Afternoon J's & K's - hope everyone is enjoying the day............ I'm trying to be outside as much as possible before the rain comes!!! I'm keeping a close eye on Debby......... :headache: I'm hoping it just fizzles out and we ALL only get some rain!!! It's beautiful here today, a little bit windy - but not bad or anything at all. :flower3:

I didn't mention it since it is not my dd's actual b'day - but this is her present.. Should I say something?

I'd DEF mention it to IPO and as suggested, make a note of it on your dining reservations!! Have a good time and Happy B-day to your DD.

Hi y'all! AKL Newbie here! Hope you don't mind me joining in! AKL has been my dream resort since we seen the first photos and since we seen a test room when looking into DVC at SSR. I have been so excited since we booked! But over the last few days, I have become terrified! I am hoping you can help calm my nerves.

I have not stayed outside of the MK area as a adult and to make it better, have never even stepped foot on AKL property. Thinking I probably should have atleast visited before making the decision to stay there. I keep reading mixed reviews about the transportation. People are saying that in the mornings, its not uncommon for the first few buses to drive right past Jambo House because they are full from the Kidani guest. This is really upsetting for me. I am a planner. I like to work on a schedule. If the buses keep getting filled up at the previous stop, then that would really throw me off. I usually give a hour drive time anywhere, but still. I like working with a pretty set time. We will have a car but I really didn't want to have to drive. We did that for years when we stayed at SOG because their buses were horrible. I expect that from SOG, not Disney! Have any of you really experienced this? Should I really be SPAZZING over the transportation? Please, fellow AKL lovers - tell me this is someone being over dramatic and getting passed over by the first few buses is not something I should be concerned about.....

NO spazzing necessary!!!! LOL - the bus service at AKL/Kidani is some of the BEST on property in my opinion. Been many many many times at all different times of the year and NEVER encountered bus problems - and you are WAY ahead of most newbies....... giving yourself an hour to get anywhere is the BEST thing you can do!!! Relax, enjoy and have fun!!!

Thank you everyone for the well wishes :) the weather could not have been more perfect. Just hot enough with a lovely breeze the whole day.

My Conner thoroughly enjoyed himself

and some wild horses came quite close. We went to Assateague State Park.

Pam,
But to bring it back to AKL, I was looking into reservations today. We want to go at the end of January early February 2013.

Alison, we are going to be at the Poly / BLT from Feb. 9 - 16th - it's Mardi Gras week for us........... I SO hope you guys will be there then!!!! I'd love to see you both!! (and make sure to wear your LSU attire - so you don't look like a "tourist" LOL) ;)

Good morning, Elin! :)

To anyone who has not met you personally, I will attest to the fact that you are 1/4th of an awesome family! :goodvibes

We all know you are not a complainer -- heck, everyone is entitled to sigh (or groan!) a little here and there! ;)

I couldn't agree more - you are DEF not a complainer and you ARE DEF. a beautiful, awesome lady!!!! You are my sunshine girl!!!! :sunny:

You just made me cry...........

Sighing and venting are not only acceptable, but good for the soul! I believe they help you realize all the good in life.

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Couldn't have said it better!!!!

Happy Sunday Jamborinis and Kidanites!

Back from church and getting ready to head out and bike the D and R Canal path to Princeton for lunch at Hoagie Haven! Hope everyone enjoys the day!

Enjoy the ride!!!! and Thanks for the frunch!!! :thumbsup2

** Brandi - those are your guns - nice!!!! We are going on our camping trip soon and plan to go shooting while we are there!!! :)

** Hi Jen!!! ;) -- how ya feeling??

Alison, I am thinking our paths have crossed a few times in this lifetime! I have been to the NAMM show twice! I have had students who have performed at the Marriott at Yamaha's display area in that ballroom. Who knows... maybe I have even visited your kiosk in the past. Small, small world, my friend.

I've been at almost every NAMM show for the past 20+ years, hence the reason we just had to skip last year. I do have to admit I've rarely made it to the Marriott or Hilton exhibits, but I know that's where most of the piano exhibits are.

You are very lucky to have what you do with Bob, I hope you enjoy your day at the beach.

Pam, going to see the ponies has been on my bucket list... When is the best time to go see them? I hardly ever make it to the eastern shore but the ponies amaze me..

I love seeing them, it is really neat. They live in Assateague year round and every year they round up the young ones sometime in the Spring and sell them at auction so the population doesn't get too big. Be careful if you take snacks with you, they have become very clever at finding peoples' food. My uncle saw one take a bag of chips and stomp on it to open it up. :)

Thank you everybody. Conner is a hoot and a half. He's 11 years old and still all puppy. The horses came right in front of us and he went ballistic. Couldn't stop barking like a psycho dog. The horses weren't phased a bit. We ended up moving because it was a little close for comfort.

Elin, I hope your beach hunt was fun :) I didn't think you were complaining, just chatting, no explanations necessary :)

Alison, do you know where are they cutting points by 5? They always have to keep them even right? So if they're increasing by 5 on the one bedrooms they must be cutting them somewhere else. I'm sorry the NAMM dates are causing you to replan. I hope it all works out.

You might of all seen the books I picked for the namm show. I work at Hal Leonard and I pick books for the show.

Pretty good foot/ankle still a bit sore, but hopefully healing properly! Thanks for asking:goodvibes

Hope the weather doesn't get to crazy for you! Stay safe!

No, it's the difference between booking AKV in January vs February, the points are the same for BLT, but they are cheaper 5 pts per night at AKV in January. No biggie, it's not like I don't have a boatload of points, what's 20 points? :rolleyes1

We've decided to do the whole trip in February now. Being landlords she doesn't want to be gone on the 1st of the month, we will probably look at Feb 6-14 now. So it will be a while now before I try to book the trip.

Small world! Before we opened our online store I worked at Alfred in the Marketing Dept. You might know some of our sales reps, we've been through about four of them at Hal Leonard in 13 years!

I missed this post earlier! It looks like our paths will probably cross. If we're lucky, we'll be at BLT the day after you arrive. We're now looking at the 6-14. It's official because I just created a worksheet for this trip in my Excel Disneyworld Document!

And I have no idea whad LSU attire would be! :confused3

::yes::

That is what I was shooting...I should remember to post my target...

Ahhh, that makes sense. I was going a whole different route in my mind. I think it was because they're raising the Tree House Villa points, I must have had that on my mind. I kept thinking 5 points was a lot to raise at one time. :) I understand, 20 points could be another night at some resorts, and definitely if you did a studio but I know you're steering away from those.

We are here at AKL Jambo right now. We checked in Saturday and it really does feel like coming home.:cloud9: We spent the first two nights at CBR and now being here at AKL is just wonderful.

However.... I want the Rain to go away. :sad2: It has just been pouring since yesterday morning.

And I know a while back someone asked about the coffee makers. Our DVC room still has the regular size ones.

And just so you all don't think I have sunk to complaining about my lot in life... never going to hear that from me. I consider myself one of the luckiest women in the world. I have two great daughters, I love my job, and the boy I fell in love with 45 years ago is sitting on my couch waiting for me to come home every single night. If we have to curtail one of our WDW trips every year and miss the annual trips to the beach, so be it. However, I might sigh (loudly) once in a while. ;)

:goodvibes I never thought you sounded like complaining.

I hope it stops raining soon. At least you're 'forced' to stay in and enjoy the resort :) and they have the DVD rentals in the store. Have fun whatever you do :)

I am sure I have! I always stop at the Hal Leonard kiosks. small small world, indeed

Good morning, Js & Ks! :sunny:

I hope Debby is kind to those of you in her path. Even though I know it isn't so, it still seems early in the season to me. A dear friend is Director of Emergency Management for Franklin County, FL and I am assuming his life is not very relaxed right now. Stay safe, everyone!

We found a "beach" within a twenty minute drive of our house. Not much beach to speak of, but we did get to sit and look at the water a bit. We were in Virginia (obviously) but we were looking across the Potomac to Maryland.

Good morning J's & K's:goodvibes

Hope everyone is staying dry, this weather is awful:eek: Tons of rain, thunder and lightening here....Hope everyone stays safe!

The weather is the reason I think I even had time to get here today:laughing: Cant walk the dog in this weather, and I said the heck w/the errands I was going to run before work.

Hopefully I can stop by every day, but now that I am back to work I'm not sure. So if I dont get back tomorrow, I should be back on day off Friday!

Have a great week!
