Okay, so to preface my question, I have never been to Universal Orlando Resort. I have been to Universal Studios Hollywood, but that's it. Now, I have been to Disney World, blah blah blah. Let's get to the point hehe

Hypothetically, let's say me and the family (wife, son-5, daughter-2), stayed seven nights at Royal Pacific. My question is this, is there even seven days' worth of stuff to do at Universal Orlando? In other words, would I be better off spending five days at WDW and then two at UO? Or is it worth it to spend the full week just at UO?

We have done 5 days and 7 days and have always found ourselves having plenty to do .
As many times as we have went we still find stuff we missed but then agian I am big Universal fan so the more days the better :thumbsup2

Last time we were in the Orlando area we were there for 16 days and spent 7 of them between US/IOA and I still don't think we did/saw everything. We're going back the end of April for 5 days and staying on-site this time.

One nice thing about US/IOA is you don't feel like you have to get up at the crack of dawn and stay up and in the parks until they close. You can take it at a much slower pace and really take time to enjoy the little things.

We have visited once before and felt that 3 days was plenty. We stayed onsite and visited everything at least once. This next time we are planning on visiting one park per day for the first 2 days and then on the 3rd day seeing what we want to see again. We will probably not use the tickets the rest of the time unless there is something we really want to see again.

Having just returned from our first trip to Universal resort, I'd have to say that though we enjoyed both parks a lot, there's no way we could fill 7 days at the parks. I'd say any more then 3 days would have felt like overkill.

On the other hand, if you plan to spend a day or two at seaworld, another day at a waterpark, and a couple of 'pool days', you should be able to fill a week.

I agree that 3 days is sufficient to see all you could want at the parks. DH and I usually spend 1 full day each park and a third getting to what we haven't seen or want to ride again. All of this is done "commando" style. We have not spent much time seeing shows, though. I could see someone wanting more time than us, eating at restaurants and viewing the resorts. You should have plenty to do staying on site.

Part of the reason DH and I don't spend a full week at US is that there are several activities they don't offer. We like to golf, hike, horseback ride and spa. Although I hear RP has a spa, I have never been there. We usually go to SSR.

Just take your time, check out the pools and places to eat, and visit Citywalk to club or shop. With a little rest thrown in, you will have plenty to do.

We've only been able to stay for 5 day stretches and have never been able to see all and do all. And that is staying onsite with FOTL being able to ride over and over.

We are going for 5 nights. First visit. I think I'll barely get everything in, but we are going to Sea World, Blue Man Group and maybe Discovery Cove as well as US & IOA.

2 or 3 more days would probably work out good for us since we are not just going to the parks - but the crew wants to go to Savannah for a few days instead.

With the ages of your kids, I would think that is a good amount of time so you don't ever have to rush them anywhere. The last time I took my kids they spent a whole afternoon and a good part of the evening just inside Curious George play area. It has a regular covered playground and George sometimes is there and it also has a big water play town. The water area I could not get them out of they were having such a good time. My kids also enjoyed the Barney show which takes a little bit of time to wait for the show then there is a play area and meet n greet at the end. Also I would just plan a pool day where you just take it easy. If I took my 2 younger boys (3 & 6) that is how much time I would want because they get a little grumpy with too much too fast. Hope I helped a little.:)
