Seven Dwarf Mine Train is WAY over-hyped in my opinion

It's a fun ride. No thrills. Great 1st coaster. We love rocking the car. Didn't realize you could til we saw a promo on Disney XD.

I'd wait up to 30 minutes to ride. Otherwise, I'd pass.

I think that's why FP+ is so popular for this ride. Not the new factor or thrill factor. But the worth to wait factor.

We waited 30 minutes for it once during the Halloween party. My sister and her BF had never been or I wouldn't have waited that long. But our entire family very much enjoys this ride. We use FP and usually go on it several times per trip.

hum. I certainly enjoyed it. Is it the greatest ride in the park? NO. Still a worthy addition and a must do every trip. IMO.
As for wait time.. I think the first time we didn't have FP and waited at least 40 probably 45 min. The second and third time would have been near rope drop... I don't expect we would wait 40 minutes again for this ride but would certainly use a FP or rope drop time to ride it!

The disappointment is people not realizing it's a coaster aimed toward young kids. If you realize what type of ride it is..it's a good ride and is fun. I went in on opening day knowing it wasn't a big coaster and was geared toward young kids. The ride length I wish was longer, but it's not THAT short. I think they also did amazing with the amount of space they had

7dmt is 2.30 minutes long
Peter Pan is 2.45
Space Mountain 2.30
Rockin Rollercoaster 1.22
Expedition Everest 2.51

The ride length is up there with some of the most popular rides. So I really don't see the argument that it sucks because it's so short. I really just think some that don't like it just are looking for a more thrilling ride.

I wouldn't say it was over-hyped. It was never supposed to be more than a kid-family rollercoaster. The animation, the theming and the story are all very well done. The craftsmanship to make this ride is to be honored. Great artistic display of this story from start to finish. The "hype" comes from so many people building anticipation of it. It is what it is...a great kid-family coaster that entertains and delights.

I liked it well enough, we also had FP+ so the wait wasn't bad. Yes it was short, but its fun while it lasts! When it has been around for awhile longer the "hype" will disappear, and I think it will turn into a ride that many enjoy but doesn't quite stand in the spotlight

Way over hyped? Depends on what your expectations were going in. As CAS239 so ably stated, you need to know what the ride is and who its primarily geared towards.

We knew before we rode that this wasn't a thrill ride and it was short. But the theming is well above par for Disney, and it's one of the smoothest coasters I've ever ridden.

I expect the standby lines will always remain long for this ride due to its loading capacity ( although it would really help if Disney would stop running at only partial capacity - this and the other attractions, too). We use FP when possible or do standby when the lines can be expected to be shorter. It will likely always be on our list of must do's.

I thought it was very cute, classic Disney. I won't wait 40 minutes for it, but I won't wait 40 minutes for anything so that is an unfair comparison. I think with FP this ride is worth it.

I like it a lot too. It's a tad short, but it couldn't really be much longer and fit on the plot of land they had to work with. It's only so popular because it's new. It's a family ride in Fantasyland. I never understood what people were expecting?

I would not wait for this ride. It is too short for the long waits they have for this ride. I used a fp+ on this last time and felt like I wasted it. I don't see myself wasting another one next trip.

It won't make my "must get a FP" rotation. We dumped a FP for it one day (having already ridden it) and substituted a FP for BTMRR instead. We enjoy BTMRR much more.

I agree to the extent that it is not worth any wait longer then 30 minutes (but then again I feel the same about pretty every WDW attraction/event/show!)

We love it! I think it's a fun ride. We've always FP it so never waited for more than 5-10 mins
