Seven Dwarf Mine Train is WAY over-hyped in my opinion

Thankfully we only waited 40 minutes for this ride. But in my opinion, it wasn't worth it. The ride is probably the shortest ride on property. I was disappointed. I feel like they just threw the ride in to alleviate some of the crowds/lines on other rides.

Anyone else disappointed?

Too short is the problem. I think it is a great little ride, but it needs to be longer. I think it's around 2 mins long and really needs to be at least a full minute longer.

I loved it...mostly because my 4 year old also loved it. He is short and can't do the 40" rides and I am so glad Disney had a "big" ride he could enjoy. I can see why a group of adults might no like it, but to me its the type of rides that Disney is all about.

We knew before we rode that this wasn't a thrill ride and it was short. But the theming is well above par for Disney, and it's one of the smoothest coasters I've ever ridden.

I love coasters but with neck issues can no longer ride them (most) because of being too jerky. I was so happy when learning of the smoothness of this ride. It didn't bother my neck at all - just great with the gentle swaying. :thumbsup2

Wondered all along during the construction why a lot of people were eagerly awaiting another 'thrill' coaster, when all along it was touted as a 'family' ride in 'Fantasyland'!! That should have given a 'clue' that it was geared to the younger set mostly. :confused3

We enjoyed 7DMT very much. I would not wait in line more than 20 mins for it, or any other ride. The "hype" always struck me as more about it being the new attraction, not a thrilling, long ride.

I remember when they were building it, and it was being described as a family-friendly ride... at that point in time, I figured it would be a fun once-a-day type of ride. It would seem I'm not wrong. lol Gonna' ride it for the first time in a few weeks, can't wait!

My kids LOVE this ride! Love love love! Such a great addition to fantasy land. Sorry you didn't like it but others do.

For all rides, 20-30 minutes is my tolerance for a couple rides. The rest need to be 10 or less for me to be happy. This does happen depending on where in the park and what time it is.. Where it doesn't, I get a fastpass for it or just skip it.

I don't see this ride getting hyped by anyone.. I'm not sure why long line to ride the new ride = hype.. Fast rides have always been the longest rides and still happens on others also. This is just new so many are visiting and seeing it for the first time still.

My 11yo son loved it the first time - but that time, he got to ride with the cute French Canadian girl he had spent an hour talking to in line. The next time we rode, he was less enthusiastic :)

You should have seen his jaw hit the floor when she switched to French to talk to her grandfather...

As far as duration of the ride, RnR is only 2 minutes long, too. It's mostly about expectations, I think. The highest and second fastest roller coaster in the world (Kingda Ka) is only 28 seconds long, which is really short if your heart doesn't stop.

With a toddler in tow, I would not wait hours for any ride. We just came back from our trip and since it was a last minute trip, we didn't secure FP in time. We simply waited in line late when crowds started tapering off around 8pm and the wait time for 7DMT was less than 25 minutes. We have also taken advantage of a PPO BoG ADR to ride it the following morning. Was the ride worth the effort for us? In our circumstances, yes- but I would not ordinarily wait in the standby line for more than 30 minutes if I had a choice. The ride is very well-themed and cute, and the entertainment they have while you wait in line is well done.

Maybe so, but it still was fun. And I only go to Disney World to have fun. I have decided that I don't care about the new fastpass system, or the so called healthy food, or the unfriendly CM's. I just want to have fun, and forget about the rest of the world, if only for a short time.

And at a minimum-think how many folks are in that line so your lines are shorter.

Beautifully themed, hideously uncomfortable seats, definitely FP-worthy, but I'd never wait more than 15 mins in line for it, once the hype eventually dies down.

I think it's a cute, fun ride, but it's not worth waiting more than 30 minutes for it. I've only ridden it when I had a FP.

It is one of our family favorites!! We ride it multiple times every trip and love it more each time! We got lucky on our last trip and Wishes was starting as we were on the ride so we were watching fireworks while on it; best ever!

It's cute. Also my 4 year old loved it. It was just the right thrill level for him. It also has a relatively low height limit, so younger children can enjoy it (which contributes to the wait time).
