are planning a family reunion that is the way to go. No worries about food, or activities. We would all meet for dinner each night in the main dining room and everyone could hang out with whomever they wanted doing whatever they wanted during the day.

Laura, I am sure you and J.R. will have a great time!

Pam, hope to do one of those real soon. Would love to take our kids and gradkids. I so love your TR.

Alison, so glad you have your cruise as a GO now. Hope you and Fran are doing well. I need to catch up on all my threads, so have to ask. How did things go with the audit? You were in my thoughts about that one.

Well, I am off to fix dinner. It is so hot here this afternnoon! I am thinking of chichen salad stuffed tomatos with fresh corn on the cob and a big glass of ice tea.

We have cruised DCL and loved it, but for the money, we couldn't beat The Suite Life on Norwegian!! :cloud9: We were totally spoiled and we have 2 NCL cruises booked in 2013!! :woohoo:

Thanks for posting! I appreciate hearing this! :goodvibes Yes, we have a day at Half Moon Cay! :thumbsup2 I agree about DCL and the "budget". :sad1:

Thanks Alison! As long as the food is edible, we'll survive! I'll let you know what our dining experience is like! :)

Ann

Ann, you certainly are busy! Glad to hear your BFF's husband is doing OK. Mayo Clinic is wonderful (we used to live in MN!)

Sounds like 2 wonderful Carnival cruises! :thumbsup2 I'm sure we'll have a great time. Tori will be with us. :goodvibes

Happy Friday Jamborinis and Kidanites! Keep cool!

Good morning, Js & Ks! :sunny:

Still REALLY hot here, but the storms that are rolling in should cool us down later.

Happy Friday everybody :)

Ann that's wonderful news your friend's DH is doing so well. Heart surgery is always scary. Prayers for his continued recovery.

Happy Friday, from hot Boston! 3rd day in a row of almost 100 degrees....I like it hot, but it might almost be too hot for me:laughing:
Hope everyone is having a good week...Today is my last day of vacation, I got back to work tomorrow at 3pm:sad2: No more vacation time for me until February:scared1:

Discovered AKLV CL is avail for my entire trip in Feb, but I can't book the last 2 nights for another month:wizard: I'm hoping it'll still be available...If not, I still have CL for the 1st 4 nights, and we move to Kidani for 2.

Jen why can't you book for another month?

I hope work goes well tomorrow :)

Thanks, I hope work goes well, too:goodvibes

I'm so short on points, that DVC said I cant book anything else until 7/22
I've been a member for almost 8 yrs and I still get confused on the rules:rotfl:
I guess it's because currently I only have 9 AKL points aval, but I have all 200 SSR avail

Good night all. Me and David are looking forward to a wonderful weekend... Tomorrow we will go shooting and then Sunday is family time (meaning chores around the house).

That makes sense. I didn't realize you had two ownerships. So, even though you own at AKV, you have to have AKV points to book at the eleven month window. You know what you could do, borrow from 2013 AKV points, and bank the SSR points if you wanted to keep your 2013 points at their regular number. That way you wouldn't lose out on the CL.

Hi :) hope everyone has a fabulous weekend :) I'm taking my dog to the beach, hopefully it won't be too hot.

Good morning, Js & Ks! :sunny:

Pam - I am jealous that you are going to the beach. You and your pup have a wonderful day!!

We discussed taking a day trip to VA Beach or even the Outer Banks, but I think it would be just too much for Bob to handle. We were just talking yesterday about the fact that this will be our second year in a row without an Outer Banks family vacation. We have chosen to spend our vacation money at WDW in October, so no money for a house rental this summer. It is one of the casualties of our "new lifestyle." :rotfl:

New lifestyle, different adventures. Maybe October can be your new tradition!
