Well we just left the Doctor's office and she says it's hardly draining at all. The dressing hadn't been changed since Saturday, so she had a lot to see.

She said no on the wound vac! I was picturing Fran riding around Epcot with the thing on the floorboards of her scooter. She also gave her the OK to do the trip to Vegas. We also got a prescription for one of those electric lift chairs so that she cam rent one in Orlando and write it off as a medical necessity.

Brandi I am so with you on the weather changes making a difference to allergies. Mine have begun to act up. The mulberry trees are really bad here right now. We keep going from cool, to cold, to 84 degrees yesterday.

Alison I imagine Fran is doing well since her surgery. Has been being a good patient and doing what she needs to for healing? How you doing my friend? Those wound vac machines can be a real blessing for healing. But the also are a bit of a PITA as far as mobility. It would be wonderful to hear that she is healing so well from the inside out that she would only need one for a short time.

Your trip is less than 3 weeks away!

Dinner was fabulous and I paid him back tonight with a Pancetta and Sweetcorn Risotto, which is one of my signature dishes.

I have 16 days left until I leave for Los Angeles and 11 days at work.

So far it has been glorious, thanks! Thank you for asking. I got the back yard mowed and trimmed and weeded my gardens. Those had not been touched since the summer of 2010! Hopefully we will be using the patio more this year and I can enjoy my gardening once again.

Today I am taking Bob to PA for a quick trip to visit his almost 96 year old Dad. We will leave after his coumadin appt and drive the remainder of the 6 hours. After a short visit we will stay with his almost 86 year old aunt and have some of our favorite Punxsutawney favorites for dinner. Then another quick visit in the morning before returning home by late afternoon tomorrow. I am excited to see Bob's family since it has been almost 2 years since we were there together. I am NOT looking forward to the snow showers they are talking about!

I am sure I have missed you, but I hope that you will have a wonderful trip.

I would hope the company your renting from would deliver it to your room.

I ended up renting an ECV and walker for our friend who is now in WDW with her DGD. They were so wonderful with setting up everything I requested for her and even delivered it all with a note that it was a gift from Mickey. She figured out it was from us as "Even Disney wouldn't do that for an ole lady like me." She is so funny!

I am excited for you both that your trips are a GO!

I certainly will be posting here when we figure it out. It will probably be next year before we can swing it. We have a family reunion out of state in June, WDW in Sept/October and some surprise from DH and kids after that.

The Home health nurse just left. He trained me in how to clean the wound reapply some sort of debriding ointment and redress the wounds. It's like she has two holes on either side of her leg akin to if you had removed the pit of a nectarine! I almost passed out being trained on it, I don't know WHAT or HOW I am going to actually be able to do it!

Hooking up the bag for the IV and flushing the IV injection thing last fall was enough of a test, now this!


When we rented the chair on a previous trip, the company dropped it off with Bell Services and they delivered it to the room. I've set up enough of these chairs that I knew more about it than Bell Services did! The thing is we did it for the last five days of our trip when we switched resorts. We want it for all seven on this trip at both resorts.

You're all so sweet and have a lot more faith in my than I do! I'm working overdrive on my PTR for this upcoming trip just to give me something to look forward to. I can just see the TR and discussing which resort is better for dressing wounds! I won't need to bring her bathing suit on this trip!
