Seven Dwarf Mine Train is WAY over-hyped in my opinion

Thankfully we only waited 40 minutes for this ride. But in my opinion, it wasn't worth it. The ride is probably the shortest ride on property. I was disappointed. I feel like they just threw the ride in to alleviate some of the crowds/lines on other rides.

Anyone else disappointed?

I would've been disappointed if I had waited 40 minutes for it, but we had FP+ (we skip any ride that's over 20 minutes that we don't have a FP+ for, I don't think any rides are worth that wait!). It's nowhere near my favorite ride though but somewhat entertaining.

I've seen a lot of people disappointed on here, but I wasn't. I felt like the hype at the time I went (a few months after it opened) was more being NEW and less about it being amazing. I did have a FP, so maybe the lack of wait makes a difference. I liked it fine, but it hasn't made the list of my favorites (Expedition Everest, Rockin roller Coaster, Tower of Terror and Splash mostly because of great theming in each case.)

Overhyped? I'm not sure it's overhyped, just very popular.

It's obviously very detailed and well thought out. I don't think anything was thrown together.

But, the nature of these rides is that they are fairly low capacity, which makes the lines long. It's also still, relatively new.

I agree as its over hyped.... however I would never wait over 20 min for most rides period. I rope drop and use fp. I do like riding thru the mine though.... I definitely do like that part.

Nope, not near disappointed - we loved the ride and will ride as often as we can - from the looks of the lines each time we go, and the lack of easy FP's, there's lots others like us! :goodvibes Not over hyped IMO.

The ride is ok, but not worth an hour wait. I don't think I am the target person that this ride was made for. Maybe if I was 7 or 8 I would feel different about the ride.

It's cute, we did it in 2014, skipped it in 2015, we'll probably get a FP+ for Oct 2016 but we won't be doing any waiting for it.

It's my favorite ride! It is too short for sure (much longer than barnstormer though!) We have only used fastpasses on it though. We also do not wait more than 20 minutes for any ride. It's wonderfully detailed and a smooth ride. Heigh Hoooooo!

Sounds like "after hours" would make this a lot better-esp if you can just stay on and keep going like BTMRR. But walking around and back on would help as well.

I absolutely LOVE it. To me it is very charming and detailed and classic Disney. I love thrill rides, but I did not go in expecting this to be one. Instead, I found it to be probably the smoothest mini-coaster I've ever experienced, and that passage through the mine with the dwarves singing is totally magical for me.

Still, I would tackle with a FP+ if possible. Wouldn't wait more than 40 minutes. (Wouldn't wait that long for ANYTHING though.)

Peter Pan ride is WAY overhyped vs the amount of time spent in line.
I also don't think the 7DMT is that much of a ride either. Compared to some other rides in fantasyland it's pretty good - compared to other rides in WDW it's ok - compared to other rides in Universal and other theme parks? Ehhh... It seems to me they could've come closer to a Splash Mountain ride experience then what they ended up with.

It's not the shortest ride. That has to be Barnstormer. But it's also a younger set Rollercoaster (I wouldn't call it a kid coaster but a step above that). I guess since I've been to Six Flags and kid amusement parks, I expect small rollercoasters to be short duration.

I can understand why anyone looking for a thrill ride would be disappointed, especially after waiting so long. But it's a cute, well themed, small Rollercoaster. For what it is, I think it's very good and my kids love it.

How long of a ride is it once you're on it?

It's about two minutes long.

We are two adults, and loved it. For us, it's about the quality of the experience, not the length. People keep comparing it to various E Tickets; well, it's not an E Ticket, folks. It's a Fantasyland ride, which means it will be short, and tend to have appeal to kids more than adults. But I do think a lot of adults enjoy it, and parents like the fact that their kids love the ride.

It opened in 2014, and it's still wildly popular. That's not just due to the newness factor. During its first two years of operation, the wait times for Mermaid dropped a lot.
